Well we didn't know what to expect but had heard good things. The beer was good. The venue was good. We ordered food from the down the street and that too was nice. The staff was great. Helpful. And chatty enough to make you feel welcomed. We liked the layout and the connected coffee option because as much as I like a beer I need a lot less than most people. Light weight doesn't start to define me. They had a visiting food truck too and an outdoor area. It not quite enough shade to choose that when we were there. We visited this brewery to attend a fundraiser for Mission Animal Hospital. We were playing bingo and drinking beers. It was so fun. The place is very dog friendly and there were so many well behaved pups all around. The beers were delicious. I had a #1 (ipa) and #12 (milk stout). I loved them both. Staff was great. Bump for Untappd Badge Maybe an actual three Feeling generous Unmapped meet Untappd. Nice to see that Unmapped is doing well enough to afford the 50 bucks a month or whatever it is to buy an Untappd Local Badge. Given its location, I get here a fair amount given my work locations over the past eight years. They have an occasional banger here and there. Usually, in the Woodwinds series that they do. Their Belgians also do the trick most of the time. Otherwise, mostly three star range on most of the 71 beers I've had there. Most often they have a food truck. Phone charging available under the bar...always a huge plus. Dog friendly and kid friendly...wait maybe this should be a three. read more

This was an easy place to find and provides plenty of free parking! The vibes here are very chill. There is a ton of seating here and there is a small patio out front but it just looks into the parking lot. The service here was ok. We came in with a "pub pass" which allows you to get a free pint. The person who served us just looked annoyed that we were using them.... There was a pizza truck out front, so check to see what will be there when you go! The beer itself was pretty good. I had a sour that was flavored with cranberry and it was fairly refreshing. Overall this place is worth the stop if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here. read more

The parking lot was pretty full when we arrived, but we found a spot. There was a food truck there and we ordered food from there. Between the 4 of us we tried a few varieties and we liked the flavors. It's a great family friendly and dog friendly place. I contacted the brewery when planning my husband's birthday and got in contact with Jason (who was amazing btw!) The entire staff was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. They checked on us constantly and our guests told us multiple times how much they loved Unmapped and plan to go back. The brewery had something for all my guests, even those who don't drink beer a ton. For the party planning portion, Jason was very responsive and had our tables reserved and easily marked so I could come in and get to setting up right away. Unmapped is our local brew pub. Very good beers, nice big space, and they are always hosting fun community events (bike rides, concerts, trivia, fund raisers, etc.). Happy hour starts at 8:30 pm and that is a great way to save some $$ on great beer. Their No Trace IPA is one of my favorites! One of my favorite places to hang out, get work done during the day, or relax and eat some takeout. They've got a huge, dog friendly taproom and patio with plenty of space for seating and events. I can call ahead to reserve a long table if you've got a large group. They get busy on weekends and during events so be prepared for it to get loud. The owner is often serving up brews and everyone I've talked to is incredibly welcoming and helpful. Great beer and better people. The do a lot of rotating small batches so check back often. They've got a decent amount of parking but it's one way for some of it and can be tricky. They share a space with one of my favorite coffee shops, Base Camp, where you can order coffee or beer any time the cafe is open. No kitchen but some bar snacks and nearby options if you're hungry. read more

Unmapped is a great spot for fans of good beer and their 4-legged friends. We love that our pup Griff can come into the brewery with us. Beers are great and they have a wide selection. Taps rotate, but my current favorites include Low Vizibility (hazy ipa) and Purgatory Pilsner. Snacks are available for purchase and food trucks are available sometimes. There is also a great empanada restaurant just a few doors down. Seating indoors includes tables, high tops and bar seating. There is also a large patio for days when the weather is good. Some staff is very friendly and welcoming. Some, not so much. This is one of the places we choose to sit at tables vs the bar. read more

Unmapped has excellent beer, but they need to reign in parents that - for some reason - bring their 5+ children, where the parents and children alike confuse Unmapped for a Chuck-e-Cheese - to a brewery. Most of my experiences at Unmapped have been pleasant, but on a nice day, parents bring their brood to a BREWERY, so they can run around inside like animals, destroy the shuffle board while disturbing everyone inside, while they negligently drink on the patio, ignoring their pre-teen boys playing Buck Hunter so they can guffaw at women in bikinis (a feature of the game) before they're even old enough for their balls to have dropped. I come from Las Vegas, where family entertainment has often been *inside* casinos - and yet I've never seen children act like such animals as I have on a weekday: yelling, running around like a brewery is actually a playground, screaming, and even messing with AV equipment intended for a 7:30pm trivia night, while being neglected by their drinking parents. Shameful, and I hope the owners of their establishment consider empowering the staff to kick out neglectful parents that ruin the experience of Unmapped for civilized people. read more

A spacious beer hall atmosphere with many choices of brews. The large wall menu shows the alcohol percentage of each brew. Tried the lowest alcohol content ale and it was smooth. On a warm day the doors are open to the patio which has over a dozen tables. There was a food truck in the parking lot which didn't seem to be doing much business. A friend of mine recommended this taproom for a place to try with my wife and her world famous meat and cheese trays. This time she added olives and pickles to the mix. So delicious. I ordered the flagship IPA, the No Trace. Not super hoppy, but super well balanced. Great aroma. A stellar go to beer. After some more prosciutto and some specialty cheese from Costco. (My wife even made a spiced up goat cheese blend with Kickin' Chicken from Costco in it. Could be the best spread ever.) I finished it off with a special Wheat unfiltered apricot beer they had on tap. The apricot was evident more at the finish, but is was a perfect beer. They only had three crowlers left in the fridge, so I am guessing this is a pretty special beer. It was. Great bartender and I got two free stickers. Free stickers go a long way. I trade them with my brother-in-law. Tough life. read more

What can I say....ashamed? I finally stopped in yesterday and it was such a fantastic inaugural visit I am ashamed I've spent years brushing off friends who insisted I get way over to Minnetonka to try Unmapped!! Upon arrival I began chatting up beertender Jason about everything craft beer and all of their taps. Quickly decided "if I'm going to drink my way through the list, build me my first flight for what to start with." Jason did and directed me which order he would drink them in. We discussed the No Trace IPA and Jason said I wouldn't like it. Assuming I wouldn't I insisted it be included as I'm trying to appreciate IPA's and flights are small enough pours. Jason & I built the second flight and after that I was getting full and thought I should quit while I'm ahead. We discussed sours and how I prefer tart... tart as in the hair on the back of your neck stands up like with wasabli. Well Unmapped... your Cherry Lime Sour demanded I slap the bar whilst shouting "YASS!!" ha. It had the tart I look for!! The Quadruplication, a perfect Quad, coupled w dangerously sneaky.... does NOT drink like a 10%!! Watch yourself!!! Another favorite, that left me saying "yassss this one!!!" was the Cocoa for Coconut!!! Perfectly sweet. As I told Jason I had a few favorites, the medal winning No Trace I would likely never order but the rest? I would order any of the other nine!! WELL DONE Unmapped, WELL DONE!! A lot of natural light in the comfortable & inviting, well spaced out large tap room. I asked Jason how the name Unmapped came about? It was a simple but fun reason. THANK YOU Unmapped for such a lovely and delicious afternoon!! Already looking forward to my next visit where I will drink the beers I didn't try and some of my favorites from yesterday!! As I told Jason, no matter how good or bad the beer is, 90% of why I return to a tap room is for who's behind the bar. Great brewery and great space! Went on a Monday night without the kids (yay!) and had a lovely time. It wasn't packed which was nice, but there were enough people there, that I didn't feel like an odd man out drinking beer on a Monday. I noticed that people brought their dogs - so its pet friendly! The have some really good beers - from what I understand generally 7-8 that are always on tap and 7-8 small batch or seasonal beers. I had their pilsner and pale ale, both very good. You can bring your own food or get food from their various foodtrucks they have. I understand there is a pizza place and empanada place in the center as well. read more

A somewhat newish microbrewery on Excelsior Blvd and just west of the I494 in the Minnetonka side of town. If you're hungry, a couple excellent food options are located next door in the same strip mall. You can pick up empanadas from DelSur (former YEE spot!) or have pizza delivered from Gina Maria's. In terms of COVID-19 preparedness, noticed they had a well spaced out layout for customers to place orders at the bar. In previous years, they had foosball and shuffleboard for customers. Currently all of that has been put away for health reasons. This is a pet friendly establishment with seating for indoors and outdoors. Multiple TVs are setup to watch sports. Overall, employees are very friendly and beer is well priced. I usually get the Quadruplication (Belgian quad) but most recently, I tried the Low Vizibility which was a refreshing NEIPA style beer. We had had spent the day being a tourist in our own state and got back late. We decided to order a pizza from Gina Maria's and then get a beer from the brewhouse while the pie was made. Great part of this beer joint is relationship with with restaurants that are nearby. We live within walking distance, but, have only been there one other time. This must change!! The atmosphere is super casual. We walked in on Pups and Pints night. Who doesn't love a bat full of dogs? I loved the whole scene. Dogs to pet and games to play if you really are hanging. First time we were in there were so many IPAs? This time more lagers and ales. Very tasty. And in the time it took to drink our beers our pizza was done!!! Must return! read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by Unmapped. We went here for a work happy hour, and I will say that I honestly was not expecting much. The taproom itself is tucked into the end of a strip mall. There is a decent amount of parking but it can be tight if the center/brewery is really busy. They have a nice spot right up front for a food truck and an outdoor patio area for nice days. The vibe is super relaxed and I totally dug the outdoors, North woods, map theme. You would think I would have figured that out from the name, but apparently I was not having a particularly sharp day. So the taproom itself is well-appointed and spacious. You get to see enough of the brewing equipment that it's clear they make the beer on site but not so crowded that you feel like the equipment is IN the bar. The bar itself is nice and spacious and the barkeeps have all been friendly. There are big long wood tables that are super welcoming and pretty comfortable for bench-style seating. If I have any complaint here, it's that the benches are really heavy! But my favorite feature by far is the huge wall-length map on the far wall. It's awesome, and I really dug the little Unmapped icon that (I presume) is located accurately on the map. So the beer! The beer was pretty good. My favorite is the apricot sour, which was so good that I had to drag my husband and a friend back the week following our work happy hour so that I could have another one and introduce them to the place. In all, a very solid place for a beer and a fun place to have one too. I can't wait to taste more of what they have to offer. We will be back. read more

Being an out-of-towner, I wanted a brewery close to the hotel where I was staying at. From a guy in LA where there are lots of craft beer choices, I was pretty picky. This place for a late Saturday, was my go-to choice. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their beers and decided to try almost all of their beers. I think one that stuck out was their Coconut IPA. I can probably have much more of those. For a beautiful city and excellent beers, I'd come back here. Picked up a glassware for a friend back home, they gave me sticker! I love this place. When I find myself back here again in the future, I know I'll come back. There is a food truck that come by but I guess I missed it. However, there is an excellent pizza place literally right next door which is really good but I'll save that for another post. I used to be a huge fan but recently their beers have become a little one note and are trending toward the overlapped unbalanced that so many Minnesota brewers use as their guide. I get it, this state loves its over-hopped beers and you need to target the money but it doesn't make a beer great. I wish these brewers would spend a little more time traveling Europe and learning how to build a better beer. (Blacklist Beer in Duluth is a great example of balanced unique beers.) I used to buy their Topo Wheat in kegs and keep it on tap but it too seems to have drifted.. a wheat should not taste like an IPA and this one is slowly going that directly. Having said that the location is great, their logo is one of the best, the people are friendly and I will just hope the trend toward hops is just a fad. read more

Unmapped features Belgian and American ales. They just opened so we're not familiar with their seasonal varieties, but they promise special releases throughout the year. Unmapped welcomes families with a variety of locally-produced sodas for kids and those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages. Water is free! The Friday we visited the place was jammed. The concrete floor, hard walls and metal ceiling combined to raise the noise level to shouting level. We were fortunate to find a table outside. I can't imagine what it will be like in winter. Unmapped does not make its own food. Gina Marie's Pizza, located in the same strip mall, offers a discount on pizzas and will deliver your order to Unmapped. Additionally, the brewpub features a food truck schedule featuring a variety of local favorites. The Friday we were there, Del Sur Empenadas and Lomitos was there. This brewery offers beer, games, children and dogs. As a child who drank Old Milwaukee and played pick-up sticks with my grandpa, I can appreciate establishments that cater to that type of childcare arrangement. All jokes aside, this place is one of those shiny new breweries with lots of open spaces. There is lots of seating for small and large groups. It is a nice place overall. They do not serve food which is why I guess dogs are allowed indoors. They do offer snacks for purchase. Lots and lots of games available to keep you and your children entertained. I don't have children but I could see coming here with people who do as a more socially acceptable way to drink with your kids rather than hitting up the corner bar. Beers are ok. I didn't love them personally but they are drinkable. I ordered a sour and thought it was too filtered and didn't have a tart enough taste. There are a variety of Belgian styles to choose from and a couple IPAs. The others in my group enjoyed them a bit more than I did. read more

So...I dont so much like beer. Or dogs. Or children that arent mine. Unmapped is full of all three of these things and yet I still think this is as good as a brewery gets! Cheers! My husband ordered two different beers and I liked them both fine. The dogs and children kept to themselves, mostly. (C'mon dog owners. Dont let your dog touch a stranger. Ever.) The space is delightful! We came for a large group social, and I think we had a table reserved but I cant be sure. Definitely several groups like ours present on a weeknight. The husband and I finally made it over here today to check it out. Today also happened to be their 1st birthday celebration. There were multiple food trucks, live music and games and a dunk tank in the parking lot. We had a great time but will need to return on a regular day to see what it is really like. And park in the lot that holds about 20 cars. Prices were on the lower side and we were both satisfied with our choices. I honestly cannot remember the name of everything we tried. They only offer flavored pretzels ($3.00) but you are allowed to bring in any outside food you like. They are located in a strip mall that has a Gina Marie's pizza. Darn good pizza and I hear that they will deliver it right to your table at the brewery so that is a plus. We have already made plans to return and do just that. The inside is very large and open with several dozen long wooden picnic table style tables. Yes, it does get quite loud in there but what do you expect? If it bothers you, buy some ear plugs. Or drink alone at home. Expect to sip your brews amongst many, many children and dogs of every breed. You may be surprised to hear that the dogs were much more well behaved than the children. I was not. I choose canines over kiddos any day of the week. They sell hats, shirts, glasses, growlers. Prices for all of those were quite reasonable as well. Hopefully that stays and does not increase along with their popularity. I am sure they will continue to grow and was very pleased with the new experience. Nice little brewery on the Hopkins-Eden Prairie border. The beer is good, although nothing to write home about IMO. I enjoyed their stout and their pumpkin ale, but it's hard to distinguish them from offerings of other local brewers. One thing that does make this place stand out, though, is the food options. They are located in a little strip mall kind of place, with a pizza joint, a burger/casual American restaurant, and a bomb-diggety empanada maker. The latter are just perfect bar food -- spicy, warm, finger-licking good. I think I enjoyed my visit way more because of that. read more

It reminded us very much of a similar place were we are from that has games, picnic type tables...it's roomy, dog-friendly and seems like the perfect neighborhood hangout. They had pretty decent beer! It wasn't anything to write home about, but definitely okay. It's kind of in a weird location, but that's fine. What I don't understand is why they won't fill growlers that aren't from their brewery. I tried to get my growler filled and they refused. I just moved here from Portland where breweries will fill whatever you want. I mean, they are selling their beer to you, right? Why does it matter what you put it in? Don't they want to sell their product? Then the guy said it was because he didn't know what size my growler was. My husband then pointed to where it was labeled 64oz. on the growler. He still wouldn't. I was excited to bring some beer home but I couldn't. The guy working (short and stout bald guy) there even said they have a "policy" but he didn't know what it was. Sounds like Unmapped has their panties in a bundle about this "policy." Might want to get with the times and sell some beer? Just an idea. read more
