Highly recommend! Chris happened to be in our area when I called. He offered to take a look at our sliding screen door which was inoperable after it had been cleaned by a window cleaning company. We thought the rollers were broken. Turns out, the door had been reinstalled improperly by the cleaning company and was just off the track. Between the drive over, and the quick fix, he literally had it fixed within an hour of my call. What service! I'm hesitant to say this because I don't want people to take advantage of his business. But you should know how ethical this guy is. He didn't charge us for the quick fix (though we did tip). Wow! What a great small business. I called Chris one morning to discuss replacing a screen door on a hard to open 8 foot patio door. The company that made the door went out of business years ago. I spoke with Chris today asking for an estimate for solar screens. He came the same day and provided us with an estimate right then and there. I reasearched and found suntex is the best product out there, which he says is what he uses. He asked if we needed the screens soon as he would not be available for 2 weeks and tomorrow had a forecast of rain. We said no problem about the 2 week wait. A few hours later, we hear noises at our window and look out and see Chris installing our solar screens as the sun is setting. He stated he did not want us to have to wait 2 weeks. Amazing customer service! He installed 6 window screens with 4 on the second level, in less than an hour. The screens looked so great that our neighbor asked Chris to do her windows as well. Chris was actually the third person I had talked to. We had actually visited a brick and mortar store asking for an estimate and had provided the window sizes. They could not provide me an immediate estimate and said they would email me the next day. Thst was 2 days ago. Another company set up the next available appointment for 2 weeks from now just to get an estimate. I highly recommend "The Screen Guys" for your solar screen needs. 1-star rating due to poor workmanship and not performing the full scope of work. We hired The Screen Guys in March 2019 to install solar screens onto approximately 30 windows of our home. We were shown how the screens would be installed. We were ensured by Chris that due to his many years of experience that there would be no issues. The screen would be secured on each window with 4 or 6 tabs that would be screwed in. We were informed that the screw holes would be filled and that there would be no chance of water or anything else infiltrating. Unfortunately, this past April, we discovered that we had water intrusion from the exterior into the interior during the heavy rains. We had water and mold mitigation performed and as part of that process, some drywall and insulation were removed around a window. *We could see that the solar screen screws were screwed directly into the window frames and that no caulking or other water prevention material was used!* We hired a contractor to repair the water damage and to inspect all of the solar screens where they were screwed in. The contractor informed us that only 1 window of the 30 had screws put in with caulking! I advise not using The Screen Guys for solar screens as they will not properly install them no matter how much they may say that they will do so. Update: Chris's response admits that he did not caulk the screws as he said he would. That is necessary since his installation method drills screws directly into to window frame, which subjects them to water intrusion. I had to hire someone else to complete his work. He offered to reimburse me if I showed him the invoice from the other contractor, which I did. In exchange for reimbursement, I offered to edit my review to include his efforts to correct his failure. Chris is irate that I will not remove the review, which is likely why I have not received the reimbursement that he promised to provide. The bottom line is that he failed to complete his work and won't take ownership of that. read more
