Out of all the thrift stores I shop, the Salvation Army ones are my favorite. They are all usually clean, well-mainted, organized, and have plenty of merchandise to offer customers. This one is located close to the hotel where I'm staying. Mom and I had a great time visiting this particular location. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything worth purchasing. This is my favorite thrift store in Round Rock. I've been coming here for a little over two years, and I can't say enough about this store. It's always very clean, and I love the staff here. Bryce is always super helpful, courteous, and offers help anytime I need it. Also really love the manager here, he's awesome and fun! Not to mention they have amazing deals several times a week. The prices are amazing. Can't say enough about this location! If you can always round up, it goes towards the drug and rehabilitation program, which is important. read more

Why would Salvation Army not clearly state that furniture that will be picked up, has to be in perfect condition. I scheduled a pickup of our sofa sectional and 1 piece is a little worn. The driver refused to pick the entire sofa up because it has to be in great sellable condition. If that is the case then why isn't that stated on the website when people schedule pickups??? They are all about the money and not people because this would have made a nice sofa for someone less fortunate. I will never, ever give money or donate anything to the Salvation Army. PROS: ------------- (1) Many items priced very low, much lower than Goodwill. (2) Good selection of large furniture. This is rare at thrift stores (except other Salvation Armys, esp. the one on S. Congress). CONS: ------------- (1) Store was filthy. Junk all over the carpet, sticky black stuff all over the tiles. (2) Many items not priced (no price tag). (3) Many items priced way too high. Good location; friendly staff, cleanliness and ease of shopping access. Lately, it has become even more insane pricing on items that they get donated freely. Mainstream retail is becoming more and more appealing; since the pricing is not as repurpose/recycle. It is discouraging to be priced out in any affordable thrifting on furniture/home decor/fashion accessories. More and more focus is on clothing; which with smaller closets and a restricted budget; seems okay, but you cannot sit in home on a blouse or pant. With all these increases on everything else; would not be surprised if there will be more "on the curb for free utems" and less donations to thrift stores. read more

This location is famous for its very large selection of furniture. As a matter of fact, a quarter of the store is dedicated just to furniture. You'll find a better selection and higher quality items here than you will at the average Goodwill. If I had to say they were lacking in anything it would be in electronics, books and music. They also have some daily sales on certain days which can really save you a lot of money. read more

Great thrifting. It's always hit and miss. Some days there are treasures. Some days, I leave with nothing. Lots of clothes and housewares. Sometimes they have grest donations of new items. I saw some puzzles for older kids or adults. They have some counters of costume jewelry and nicer stuff. Took a stroll through furniture to look at lamps. I was specifically looking for Christmas decore and / or itens to enhance the Holiday table. Didn't find much for me but there's lots of goodies worth a peek. read more

While I've never been into this store, I've donated a great deal of items to it. Today, I donated a China cabinet with glass and lights in it (a solid piece). What I appreciate about thier donation services is they make it simple for consumers to donate quality items and they picked them up if requested. The times I've scheduled a pick up, they have always been on time, brought the donation recipet and have been gracious. read more

So surprised by how organized this is here. Never seen another thrift store with as much organization unless theyre super fancy. However, the furniture was insanely expensive for used furniture, like why was a resold couch $300? They have a lot of stuff in stock and pay attention to it, and some cool finds. We decided to stop in here to see what they had in the way of furniture. This time we were able to find a small dresser. As we were looking at it a man announced over the PA system that all furniture was half off so that was great timing and a good deal. I haven't looked at the clothing but they did have a lot of it. I went on a Wednesday when clothes are half off. I ended up getting a lot of yoga pant capris for a couple bucks each! The discounted deals are good, not on discount, it's a little overpriced but better than goodwill. The non clothing section was kinds of cluttered and disorganized. The section was still walkable, there were just piles of things in front of and on top of each other. The checkout line went to the back of the store and partially around, so be prepared to wait in line a while unless they have the 10 items or less lane open and you aren't buying much. I overall like this store but I'm taking two stars away mostly because certain areas of the store smelled hardcore like farts. I was wearing a mask which is have thought would...mask it. It wasn't consistent throughout the store but there were definitely patches that were more odorous than others. Not a deterrent, just be prepared. read more

This is a cool store to shop, that you definitely can find a gem or two, every so often. This store, like most stores is flooded with re-sellers and you will see as soon as something comes out, people attacking it aggressively, but that's become common at the thrift stores I've visited in the area. The only odd thing about this store, is that they actually allow one of the re-sellers to put out the clothes for them and allow him to pick through it as he does it and throw it in his cart. I've honestly never seen that at any store before, but it made me no longer donate higher end clothes to Salvation Army. I always thought the fun of a thrift store was that everyone has an equal shot at finding something awesome. The prices here have gone up over the years I've stopped by and in some cases are in line with their main competitor, but I think that's just the nature of the business. This store always seems to have awesome employees and is generally clean and well organized, but it can look like a bomb went off after a sale day. If you haven't been to one of these stores before, keep in mind, they do staple price tags through the clothing, so keep in mind you may have holes in a weird spot, since it's usually stapled on the clothes and not on the wash tag, like a lot of other places do. This place has an awesome selection of furniture and pictures, that seems to rotate regularly. They are a little bit light on the electronics, toys, and books, but you should still be able to find a thing or two that will make it worthwhile when you make your way there! read more

Stopped here at opening and see the trash is overflowing. The A/C was either out, turned off, or set way to high. I felt sorry not only the customers but also the employees who have to work in those conditions. Pretty sad I think. read more

I come here every now and then as this store usually has some good things and name brands hanging around. One downside about this place is that the store is packed with clothes and the walkway between clothing racks is super narrow, making it hard to get around if there's a good amount of people in the store. The bigger issue for me is that the cashier's are pretty slow with checking people out. A line forms very quickly at this place. read more

Every time I come here... they have no one manning it or they seem unhappy to see you. Go to goodwill. They are normally manned.

All of the employees at this location are very nice. The store is clean, prices are fair, and I love their mission.

Never had an issue here. The staff is always friendly and they do have some great deals. Though my wife and I generally do not purchase anything here, we do look around occasionally for a great deal. The main reason we come here is for a nearly monthly donation of toys, clothes, kitchen, bathroom or other household items. We do not ask for a tax receipt as we do not donate for a personal financial gain or tax break, but we donate from the heart which brings a much greater reward. read more

Called SA advised I had a couch to donate. The next day they showed up on time and removed the furniture. The guys were truly pros.

We just moved up here from south austin, it's been a long process and we haven't had time to unpack. With that said my husband went in and bought a shirt and some shorts, after he paid he went to the bathroom and changed. He was walking away and the manager Josh called after him. Right away he turned to see what the fellow wanted. Long story short he confirmed he had paid for the items by showing his reciept, at that moment "the owner" drove up without knowing what had transpired and said "I want you to leave immediately and don't come back and if you don't leave immediately I'm going to call the police." my husband asked the manager if he did something wrong? Should he show the man his receipt? To which the manager said nothing and looked away even though he had just confirmed that he had paid for the items. All in all it was a terrible experience, and it's like they know they can talk to people that way and that we have no recourse. They were obviously profiling my husband. This review may not give the right tone, we just wanted to give a heads up that the owner is rude and he bullied my husband who is a paying customer. read more

Every Wednesday is half off of the sticker price on all clothing, bought a plethora of nice clothing, my wife got 3 blouses and I got two shirts for a measly sum of $7.00....we love donating and shopping here....they always have a good selection of clothing and furniture. read more

I'm a big fan of non-profits and this one takes the cake. I have gone to this location many times with donation drop-offs and they are quick to collect your goods and write you a receipt. As a customer, I have also been inside and shopped around. They have a good selection of clothes and home decor. I'm a pleased customer and donor of the Salvation Army! read more

Pros: Store was clean and well organized. Ample parking when I was there Con: I went to make a donation, but there was no one there to receive it. There was only a sign that said to put it in the trailer. People who made donations earlier just put everything on the gate, which made it difficult fopr everyone following to place things behind it. I could throw the clothing, but the home goods and I could not, because they would have broken and been a hazard to everyone. I could not throw a 9 X 12 carpet, so I had to leave it outside. There was a receipt book outside for us, but that was it. read more

This locations high end items are very picked over the only way to get top tier brands is to shop daily, resellers pick it clean. Super clean store, well organized with an overwhelming abundance of clothing and nice furniture at all times. Clothing is organized by color and season. The prices are okay, they definitely charge up for popular brands and they don't miss much. Furniture is priced on the higher end for thrift but this location has the best In the area. My only real complaint for this location is that things like coffee makers, kitchen appliances, pots & pans are HUGLY over priced the absolute worst prices around on them. Come for the common clothing items and nice furniture but don't waste your time as a reseller unless you plan on going every single day. read more

This store is my go-to thrift store. The prices are far better than any of the Goodwills I've been to in the area. They also offer discounted prices on clothing and accessories every Wednesday along with discounted items marked with the color of the week every day. Each item is tagged with different colors and the price. They also discount clothing and accessories as well as the color tag discount for the color of week the last Saturday of every month. The color discount of the week applies to everything, not specific to clothing and accessories. So, if the color of the week is blue and they have a toaster oven I want marked with a blue tag, that item is also discounted. Let's say I purchase three shirts of any colored tag, on Wednesday or the last Saturday, they're 50% off and the toaster with the color of the week tag is also 50% off. I believe Thursday is senior discount day for anyone 55+? I'm not certain because I'm not quite there yet. Lol! Most children's clothing is marked $1.99 and adult clothing ranges from 2.99 upwards of 14.99 (that's about the highest price I've seen on a clothing item) The higher priced items are either brand new with tags and a high end brand, or a very high end brand that's in really good condition. The store is very well organized by colors, sizes, and type of products. The employees are very helpful, kind, and usually plentiful. There's no returns, so make sure you try the item on and inspect it for blemishes. Honestly, if I don't try it on, I count my losses and donate back. I'm not too concerned about donating back a pair of jeans I paid a buck or two for. My only disclosure I should offer is that Wednesday's and the last Saturday of the month is super busy! Be prepared to wait for dressing rooms and lengthy check out lines. The good news about those days is the staff remains friendly. :) read more

I had scheduled a pick two weeks before prior. They had given me an status update between 12:30p-3:30pm. They never showed up till 4:30pm. I called twice of the phone number they give you. No answer. Then a different phone number popped up from Mark saying that they will be at my apartment in 15-20 minutes. I'm moving. So I had two large chair, flat 28 inch tv, and a couch (which they couldn't take because they ripe on all three). All they took was the tv. Kinda frustrating system that they have. They have a terrible system for pick up donations. They should at least call people back once they call you or answer their phone. read more

We recently moved to Round Rock and called the SATRUCK for pickup. We were scheduled for the end of the day. For a minute we thought they weren't coming but received a call and these guys not only were working past their regular hours but extremely polite and very fast service. They explained that they had a very busy day and that they had to load and unload the truck several times already that day but would keep working until every scheduled stop was completed. They were two of the nicest gentlemen who were excellent at there job! We feel so fortunate to have them serve in our area. Thank you!! read more

Sending anything to Salvation Army is now off my list. I had a computer armoire in perfect condition (Hooker furniture, paid $2750 5 years ago), two queen headboards (one with a pure leather insert) and a 3x5 rug. All items were pristine but we thought we would like to donate them rather than do something else. We waited a week for the truck to arrive. Not only were the guys rude and acted angry about our items but they refused to take them. My friend warned me this might be the case as she scheduled a pickup for a 4 year old couch (no pets, no kids) and I can attest that was a very nice leather couch with little wear and they refused it stating if there was any sign of use it was not something they would take. That is ridiculous, it's a used item. I understand if the items were worn, torn, stained or otherwise in bad shape but I know my items looked new and hers had minimal wear (btw she sold the couch for $400 two days later). Why bother with Salvation Army if they don't want your stuff? Goodwill will take it and frankly I have had great success giving things away on Nextdoor. I really wanted to make a donation and their own website says they work to provide items to the community or provide them to those in need. Trust me they don't really mean this - the pickup guy told us they could not get top dollar for our stuff so it was not worth picking up. That doesn't sound like helping those in need to me nor servicing the community. I am done with Salvation Army. They should rethink their mission of giving to those less fortunate or probably more to the point they should supervise their pickup guys more closely (they are clearly losing business for Salvation army). read more

Today I attempted to donate a reclining coach, reclining rocker, side chair and a coffee table. The truck driver told me he could not take this crap. The furniture is 2 years old with no damaged. It is a leather suede fabric. The couch needed to be cleaned but was in great condition. The driver told me they didn't have equipment to clean this s***. I am shocked with his horrible attitude. I have never seen such bad behavior from any nonprofit organization. Do not use Salvation Army. Go to Goodwill. Goodwill is awesome Salvation Army sucks. read more

I'm new to shopping at this Salvation Army. Everything was going great. I found cute kids clothes & a couple of dresses for myself. I was there on MLK day & they had "Happy Hour". Everything was 50% off! I got some great deals, but was so disappointed when I got home & realized they staple all the price tags on. So, now some of my great finds have holes in them. I really wish they would use a regular pricing gun & tag on the seems or more inconspicuous areas. read more

I went there this morning, at 9:30am, I got in (door was open) and a lady shouted at me "we are not open!". Since I was already in the store, I asked a gentleman that worked there if I could please just see if they had one specific thing I was looking for, all he said was "we are not open". Oh, "then lock the door or put a sign"... right? That was exactly what the lady who walked in after me said. A person commented that because she does not like how and where the store places their price tags she was going to Goodwill. I would just like to remind people that the CEO of the S.A. Gets no salary while the CEO of Goodwill collects about $700,000 a year before bonuses. I use to work at Conway Human Developement Center. When they hire a disabled person Goodwill pays them around .30 an hour no matter how hard they work. The Goodwill employees are not trained to work with the disabled and this often leads to them bullying and mistreating staff. Goodwill may put the price tags in a better place but their poor business practices as a charitable organization and their mistreatment of the disabled causes me to never darken their door. This is a new Salvation Army store that opened up last summer in Round Rock. It's big and has a big parking lot. It's right around the corner from my office, so when I needed some lamps for my office I paid them a visit. I haven't been to many other thrift stores, so I can't really compare, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It was large, well lit, and well-decorated, and had some of almost everything, arranged nicely. Worth a visit if you need household items. read more
