I just started celebrating because I got the score I needed for graduate school while writing this…read morereview...already intoxicated but will try to make it readable... Absolutely AMAZING! I have spent so much money on GRE prep services (thousands) but this is by far the best thing that actually made a HUGE impact on my GRE score overall. I cannot say enough about Charles and his ability to teach the material. He is both passionate and constantly full of energy... that's probably an understatement. Although he sometimes goes quickly through the material, he will ALWAYS stop if you have questions on how to go about answering the questions. In addition, he is always adamant about getting the students to text him, calling, emailing, carrier pigeon-ing, with questions that pertain to the material if you are having trouble. The tricks and strategy on ways he taught me on how to approach each question on the GRE test allowed me to answer most of the questions that I struggled with. He is one of the greatest factors that allowed me to put this burden that has plagued my progression in life down like a dirty dog... so dirty... In addition, the online modules that accompany the Princeton Review is exceptional! Not only are both the presenters attractive (not bisexual) but they go over in detail on how to approach each question step-by-step which allowed me to answer most of the questions that came up on the GRE. I can't speak for those who had bad experience from the MCAT or any other test but, regarding the GRE, Princeton Review is what allowed me to get through this test (with the addition of memorizing an a@@ load of flashcards) and able to finally apply to the graduate schools that will allow me to finally be able to call myself doctor!!!

I wanted to give PR a higher rating but this was the best my son & I could agree on…read more Some background...I consider my son bright with a strong work ethic. Prior to taking the SATs his only standardized test experience was the PSAT & without studying scored 1360. I had big hopes for him doing great in his SATs so we went the a PR private tutor ($3200, not an insignificant amount for us) as insurance. I was a bit surprised when he took PRs initial test assessment (1220) but not overly concerned. I figured with private tutoring he'd vastly improve because he had never seen a single SAT question/test. The PR Westwood private tutor dept manager...very professional & always responded quickly & thoroughly. Five stars The PR private tutor...very professional. The studying/homework requirements struck me as a bit lax, I would have expected a heavier workload. I also would have liked a bit more communication especially if there was any inkling that results would underwhelm. Four stars Results...my son took the SAT twice & both times was mid 1300s which was disappointing. To the Westwood office credit, I think they too were disappointed with the first result & offered six additional hours of free tutoring to prep for a 2nd attempt. But the results were near identical, no material improvement. Why two stars? The response from the Student Guarantees office. I thought there was a +150 pt refund guarantee for the tutoring services (so did the Westwood office) but the Student Guarantee office rejected my request. According to them, they take a baseline (1220 for my son) then "We'll then compare your starting score to the score you received on the official test." Fair enough, they don't state what that means. According to the Student Guarantees manager when I asked if PR would be satisfied with their services if my sons score went from 1220 to 1230 under the $3200 private tutoring program, he replied "Yes that is correct, any score increase satisfies the term of the money back guarantee, for the Standard tutoring package." Wow, how many parents would fork over $3200 knowing that? I'm not trying to be trivial but I would have expected a more empathetic & reassuring response from a company that touts their focus on customer results & satisfaction.

I have used many tutors in the past. Chemistry tutors, GMAT test preparation tutors, Calculus…read moretutors, you name it. Throughout my college career I have tried it all and nothing came close to my experience with Tutor Me LA. They are kind, caring, and the tutors are excellent. I even referred Tutor Me LA to my niece who increased 200 points on her SAT! The educational director WORKS WITH YOU and that is why I love them. It was far more than finding me a tutor, but they really got to know me and went to great lengths to ensure I did well and that is something that is rare and deserves to be appreciated. Thank you Tutor Me LA for your help, students like myself truly need your service and you all are doing a great job at ensuring that quality is not sacrificed. Shout out to Melissa, Scott, and Jared for always putting up with me and my last minute request and emails asking questions off the clock. You are all absolutely amazing! Another a great experience!

Don't believe all of the 5 stars! They say they know all the admissions directors at the top…read moreschools and will recommend your child...but if you write a negative review your child will be blacklisted. Another person just wrote me privately to say: "I saw your review for TutorMeLA. I pretty much had the same exact experience, and I was wondering what happened after you had posted your review? Did they reach out again, did they threaten you? I was just wondering if there is any way that we can take this complaint to another place because it's truly not right what these guys are doing. The threats are scary and I honestly believe they should be stopped."

Best MCAT course in Westwood for nearly thirty years. Absolutely untouchable in terms of teacher…read morequality and caring about their students. It's a dying industry, and they refused to go online until COVID said otherwise. But they became a COVID casualty. OUT OF BUSINESS. OUT OF BUSINESS. OUT OF BUSINESS. OUT OF BUSINESS.

The Berkeley Review is an AMAZING MCAT test prep class and I would take it again in a heartbeat…read more(but I do not think I will need to after this class)! First off, some background on myself: I went to a top-tier university, but without a strong foundation in science, I did poorly in my premed prerequisites. I especially struggled in chemistry and biology. This course really gave me the confidence that I needed to take my MCAT and feel like I can actually get into medical school. I am the type of person that needs structure in my study schedule and this was the perfect way to keep myself on top of studying. Todd is a GREAT teacher and made learning about physics and chemistry so much easier than it was in my undergraduate classes. Cecile also taught organic chemistry topics in ways that made so much more sense. Other great teachers included Tarek (who focused on biochemistry) and Alex (who taught CARS lectures). What makes The Berekely Review (TBR) so much more than just an MCAT prep course, is the fact that the teachers are more than willing to talk about their experiences applying to medical school and what they did or what they would not do. Todd is also very knowledgeable in medical school apps and gave amazing advice. TBR felt like family - I met two other students and bonded with them immediately. This helps tremendously when you are struggling through hard concepts and practice exams. Lastly, I was very impressed by TBR's genuine care for its students - always emphasizing that they can spend extra time teaching concepts that we felt needed more review. Todd always welcomed feedback on class structure and showed how much TBR aims to make this a better class for everyone. Thank you, Todd, Cecile, and all Berkeley Review teachers for helping me with my MCAT prep. I know that I would not be getting the scores on my practice tests that I am currently getting without your help! Do not hesitate to sign up for this great course - you will not regret it!!!

My excitement about my son having ISEE prep at Renaissance Kids quickly faded after meeting Frank…read more He is very rude and curt with the children. After I signed my son up, I spoke with former families and even a teacher, and was told that Frank should not be around kids because of his condescending demeanor. I am unable to recommend RK to anyone because of Frank. Anna and Danielle were okay. One last thing. Once I went to drop my son off at the upstairs classroom, and there was not an adult in the classroom, just several unsupervised kids. Anna, Frank, and Danielle were all downstairs. I always walked my son up to the classroom, and I'm glad I did. There should never, ever be a child in the classroom without a RK adult present. On that day I waited until an adult came upstairs before leaving my child for his class.

Renaissance Kids is the ultimate learning institution!…read more I have been coming to Renaissance since I was about 7 years old. Anna, Frank, and Danielle have all helped me succeed in my academic studies. When I was younger, I was tutored in spanish and math. Around the age of 13, I attended ISEE testing camps and when Junior year came around, I attended SAT testing camps, along with private tutoring. I can't remember who taught my ISEE camp, though I remember that Frank ran my SAT camp. Renaissance provided me (and the rest of the students) with the most elaborate binder I have ever owned! My SAT binder was filled with practice tests, explanations, vocabulary lists, latin root lists, and even a weekly agenda that listed the plans for each time our "camp group" met and our homework. ..And the improvements were clearly visible after testing days past by! I have found myself at Renaissance Kids the most during my last two years of high school. Danielle has truly been a friend at hand with my senior essays, including my research paper! The way she thinks and her level of intelligence just blows me away and I can trust her with any question I have with my papers. Renaissance whole-heartedly wants their students to achieve their goals, be happy, and succeed in their futures. I'm definitely going to miss them when I depart for college! Renaissance is not a waste of your time, money, gas, or energy. Give them a chance, I assure you, you will be satisfied!

I would strongly caution families before working with this tutoring company…read more The experience has been deeply disappointing on multiple levels: lack of professionalism, lack of transparency, and practices that feel misleading at best. Revolution provides no clear instructional plan or academic strategy and no visibility into what actually happens during sessions. Full session recordings are not shared, there are no parent check-ins, and after-session email "summaries" are short, unspecific, and completely useless. Like the previous reviewer stated, this company advertises standard hour-long sessions, but in practice they consistently run significantly shorter than 60 minutes, often under 55 minutes. The administrative side of the company is just as problematic as the tutoring itself. When you call, staff are defensive and avoid answering basic questions. The overall impression is that Revolution's priority is protecting the company and avoiding accountability. For a company that markets itself as a premium academic service, the level of professionalism and service falls far short of expectations. Don't waste your time -- at this point, there are so many online tutoring companies that there is zero reason to take a risk with Revolution Prep and gamble with your child's education and time.

Misleading: The company is not well organized, the website…read moreis hard to navigate compared to others, and I found it incredibly deceptive to pay for 12 hours broken into 30 minute sessions, but they only go 25 minutes because of policy. Over time, that means while I anticipated having 720 minutes (12 hours) of tutoring, my child only receives 600 mins (10 hours) due to their practices. I would not recommend this company at all
