This store is a popular destination in Shelburne area. It is a huge store with front side filled with candies, pastries, cookies, local maple syrups, sauces, home good items and more. The left side room has huge variety of apparels, hats and socks. The back side has great collection of gifts, stationary , cards, magnets, posters and other souvenirs. The cakes, cookies and some candies are sold by weight. We bought some unique toffees and gummies from here. I also found some really nice magnets here highlighting Vermont. We bought few of those and some stickers too. This was one of the better quality souvenir store we found in Burlington area. Didn't get a chance to take pictures inside because I was too busy going through all the aisles. By the entrance, there are snacks, chocolate and candies. Cookwares are also in the front. They also have souvenirs (stickers, signs etc). There's a book section with toys. Organic soaps/shampoo by the wall smell very good. I got a soap bar of a local farm. Good quality. At the back, there's a room full of Christmas decorations. Festival spirits throughout the whole year. Overall a great local business for visitors and the neighborhood. The Shelburne Country Store goes back to 1859, according to its brochures, when it was a shoe shop before becoming a general store in 1886. It had seven rooms then, each a separate shop, and you can visit each of the seven now-connected rooms to find a dizzying assortment of "stuff." And by stuff we mean truly an eclectic gathering of apparel, souvenirs of all types, candies, soaps, toys, maple syrups, gifts, and heaps of knick-knacks. In the very back is an attractive Christmas Shop with trees, lights and all kinds of seasonal items. It makes for. very entertaining stop, we think. I stopped in for a few souvenirs, store caught the corner of my eye. I was browsing having a blast looking at all the variety of things...I had an awesome lady come up to me and ask questions helped me pick out some stuff that I missed my first time looking at things and turned out she was the owner!! What a disappointment I had Ordered 3 boxes from them. They ARRIVED in a ripped open thin fed x box. This box was more suitable to ship letters in. I contacted the seller immediately and sent photos to them as per their request. I was sent a prepaid label to return opened the open box and ripped open candy. I was instructed to use the same packing and the new label they gave me. I taped up the hole to ensure the candy wouldn't fall out and put the new label on the package. I sent it back the same day; I am being told the package never arrived. I REALLY wish we'd found this place much earlier in our Vermont adventures. We had a pretty miserable/boring time in Burlington and on our last day, as we're leaving town, we find an absolute gem. The store owners and...their children???? Were super polite and helpful. They took the extra time to talk to us, get to know us, and give us all kinds of advice that we couldn't use as we were leaving (and not likely to return). They had plenty of souvenirs, delicious fudge, and some regional soda that I've never heard of (but twas delicious). No exaggeration these were the most polite people we met on our entire vacation. I ordered a pound each of three different fudge flavors: Dark Chocolate, Orange/Choc, Raspberry/Choc @ $13/lb plus shipping. Two days later, I received it! Taking just a tiny piece of each, my family and I were in absolute heaven! Smooth-as-silk, melt-in-your-mouth, deliciousness, of which, the taste lingered, wonderfully, for quite a while! Among some of the pleasures of being in New England besides taking in the acres and acres of picturesque farm land painted in a kaleidoscope of autumn colors, is the endless charm of visiting the quaint country stores dotting each state. As we arrive by car in the late afternoon, we immediately realize how popular this tiny shop is. Filled to capacity were the limited parking stalls in front, in addition to the spaces lining the street across the way. So we circled the block in hopes of snagging a spot. To our delight, in a short while, we eventually did. Avid shopper or not, there's something interesting for everyone inside this somewhat cramped, compact store. As you walk in, there are chocolates strategically displayed behind an old fashioned glass case, wooden shelves with sweet treats stocked alongside savory condiments, a variety of fruit preserves, and maple leaf shaped bottles of amber colored pure Vermont liquid gold. Wander in further and you'll find artful Christmas ornaments, hand made jewelry, finely crafted mugs, lovely fragrant candles, and a myriad of greeting cards for every occasion. The list goes on and on......toys, bags, potholders, kitchen towels, placemats, sweatshirts, knitted caps, woven mittens, just to name a few. Before you know it, you've meandered through the entire store bringing you right back to the entrance. For those of you who may be wondering, there is a fairly clean, single restroom facility located within a side hallway. Nice of them to provide this amenity for their patrons. read more

Packed. Eclectic. Local. Awesome. Leave no stone unturned. This awesome shop is a magical little place that somehow magically seems way bigger on the inside than it appears from outside. Don't mistake this for just another country store, the place is just filled to the brim with almost everything you can imagine. Each room/section of the store has a theme and almost feels like your walking through a picture book. In the front is the register, a candy, chocolates, and sweets station any kid (or sweet-toothed adult) would dream of, a touristy Vermont gifts section, local textiles and jewelry. Candles, wind chimes, kitchen and home ware in the second room... Continue a long and you will find a room filled with local and natural lotion and soaps. Keep walking and there is a toy and book section and iff to the side, and very easy to miss, is a sale isle. And finally, my favorite, the Christmas room! They even have a music box that plays delightful seasonal music. Seriously, you will be transported. Anyhow, if you think that's not enough they have their own creemee and ice cream section, a room for socks, and should you ever need it, they have balloons and helium! The folks are extremely friendly and helpful. Every time I've gone in I've been pleasantly greeted, and when I have questions (will these cookies make it through customs? What type of wood are these pens made out of? Do you have any other maple products?) they gave excellent recommendations. What do you think of when you see a "country store"? This place was not what I expected, walk in to some penny candy (not exactly a penny but that's okay), the walls full of neat things of all sorts. I loved it. Literally gasped when I turned a corner and saw the store continued even further! I arrived in a Christmas themed room and immediately found a ornament I wanted, then another one and a adorable stocking (I WANT IT) and a cookbook for sweets. Yeah, I'm big on all things Christmas! There were real maple creemees and I got one of those as well. Very good. I will be back again for sure. Fudge, some spices and that stocking are on my list without a doubt. read more

Unbelievably friendly country store! We happened upon this as we were waiting for our wine and cheese tour. This place has it all! A must stop for souvenirs of Vermont. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER - or LACK thereof. They don't respond to emails when there's a problem!!! They charged me for $55 worth of CANCELLED items they promised they'd cancel. When I saw the additional $55 charge on my credit card statement I wrote them THREE TIMES and they NEVER wrote back. About a week later the $55 credit appeared but I'd've appreciated a response. NEXT: I paid $28 for 8 supposed all day suckers (they're hardly HUGE as advertised - smaller than a softball) and FIVE OF THE EIGHT ARRIVED SHATTERED because they shipped in the wrong size box! Now they're refusing to answer my emails AGAIN, because I want a replacement or refund. I've sent them photos demonstrating the obvious cracks in the 5. What good is an all day sucker when it arrives in pieces? Might as well have bought a roll of lifesavers for .50 cents and saved a fortune as you sure can't lick a SHATTERED all day sucker! I really HATE this place because these suckers were to have been the highlight of my grandkids' Easter baskets and not only were they overpriced but they're TRASHED because these doofuses don't know how to pack items for shipping then REFUSE to own up to their mistakes and make things right. So I'm warning you - do NOT give them your business as they've done NOTHING to deserve it. PLUS their items are overpriced and not really all that great. Fun little country store just off route 7. This was my second time going there, so it's the type of place that was worth a return visit. What I really want to praise them for is their fudge, which I tried on this second visit. If you like flavored sugar for fudge, this place is not for you. If you like really flavorful fudge that's not disgustingly sweet, you have to give theirs a try. We bought an assortment of small amounts of chocolate caramel sea salt, pistachio, root beer, hazelnut truffle, salted peanut chocolate swirl and raspberry key lime. Every one was fantastic. To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed. Seems like a tourist trap with lot of junk waiting to fall off the shelves. That being said, they do have a few cool things like maple syrup, maple condiments, unique Vermont products and candy... lots of candy.
