I dropped off my watch on March 5, 2025 to have the numbers on the face repaired and was told it would be taken care of. It has now been an entire year, and the watch still has not been fixed. Over the past year, I have made numerous phone calls, left multiple voicemails, and even gone into the store in person trying to get a status update. Most of the time there has been no response at all, and when I do get an answer, I'm simply told that it "should be done soon." After hearing that repeatedly for months with no progress, it's clear that this situation is not being taken seriously. What's most disappointing is the lack of communication and professionalism. Instead of providing a clear explanation or timeline, the owner has been dismissive and brushes the issue off, acting as if the delay is not a concern. When a customer leaves a personal item with a business for repair, the expectation is basic accountability and respectful communication. At this point, a full year has passed with no repair, no clear update, and no resolution, despite multiple attempts on my end to follow up. They're located in the corner of a shopping center, with adequate nearby parking. The service was prompt, and their prices are very fair. They even have a punch card for watch batteries (get the fifth free!). On my most recent visit, the clerk changed the battery, then noticed that the watch still wasn't functioning correctly. He took it apart, cleaned the contacts, then tried again. He then showed me the problem, and since he couldn't fix it, he didn't charge me for the battery or the labor. Since about 2010, I've been going to The Watch Man for my watch repairs and battery replacements. This was my first visit under the new owner in a different spot in the same plaza in Poway. Since being bought by a new owner, the shop was renamed "The Watch Lady." I submitted a request to update the shop name in Yelp. Just as before, this small business is set up with a few chairs for waiting customers. They have a small counter with a plastic shield hanging above it for safety, likely a carryover from pandemic times. They do offer a limited collection of watches for sale as well. Jonathan was in the back and came out to greet me as soon as the motion sensor chime went off as I entered. I showed Jonathan my mom's beloved and well-worn Citizen watch with a missing pin in the strap and asked if he had the part on hand to repair it. Jonathan took a quick look and replied, "of course." Jonathan immediately set to working on my mom's watch while I looked around the shop. He finished this simple repair in less than 5 minutes, reset the time of the watch and took a few moments to observe the motion. Jonathan noted that the second hand motion was staggered, which could be from the watch not receiving enough light recently and I should be sure to keep the watch in sunlight to recharge it and ensure it's keeping time correctly. Otherwise, there is a part that may need to be replaced (sorry Jonathan I forgot the name of that part as soon as I left the shop). I thanked Jonathan for his effort and his recommendation. I will note that I was charged a nominal fee for this minor repair, which I paid in cash to save the shop on credit card fees. Jonathan joked that it would be $100 and I was like "ok...wait what?!" All jokes aside, I still find this shop offers the most reasonable rates and friendliness service that I have experienced. I will confess that I was sent here over a decade ago on referral and have made countless referrals to this shop since then. So the next time you need a new watch battery or a repair, please consider this woman-owned small business. If you're lucky, Jonathan will be the one to help you. read more

I have been going to The Watch Lady (Formerly The Watch Man) for years and years for watch batteries and repairs. I can usually get my batteries installed and wait no longer than 5-10 minutes. There are chairs where you can sit and wait as well as a few magazines and retail displays of watches and watch straps to entertain you. The owner is personable. Located in the Aldi/Round Table strip mall in Poway, there's plenty of free parking. I highly recommend The Watch Lady for all your watch needs. read more

Convenient location with lots of parking! In the same plaza as Harbor Freight and Aldi. I found this spot because I was searching for watch battery replacement. He was really fast, and it was a reasonable price ($10 for my watch). We paid cash to avoid credit card fees. The owner is really friendly and polite. He has a sign for new customers that says he's not purposely ignoring anyone who comes in, but that he's working with a lot of small parts that often require his full attention. I had a negative experience at The Watch Lady / A Watch Lady that spanned four years. I do not recommend doing business with them. In December 2019 I dropped off a pocketwatch for repair at The Watch Lady. Without asking me first, this pocketwatch was shipped to a contracted repair store in Riverside and was never recovered because the owner of the contracted store abandoned his business. Over the next four years, I repeatedly tried to get in touch with the owner, Jonathan, so that I could get reimbursed for the value of my lost pocketwatch. I figured that there would probably be delays due to covid and due to a change in the store's ownership. But what I found inexcusable was the lack of communication on the part of The Watch Lady. I tried every means of communication available: email, texting, calling, dropping a note through the mail slot, and even mailing a letter, all of which went unanswered. The owner claims that he didn't want to reply to me because he didn't have any new information, even though all I wanted was confirmation that he was working on solving the problem. The only way I was able to successfully talk with the owner was by physically visiting the store. Over the span of a few months, each time I visited, the owner requested more time. He paid me for the watch in December 2023, four years after the watch was initially lost. read more

Took In 4 watches, mix of Swiss (Tissots etc.), all of which needed batteries replaced. I anticipated having to leave them there for the day. On the contrary, they were fixed and I was out of the door within an hour. More importantly, the price to repair all of them cost less than the price to replace just one when I went to Unicorn. Not sure why Lens Crafters recommended this company to repair my reading glasses (yes, jewelry and watch repair shops can fix glasses as well), but I was not impressed at all with their customer service. Started off well on the phone and spoke with likely the owner/manager, I was originally scheduled to go into the shop and the gentleman called me back and stated he had to close up shop early that day for personal reasons and to text him pictures of glasses to repair instead to which I did the same day. A few days went by and no response so I texted back, a few weeks went by and still no response so I called and left another message and still just crickets. This is where you have to draw the line if it's worth doing business with a company who lacks simple customer service, or to move on to the next company that actually want's your business. A courtesy call or a text message back would have been nice. You may have better luck with watches instead, but definitely not repairing of glasses as it was a complete waste of time.
