Here's the deal. Getting waxed isn't a pleasant experience. However, Jennifer made an awkward situation very tolerable by being very matter of fact while she walked me through her process--which is unlike anything I've ever experienced. There's a three-step process you handle before she gets started (while I won't get into the details I will say that having took a low-dose edible before for the pain I was slightly overwhelmed by the steps). There's also a breathing technique that I was at first a little thrown off by (it involves eye contact) but it was one of the least painful waxes I've ever had (also, her attention to detail and three-step process has made for bump-free results). I know I will be repeating the same things everyone else has already said, but Jen is so amazing and deserves as many five-star reviews as possible! A couple years after an awful first Brazilian Wax experience, I was ready to give it a go again with a different esthetician. My best friend recommended Jen as the most gentle wax she had ever had so I took the plunge! Jen made me feel as comfortable as I could possibly be. We worked on a plan together to prevent ingrowns and folliculitis, what I had dealt with in the past. I was pretty tender during the wax and as soon as she noticed me flinching, she offered her fun and super effective breathing technique. It made the remainder of the wax so much more bearable. She took extra precaution to prevent post-wax issues and although I did break out slightly, I emailed her and she responded promptly with a suggestion and it helped immediately. My boyfriend and I went to Jen for over a year while we lived in the area. And now that we're moving back, we excited to finally have a great massage again. Jen allows you to pick a oil/scent to be mixed into the massage lotion. She carries a variety which all have different benefits to the skin. And she gives you the left overs, so that you can use it at home. Jen's facility is clean, inviting and relaxing. She is always very professional and attentive to your needs. While I have been living in Sacramento I tried to find a good massage therapist, but nothing ever compared to Jen and her reasonable prices. I was in town visiting from Los Angeles and it was time for my wax. After a quick yelp search, I was able to schedule (and reschedule) my wax easily through the messaging feature on here. It was my first time trying hard wax and I was a little nervous but Jennifer taught me her breathing technique and it helped tremendously. She had me wipe the area with a cleansing wipe, massage olive oil in the area, then wipe the area down with a paper towel. I had never had someone do this but I could tell the olive oil made a difference in terms of tugging. The wax was definitely painful (as you can imagine), but it wasn't unbearable.
