On a cold afternoon, I went to visit the newly opened Savage Tap with a buddy of mine. They opened in the old Loons Landing Brewery location. So they have plenty of space on the inside for private events, or just to get away with a group of friends. They are dog friendly inside, have a host of their own beers, and also have cocktails / guest taps to make sure that everybody has a beverage to enjoy. I had a flight and a small pour of a handful of their beers: Haze of Glory - A Hazy IPA Bear Hug Brown - American Brown Ale Vern's Voyage - A Fruited Wheat Beer with Raspberry A Blonde Moment - American Blonde Ale Bullpen Session - Lefty - A Session IPA _____

There is a new brewery in Savage! The former Loons Landing brewery has been reopened under new ownership as The Savage Tap. The space is absolutely beautiful. They did an incredible job revamping the taproom and making it their own. I was honestly blown away. Definitely a comfortable, warm and inviting place for a few beverages. Along side a handful of house-made beers they also offer guest taps and cocktails on tap. The Bear Hug Brown ale was among my favorite. There is also a small food menu including pizza and soft pretzels and other bar snacks. I will definitely be back!

Friendly service, family and dog friendly, great craft beer and cocktails. Food trucks every night. Live music and bar games. Plenty of space inside and out.

Gorgeous space with darts and pool table... dogs welcome too! And they are adding a golf simulator. We are not big beer drinkers but we enjoyed the spicy margarita and the spiced apple mule and they were delicious. The owner/staff working was super friendly! Soon to add THC drinks as well. They have snacks and pizza on hand but also bring in food trucks regularly. We will definitely be back! PS they have pull tabs

Nice place, nice people and good beer. However, if you going to advertise a certain food truck is going to be there. It should be there.

I imagine it would be really nice in the spring/summer as there is a horse track right outside of the restaurant which would provide a great view to a race. It definitely got a little loud just sitting inside They had a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. They also offered a great and surprisingly extensive Happy Hour Menu which we got there in time to take advantage of.  We got the burger and thought it was very tasty, we love a good caramelized onion. I thought it definitely needed some ketchup to balance out the heaviness of the onions and cheese with a little bright acidity. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule. However, it was served in a plastic spam cup which elevated the whole experience. Margarita - 9/10 Very good margarita - we were told it was a house made margarita not from a mix. Very bright and fresh flavors that definitely let the tequila shine. Overall would definitely recommend!

All of it was delicious! The brisket was extraordinarily tender. The sausage had a delicious kick to it and was juicy. The pulled pork had a wonderful smokiness to it and didn't need any bbq sauce. The restaurant itself is very clean and everyone was very friendly. Oh...and the Diet Coke was great! We will be back! Chef's kiss!

This place is located in Shakopee and is next to Canterbury Downs (horse race track) and an amphitheater. It shares a smaller lot with other businesses, so parking can be a bit tricky. We were greeted by a friendly host and she immediately sat us. The waitress/bartender came over right away with water and asked if we wanted anything else. We said we would take a look at the menu. The drink menu however was blank... like nothing inside. When we alerted the waitress she laughed and said "oh well that's not great." But didn't do anything to fix it. We originally said we were going to stick with water but the water was gross! So we ordered sodas instead. The decor here is cute and it appeared to be clean/well taken care of. There are a lot of seating options between booth, high top and low top as well. They also have a fair amount of big screens and pull tabs. This place also smelled amazing but the food just did not capture that. We started with the smoked wings and got the sauces on the side. My boyfriend really liked them. I felt they were just ok. They were moist and a decent sized wing, but lacking any real smoke flavor. The garlic parm sauce was our fav and the ranch here is solid. We got the little pig. Another person noted "bland" and unfortunately we agree. There was absolutely no flavor the any of the meats! This place has the word "smokery" in it, and yet no smokiness at all. The other strange part was the texture. The pork and ribs were both mushy... my boyfriend said it was giving, "reheated" vibes. I don't know if that's true, but I've never had meat have a texture like that. The brisket in my opinion was actually decent. Though I wish it had more flavor, the texture was pretty good. The corn bread muffins were excellent and the sweet potato fries were also good. This place relies heavily on you putting lots of sauce on the meat, that's where the flavor comes in. I didn't care for the sauces very much either though. Unfortunately this was a let down. When you spend over $100 for food, you are expecting a quality experience. We will not be back.

I have been here two times in the last week and lemme tell ya.. this is quite the spot. I do suggest making a reservation because everytime I go here it is popping! What a vibey place, the lights aren't too bright, it gives a hip, fun, light energy and is not too pretentious but has INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DRINKS. Right now, one of their specials is whitefish toast.. if you enjoy fish at all, you need this. The fish is light and fresh, they put fresh dill on top and it is placed on top of some toasted sourdough bread perfectly. The fish is flavorful, a lil earthy and I feel as if there are capers or olives in in the fish mixture, whatever it is is fire! The burrata, beets, and citrus is a nice lovely, fresh, light app, the burrata is perfection with the beets and fresh, juicy citrus, drizzled with some oil and random pieces of garlic mixed in, YUM. I suggest ordering bread on the side with this one! The wings here are a staple and always delish. Crispy, hot, and coated perfectly in a light sweet chili sauce.. they hit the spot everytime. The housemade ranch is a perfect dipper. The other day I tried the chorizo and scallops... oh my goodness gracious.. it was a lil spicy and creamy with the bean puree and the scallops were buttery, light and divine! 10 outta 10 would do again. Finally, got the goat cheesecake, gluten free ginger snap crust with poached pears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want this now and in every lifetime! The cheesecake was light, yet decadent, deep, creamy with a light, unassuming flavor. The crust was delicious and the poached pears added that perfect fruit component. I got Liam as my server both times, he was helpful, attentive, had good suggestions when asked questions and didn't interrupt at all, amazing! This is the spot for any occasion!

Parking was easy enough to find on the street. We weren't able to find a reservation online, but had no problem walking in on a Saturday evening. We were able to grab a standing spot at the bar. The host asked us a bit later if we'd like to sit down at some bar seats that opened up, which was very kind! I ordered the martini du jour and am obsessed. If you like martinis, this is the spot for sure! Looking forward to retuning!

The inside is gorgeous: dark grey wood everywhere, very modern, and smells amazing from the moment you walk in. I love that it's in the space that used to be Cuzzy's Bar and Grill; the renovation really makes it feel like a whole new place. I ordered the cornbread skillet and a chicken sandwich (I asked for bacon but didn't get it). The cornbread skillet was excellent -- my partner had cheese curds that were melt-in-your-mouth, i love when places paor curds with the blueberry dip. The chicken sandwich was awesome: quality chicken with a super crunchy breading, and the tomatoes had a little pepper seasoning which made it stand out from your usual sandwich. I also tried their Mac and Cheese. Thats pretty good its dauced just right and i think its pimento cheese. Partner also tried chicken and waffles, which he enjoyed but said it wasn't his favorite -- not really a chicken-and-waffles guy. The sweet potato fries were tasty, though a bit soft rather than crispy. Service was fantastic. Our server was very sweet, attentive, and helpful with suggestions and questions. The bathrooms were clean, and the bar area looked well done. The space is much bigger than the old restaurant, with more booths and seating than I expected. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I would definitely come back to try more off the menu -- everything looks tempting. A wonderful spot in Chaska that's worth visiting. Go visit!
