The Lobster Pot - Wood fired 'pizza'

Pure and utter disappointment here! I meant to take more photos of the new patio but we were so…read moreunimpressed that we left before we got any. We heard about the recently-opened patio at The Shore Club (called The Lobster Pot) and decided to check it out after a swim on a hot day. We've been here before for concerts and love the location and vibe so we were excited about the great added space outside when we arrived. It's a great set up with a walk-up order style canteen. We saw the pizza oven and immediately decided we had to try one. The service definitely needs improvement. The person at the counter didn't really know what she was doing and staff that was helping her didn't seem overly thrilled or friendly. Only one older lady behind the counter was friendly and seemed to be enjoying herself. We waited over half an hour for a pizza that should have been ready in a few minutes. It wasn't busy at all and the few tables that were being served clearly looked like they had been waiting a long time for their food. I am so glad we decided to order a pizza to share! This is by far the worst pizza we've ever had in the province. What an absolute shame for such an iconic place! It was a pepperoni pizza and the salami looked like it came from a Spam can. The cheese couldn't have been cheese because after one bite, it was all stuck to the roof of our mouths and had the consistency of glue! For $20, we would have been better off at a roadside stand with fish & chips. I would definitely not recommend the pizza. While we didn't have nachos, we did watch tables have them delivered and they looked equally unappealing and small. The best part was the server let our pizza sit on the counter for a while before she figured out where we were sitting. Upon bringing us this dirty wheel, she asked if we wanted plates, cutlery or napkins? Newsflash, that should arrive before the food and it's not usually an option! If you're coming for a drink, you'll be fine, although they were out of most of their non-alcoholic options. Eat somewhere else and come here for a drink afterward just to say you did!

For a place with such limited food options you would think it would be easy to be the best Pizza in…read morethe neighbourhood. Little Jo's pizza isn't bad, but the service and attitude sort of stinks. We once waited for two hours for a pizza. It showed up and they tried to charge us for it even though it was stone cold. I've had calls where I was treated like trash just trying to order a pie. All in all most Pizza in HRM all tastes the same barring some exceptions. They all get the same ingredients from the same Sysco truck, it's a numbers game. This isn't any different.

I understand that a lot of places are having a difficult time due to the pandemic, but Little Jo's…read morehas really gone downhill. We've ordered three times over the past while, and the food is really, really bad. Fish and chips - the fish wasn't just burnt, it was incinerated, and the few fries that were tossed in were undercooked. Pizza was unbelievably tasteless - very skimpy ingredients and cheese...although few ingredients may not be a bad thing, since the mushrooms were really funky. Add to this that I was overcharged two of the three times, and the staff on all three visits were clearly unhappy that they were working, because they didn't smile or use any type of customer service skills they may possess. In fact, they were pretty sullen and even rude. Not even a "thanks for the support", even though I overtipped on two visits, because I know a lot of restaurants are struggling to stay afloat. Oh, and no masks worn by staff, no evidence of sanitizing between customers, and the signage they used to have up about requiring masks, etc are all gone. I'm really sad about this one...ordering here used to be a great experience from beginning to end, and the food was pretty good, but I will vote with my feet and spend my money elsewhere.
