Building is across Dixie from the large Costco/Walmart complex. I love candles, was looking for more variety, so I thought that I'd drop by this Canadian company. As per photos, the store itself is laid out nicely. Given the area, I assumed that prices would be more competitive, but prices are in-line with some luxury candles. Definitely more than what you can get at TJX stores and quite a bit more than Bath & Body! A 7oz, 1-wick candle was $36, buy 2 get 1 free! Tiny travel candles were ~$6ea. If I liked any of the scents, I wouldn't have a problem paying these prices, but given the "subtle" scents, I didn't see the value in the pricing. I was barely able to smell some of the scents even holding the candle to my nose! I came in at the same time as another customer who was ordering in bulk and I was ignored. The other customer said that the pricing is better if ordering in bulk. And she also likes the fact that these candles aren't heavily scented as she's not a fragrance person. Although I don't douse myself in perfumes, I don't really see the point in buying pricey, scented candles if I cannot smell them!

I purchased 2 furniture pieces from the company Jan 4th and then had zero contact from them after…read morereceiving the invoice plus additional shipping invoice and paying both in full immediately. I reached out multiple times asking for an update after about a month without response. When I called the store on 2 occasions I was given conflicting information on delivery of the dining table. In my first call around Feb 4th I was told it had shipped. When I called a week later to ask for an update so that I could know when to expect it, I was told it would arrive a few days after shipping. When I prompted that a few days had already passed, I was then told that it would take a few weeks. In this same call when I asked for a refund for the out of stock and discontinued coffee table, I was told to pick a different item. When I asked again for a refund as I didn't want another item, I was hung up on. When I then emailed stating my intention to contact BBB, they sent an email confirming I would get my refund, then ceased communication again (and did not issue the refund). When I escalated the issue to PayPal, the seller then said we had been in communication about me choosing an alternate item for the coffee table, which was a blatant lie. I had asked for a refund multiple times at this point. Regarding the dining table, when PayPal became involved the seller now said it was "on order" and would arrive to their store mid March and would then ship to me. However PayPal investigated and determined the company provided a fraudulent tracking number and therefore refunded my full order. I think it's important to note that while the company I purchased from positioned themselves as "Sterling House", in course of PayPal's investigation the seller provided their email to PayPal as a Furniture Depot email contact. I specifically had not purchased from Furniture Depot due to the concerning online reviews, however it appears that they are the same company, and engage in fraudulent and deceptive business practices.
