On a cold afternoon, I went to visit the newly opened Savage Tap with a buddy of mine. They opened in the old Loons Landing Brewery location. So they have plenty of space on the inside for private events, or just to get away with a group of friends. They are dog friendly inside, have a host of their own beers, and also have cocktails / guest taps to make sure that everybody has a beverage to enjoy. I had a flight and a small pour of a handful of their beers: Haze of Glory - A Hazy IPA Bear Hug Brown - American Brown Ale Vern's Voyage - A Fruited Wheat Beer with Raspberry A Blonde Moment - American Blonde Ale Bullpen Session - Lefty - A Session IPA _____

There is a new brewery in Savage! The former Loons Landing brewery has been reopened under new ownership as The Savage Tap. The space is absolutely beautiful. They did an incredible job revamping the taproom and making it their own. I was honestly blown away. Definitely a comfortable, warm and inviting place for a few beverages. Along side a handful of house-made beers they also offer guest taps and cocktails on tap. The Bear Hug Brown ale was among my favorite. There is also a small food menu including pizza and soft pretzels and other bar snacks. I will definitely be back!

Friendly service, family and dog friendly, great craft beer and cocktails. Food trucks every night. Live music and bar games. Plenty of space inside and out.

Gorgeous space with darts and pool table... dogs welcome too! And they are adding a golf simulator. We are not big beer drinkers but we enjoyed the spicy margarita and the spiced apple mule and they were delicious. The owner/staff working was super friendly! Soon to add THC drinks as well. They have snacks and pizza on hand but also bring in food trucks regularly. We will definitely be back! PS they have pull tabs

Nice place, nice people and good beer. However, if you going to advertise a certain food truck is going to be there. It should be there.

We have gone there several times either to take a class (sourdough making class), grab some pints with friends, or play trivia.

I imagine it would be really nice in the spring/summer as there is a horse track right outside of the restaurant which would provide a great view to a race. It definitely got a little loud just sitting inside They had a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. They also offered a great and surprisingly extensive Happy Hour Menu which we got there in time to take advantage of.  We got the burger and thought it was very tasty, we love a good caramelized onion. I thought it definitely needed some ketchup to balance out the heaviness of the onions and cheese with a little bright acidity. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule. However, it was served in a plastic spam cup which elevated the whole experience. Margarita - 9/10 Very good margarita - we were told it was a house made margarita not from a mix. Very bright and fresh flavors that definitely let the tequila shine. Overall would definitely recommend!

I have been here two times in the last week and lemme tell ya.. this is quite the spot. I do suggest making a reservation because everytime I go here it is popping! What a vibey place, the lights aren't too bright, it gives a hip, fun, light energy and is not too pretentious but has INCREDIBLE FOOD AND DRINKS. Right now, one of their specials is whitefish toast.. if you enjoy fish at all, you need this. The fish is light and fresh, they put fresh dill on top and it is placed on top of some toasted sourdough bread perfectly. The fish is flavorful, a lil earthy and I feel as if there are capers or olives in in the fish mixture, whatever it is is fire! The burrata, beets, and citrus is a nice lovely, fresh, light app, the burrata is perfection with the beets and fresh, juicy citrus, drizzled with some oil and random pieces of garlic mixed in, YUM. I suggest ordering bread on the side with this one! The wings here are a staple and always delish. Crispy, hot, and coated perfectly in a light sweet chili sauce.. they hit the spot everytime. The housemade ranch is a perfect dipper. The other day I tried the chorizo and scallops... oh my goodness gracious.. it was a lil spicy and creamy with the bean puree and the scallops were buttery, light and divine! 10 outta 10 would do again. Finally, got the goat cheesecake, gluten free ginger snap crust with poached pears. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I want this now and in every lifetime! The cheesecake was light, yet decadent, deep, creamy with a light, unassuming flavor. The crust was delicious and the poached pears added that perfect fruit component. I got Liam as my server both times, he was helpful, attentive, had good suggestions when asked questions and didn't interrupt at all, amazing! This is the spot for any occasion!

The space is bright and sunny and I don't think there's a bad spot in the house. Service has always been attentive and most importantly, I've literally never had anything that wasn't delicious. This time, we ordered the coconut shrimp to start. They were so crisp and juicy and large. This is something that we get many places because it's my husband's favorite and we both agreed this was our favorite coconut shrimp so far in the Twin Cities. I got the Asian slaw salad with Aji tuna. I've had this before, it is so good especially the shoyu dressing. It sounds boring to come here and get a salad, but it's just delicious especially with the crunchy macadamia nuts. My husband got the loco Moco with short rib and loved it. We got fries on the side. The kabayaki aioli was so unexpected and good! The fries were hot, salty and crisp. Solid fries on their own. We also asked to try the ghost pepper aioli, which was fab and not too hot.
