His team was on time every day. They laid down paper and a protective mat to cover our floor and stairs where they walked. They were kind to our family and BOY were they fast! They got the entire job done in about two weeks, maybe less, and cleaned up after each day. It was reassuring that Mike personally knew his team. We felt comfortable leaving them alone in our home. This is our third major project with Millsaw Construction. Mike is legit the only contractor we trust to work on our house (an older home that was remodeled/flipped multiple times). He and his teams take away so much construction stress because he is trustworthy, communicative, and really cares about his clients and their projects. He is transparent in his estimates and explains when something (inevitably) unexpected is found and options with estimates to make it right. He's easy to reach, answers all of your questions, and is realistic about his timelines to start, to reach certain milestones, and to complete. He is there from the start to the very end. The teams that he works with are fantastic-- they know him and have worked with him before. As this is our third project with Mike, I feel like I know them too! This was our biggest project-- replacing all of the windows, flashing, and window sills and frames, fix all of the wood rot from when the old flashing failed, put insulation in, and then re-stucco. Plus we expanded the electrical box and add some outdoor outlets and lights. We basically re-built our house. Mike estimated 8 weeks, he and his teams got it done a bit ahead of schedule. The house looks brand new and I feel even better knowing that the past wrong-doings to our house are fixed. I hired Millsaw Construction to remove a large 4 ft by 4 ft, exterior old-fashioned, leaky window made of glass blocks and replace it with a modern window. Mike and his team were very nice, professional, and good with communication via texting. Where other contractors would try to talk you into expanding the job to re-doing all the walls that touch the window inside and outside, to basically remodeling half the room "just so it's done right", Mike was able to do exactly what was asked for, no more, no less. I just had Mike come out yesterday to take a look at our closets. My husband and I have decided to start upgrading our home after six years (it was time). Getting to our closet doors, I fell in love with the bi-fold doors with a specific design but unfortunately our closet door openings are not the standard size to fit the standard 'sold-in-store' sizes from Lowe's. After getting the run around from quite a few other people, and other companies that rejected to even bid on the job (understandably, it's a rather small job); Mike was amazing about it. I contacted him via message through Yelp and I heard back from him within 15-20 minutes- it was in the evening but he still responded to tell me he was just sitting down for dinner but he believed he could help me with my problem and that he would contact me the following day. Sure enough, first thing in the morning, I had an email from him. He sent me his contact information and through text message we set up a day for him to come out..On a Saturday. How great is that!? It worked so wonderfully for my schedule. He took a look at the two closets I want doors for, he measured..a few times, to be sure; he explained my options. We decided at the time that custom made doors might be the best route so he said that he'd look around and contact a few places and (because most places are closed for the weekend) he'd get back to me the following Monday. Well, Monday hasn't come yet (it's Sunday 2/22) but he even texted me today with pictures of doors he found at Home Depot that would work but are slightly different than they style I wanted. I insisted that I really love the style I had already picked out so that if the quote for the custom made doors where within our budget, I'd really like to go that route...but would keep his suggestions in mind if they end up being more than I'd like to spend on the job. I also asked if he would install little doorknobs that I had picked up from Lowe's while he's installing the doors and he quickly said that he would. I am so grateful to have found Mike and Millsaw Construction. I know he didn't have to take on this job as it is small and I'm sure he could be using his time on a bigger job. I really cannot express how happy I am to have found him. I will update my status once the job is complete but I had to rave about how awesome Mike is for listening to my needs and working hard with my neurotic behind to get this done the way I see it in my head. UPDATE #1- Mike came out bright and early this morning (2-24) to install the bi-fold closet doors in my master bedroom. He did and AMAZING job and the doors look great. He didn't 'just' install the doors. As I sated previously, the doors were not an exact fit...so he had to make the opening wider in order to accommodate the doors. It took him a few hours and the work was excellent. He'll soon be moving on to the doors in the other room that I wanted. After doing the research for me (and a dead end through Home Depot) Mike and I decided together that the easiest and cheaper route would be to have to doors custom made; he's contacting the door company he commonly deals with to order the doors and will be back to install them as soon as they come in. I am SO happy with his work and he is such a nice and patient man; definitely knows how to interact with his clients. I will be back with my final update as soon as my second closet is done. UPDATE #2 Mike just finished the second bi-fold closet doors (3/3/15). They look amazing! He takes his time to make sure everything is done right and to your liking. An added bonus is that he likes to keep your home clean and will do a great job cleaning up after doing his work...which makes me very happy as someone who likes to keep a very clean and organized home. I honestly cannot express how awesome he is. He keeps you in the loop every step of the way making sure to talk to you about any changes in price or product; although he worked very hard to get me exactly what I wanted (and I'm very headstrong) at the lowest possible price. I gave Millsaw Construction a call to install my overhang microwave. The issue was that in order for the microwave to sit flush with the cabinets the granite backsplash that was already there needed to be cut. Additionally, no other company was willing to come out for such a small job and/or complete the cut of the granite on the wall. Mike answered and gave me a couple options that we could go with. He was extremely professional and set the appointment up in a matter of days. They came out and completed the entire install for a fair price.
