We've been here before for concerts and love the location and vibe so we were excited about the great added space outside when we arrived. It's a great set up with a walk-up order style canteen. We saw the pizza oven and immediately decided we had to try one. The service definitely needs improvement. The person at the counter didn't really know what she was doing and staff that was helping her didn't seem overly thrilled or friendly. Only one older lady behind the counter was friendly and seemed to be enjoying herself. We waited over half an hour for a pizza that should have been ready in a few minutes. It wasn't busy at all and the few tables that were being served clearly looked like they had been waiting a long time for their food. I am so glad we decided to order a pizza to share! This is by far the worst pizza we've ever had in the province. What an absolute shame for such an iconic place! It was a pepperoni pizza and the salami looked like it came from a Spam can. The cheese couldn't have been cheese because after one bite, it was all stuck to the roof of our mouths and had the consistency of glue! For $20, we would have been better off at a roadside stand with fish & chips. I would definitely not recommend the pizza. While we didn't have nachos, we did watch tables have them delivered and they looked equally unappealing and small. The best part was the server let our pizza sit on the counter for a while before she figured out where we were sitting. Upon bringing us this dirty wheel, she asked if we wanted plates, cutlery or napkins? Newsflash, that should arrive before the food and it's not usually an option! If you're coming for a drink, you'll be fine, although they were out of most of their non-alcoholic options. Eat somewhere else and come here for a drink afterward just to say you did!

They also serve full pizzas but don't always have the full menu by the slice. It's located in a great new commercial strip on Duke, nicely decorated with a modern funky look. Service is good, perhaps a bit pre-occupied, but I get it, new business. With sparkling water and tip my order was $20, which is a lot for lunch. But on the other hand one slice would have been enough and the lemon water is free, so my bad. So glad to have a great new option for eating out.

Oh, and no masks worn by staff, no evidence of sanitizing between customers, and the signage they used to have up about requiring masks, etc are all gone. I got a Misty Mint which was mint tea, chocolate and soy milk and an oatcake which were both delicious. My friends had the vegan panini and both said it was delicious too. They have two comfortable couches, a couple of a cute tables and some outdoor seating which has a gorgeous view. I Iove the adorable folk art all over the cafe, particularly the cat coasters.
