I was super nervous about going to a hair salon because I hadn't had a haircut in 15+ years and I'm a trans guy who wanted to get rid of my long hair and go for a short style. I found this salon on Strands For Trans and decided to give it a go rather than opt for a local salon or a chain that might not be very accommodating. I have phone anxiety but the receptionist was very kind, he put me at ease at once, asking what I'd like to be called and reassuring me that they were definitely comfortable with cutting my hair. I got an appointment the same day and went in. I was very nervous when I arrived but everyone was very kind and supportive, they used my chosen name without awkwardness. Carina cut my hair and she was totally respectful and down-to-earth, she listened to what I wanted and followed my reference images. I couldn't help but relax and feel very validated the entire time I was there. I am super happy with my cut, which makes me feel more like myself. I was there about an hour and really expected to pay for the women's cut just for the sheer amount of work involved in cutting such long hair, but I was only charged for the men's cut which felt really good. They only take cash tips so I had to run to the ATM but it was a perfect experience and I will be back in the future! read more

From the first phone call I made to The Salon Friday afternoon they made me feel welcome! In total panic mode I told Nehemias what happened to my hair at a different salon earlier in the morning and asked if someone could fix it ASAP (I looked like a Buzzfeed article that states 22 hair trends that should have stayed in the '00s). He assured me he had somebody and if I could come in at 3 Melissa could take me. When I walked in with a hat on (to hide my hair) everyone made me feel comfortable. I loved how everyone was so nice to me and to each other. I started my appointment with Melissa and she is incredible. She seriously knows what she's doing. Melissa broke up the brassy, chunky, and blonde 2001 style highlights and made my hair look absolutely amazing! She is a hair doctor! From my appointment on Friday to today I have received more compliments on my hair than I have in my entire life. I cannot tell enough people how happy I am and how amazing Melissa and the entire staff at The Salon are. I can't wait for my next appointment! read more

I was referred to the salon by friend. She told me that I could not go wrong with anyone I would choose to see. I was looking for a change as my previous stylist stopped listening to my wants and needs. I chose Taj. I walked into the salon was greeted by very friendly people. Once I sat in Taj's chair, I showed him a picture of a cut and color that I was looking for. We took some time to talked it over and we came up with a plan. I have never been so happy! I left that Salon feeling like I had a makeover! I have never had a stylist listen to my needs and wants as he did. I was back at the salon today and I left there once again feeling sexy and confident! I I have since referred two friends there and currently my two sons are now getting their hair cut by Taj as well. I wish I had found The Salon sooner! Thank you to Taj and the entire staff for my BEST salon experience ever! P.S. The compliments keep coming on my hair! So I will be stating that I gave the salon 5 stars because from the minute I walked in I felt welcomed, and I thought wow I feel like Im back home. I recently moved here from NY and it was hard to find a place where I could have someone cut my hair, you gotta understand ive had the same hairdresser since I was 4! He knew my hair inside and out! From the minute I met Mandy I thought she was awesome she could tell I was nervous so she sat and talked with me to get to know and what i liked and how i wore my hair! Right off the back I thought ok great shes listening to me but what won me over was her telling me that she tends to cut less than a customer wanted especially when she was getting to know them! I was sold! And she did not disappoint! I have long thick curly hair and she knew exactly how to handle and cut my hair! Needless to say I am beyond please with the service and my hair cut to the point where I already scheduled my next appt which I have never done! read more

My first time there was a couple of months ago. I had the pleasure to have Taj. My number #1 . He was and is great! Great man, professional and does a fab job. I wanted to get my hair done yesterday. But, he was off. Rightfully so. His day off. However, I needed to get my hair done. They said I would get Nickie. She was and is like Taj. Great woman. I felt beautiful they way Taj made me feel beautiful. These guys and gals are absolutely amazing. I am so content with The Salon. They make you feel so comfortable. I only knew my stylist Jeanell when I first visited The Salon but I was pleasantly suprised at how welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable the entire staff is. The location is convenient and the atmosphere is comfortable. The giant mirrors make me feel glamorous! I see Jeanell every other week for a mens cut which could easily be dismissed and completed with little effort but Jeanell is amazing at making you feel like you're all that matters during the time you spend with her, she has such passion for what she does and it's intoxicating to watch her creativity spark when she's explaining her ideas for your hair. My wife is also a client of Jeanell's and she always returns home happy and looking like a rock star. I honestly look forward to my next visit the minute I walk out the door! read more

The Salon is fantastic! I can't stress enough how amazing the staff is . From the moment you walk in you feel at home, and always leave fabulous . Brittany always does a perfect job on my hair . It was it such bad shape before I came to her . It's amazing the transformation . I could hang out at the Salon all day. It's like a big family! Everyone is so friendly and everyone is always smiling. You can feel the positive vibrations the second you walk in. I also got a custom hair extension halo made by Taj. It's the perfect go-to on days where I want extra length! It is gorgeous . He truly worked his magic - it's hard to make extensions look exact when you have baby fine hair like myself . Like all of us, I would see pictures of how I wanted my hair to look. Brittany got my hair perfect! Before going to see Brittany, my hair style and color were, well, basic. I always wanted to be a "natural" red head so when I scheduled with Brittany I asked her advice. Before she started she looked at all of my pictures and made suggestions based on my hair texture and skin tone. Well I couldn't be happier! My previously basic hair now has natural tones with a warm red base that brightens my face up. The cut is great- a quick blow dry and use of the suggested products and my hair looks amazing! This place is AMAZING! The staff and owner are so friendly. I went to Diana to get a hair dye. I did a reddish color on top and darker color underneath. It looks great! I am so happy with it and will most definitely be going back!! I was a little nervous because I haven't dyed my hair in years but it turned out so awesome! Diana also trimmed my hair and it falls beautifully. I originally was trying to get into Visions from a friend's recommendation. I left 3 messages with the person at the front desk for the owner, Maria, but she never called me back. AMAZING AND WONDERFUL!!! I made a last minute decision for all my bridesmaids to get their hair professionally done for my wedding. The Salon was very accommodating and made 6 appointments at the last minute. The hair stylists were there early and ready to get to work when we arrived. One thing that meant a lot to me was that they did my hair first so once I was done I could help in deciding on how all my bridesmaids' hair should look. I have only been to The Salon once but I had a wonderful experience and thought I'd share. I was in PA for my cousins wedding and we all had our hair done by Jeanell. (My cousins friend heard that she was the best around at updos). Not only did all of us girls have a blast, we were also really happy with her work!! All of us wanted something different and Jeanell did a wonderful job giving us just what we wanted. She pays attention to detail which is also great because no one likes a flyaway! My best girlfriends and I felt the need for a new look after a ski trip and did a call around to a few Allentown salons for an opening for 4 spots. The Salon took us in with open arms and was an absolutely delightful place to stumble into. Very clean, authentic service and not to mention an end result of 4 fabulous haircuts. Two of us got highlights and both looked beautiful- very natural and subtle. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good cut or color. Absolutely LOVED this salon! I'm a Jersey girl and I'm used to going to Salons that are very diverse. By diverse i mean that there are stylists that can cut asian hair. I went to Taj, and he was absolutely amazing!!! I will definitely be going back again. He not only made me feel comfortable, but also listened to what i wanted. If you need an excellent stylist see Carina Clemens! She took my dry, damaged hair, due to meds and thyroid issues, and magically transformed it to soft and healthy looking. I drive an hour to get my hair done at The Salon. Laura Freund is a fabulous stylist. She always highlights my hair exactly the way I want. She is creative with her color and cuts. I let her make decision with color and lengths because I can trust that the end result with be perfect. I get many compliments and have sent my friends to PA to get their hair done. Absolutely IN LOVE with my hair! Brittany did an impeccable job (as she always does) with melting the blonde and brondes colors to form a seamless transition of color. The balayage/ hair painting adds another dimension as well! I was very skeptical of the "ombre" look but the technique she used gave a very soft approach creating more of a melted look, NO HARSH LINES! I was so unsure of what to do with my hair but she is very well educated and guided me to the perfect selection of color and cut for the fall! Highly recommend! read more

I would like to tell you about Diana, an AMAZING hairstylist. I have been a customer of hers for about 35 years. Wherever she goes, I go. She ALWAYS makes me look young and beautiful. She is the guru of hair color. She also cuts and styles my hair so that it looks modern and chic. I can easily imitate the style when I get home so that my hair always looks great. Mandy was an awesome stylist! I explained that I was new to the area and very picky about who cuts my hair (it's pretty long, and I've had quite a few botched haircuts before), and she was more than willing to explain to me every part of my cut to ease my worries. Amazing! I am incredibly picky about my hair and I pretty much don't let any one lay their fingers on it. However, Diana did an amazing job on my color. I've never gotten any type of color done and she did one of the best jobs I've ever seen. I'm really impressed with her work and how wonderful she made me look. Diana is an impressive colorist!
