So happy with our experience at Seaport Paw! We just moved from DC and it usually takes a few tries before we get the perfect cut for our mini labradoodle, but they pulled it off on the first try! They even asked for a photo of a previous haircut we liked so they could make sure it was right, and had treats for him during the cut. They even gave us treats to take with us, and our dog is OBSESSED with them!! So happy with their services and products. Definitely will be returning!

I'm really happy to find The Seaport Paw since I've moved downtown! Everyone I've spoken to and met with is extremely friendly and professional. They are gentle with my pup - which helps A LOT considering how anxious he can get when he realizes I'm leaving him with a stranger (can you blame him? lol). Most importantly when I pick him up he isn't anxious-looking or trying to run away from the staff - he is just content and happy to see me! And he always comes out looking so fresh and so clean clean :)

Buddy loves the Seaport because he gets to visit his friends at Seaport Paw!

Bring your pup to Seaport Paw! Our 3 month old puppy instantly bonded with the owner, May. It is very apparent that everyone working at this store loves dogs. This store has everything from leashes and grooming supplies to unique chew toys and pet accessories--not to mention, the best treat selection that could rival an old school candy shop. Seaport Paw also provides reasonable grooming services and their attention to detail is immaculate. I was nervous taking my puppy to his first grooming appointment but the staff was so gentle and patient--he had a great first experience and didn't want to leave. Support this local business and a staff that loves dogs as much as you do!

Chewy's first groom since "nyc on pause" she had a lot of build up of fur on her paws and ears where she wouldn't let me cut her. Audi did an AMAZING job cleaning all of that up. She got a cute puppy cut and she also smells really good, its the first thing my husband noticed. She looks so cute and so happy! She came prancing right out of the groomer. He was also very fast which I always appreciate because I feel bad for her when she is at a groomer all day. The staff that checked her in was nice and friendly. Everything was very clean and everyone was wearing masks. So so so so happy they are open safely and chew could get such a great cut!

Been to this place a few times, while they do a great bath and have very nice customer service if you are looking for a specialty breed cut such as a Poodle, it's not their specialty. They cut my dogs face in patches and way too short in some areas, totally not even and made him look ridiculous for 10 days while it grew back. What's worse is the response we received once complained, basically stating we're not welcome to come back. Basically they would not admit the groomer cut him poorly, even though it's pretty clear with the black circles around his eyes making him look like a panda and the uneven white patches he has. All we asked for was a partial refund being that they charged $150 for a BATH and face shave (can't imagine the price for a full groom..). Ridiculous as we actually planned on bringing him back and simply not allowing them to cut him. Lost customer on their end. ADDITIONALLY he arrived home with cotton balls lodged in his ears, pretty deep!

I can't recommend seaport paw highly enough!! May is incredible and the only person I trust with my bernedoodle! We've been taking our pup here since her first haircut, and they are super accommodating especially when I need to squeeze a trim around the eyes. She knows exactly how I like her cut and always manages to keep her looking like a teddy bear even when it's time for her summer haircuts! Her shop has so many great options for treats and toys as well!!

The groomer gave him an adorable bandana, too!

After hearing many of dog-owner friends rave about grooming at Seaport Paw, and after a bad experience elsewhere, we finally took our mini goldendoodle to Seaport Paw for a much-needed groom. I could not be happier with the experience. Not only does our dog look fantastic, but the entire experience was incredibly pleasant. From the moment we walked in the door (before we'd even booked a grooming appointment) everyone there was incredibly welcoming and friendly to both my husband and I and our dog. Our dog was terrified of being groomed due to the bad experience the day before, but he came out from the grooming looking fantastic and happy. I just cannot recommend highly enough. Worth every penny. We will absolutely be going to Seaport Paw from now on! Thank you for taking such good care of our dog for us!

Today was my puppy's 2nd grooming with The Seaport Paw. She looks great and seemed very happy to be there when I came to get her. Everyone I've interacted with at the business has been wonderful! Will definitely continue to bring my dog here!

This place is awesome! I look forward to getting Iris here groomed next time she needs a haircut. We came in today on our walk and the woman working was so kind. She let Iris sniff a bunch of the chews before choosing one to take home and she was very knowledgeable about them! Iris goes through her rawhide type chewies very fast so I was looking for something that would take her longer and they had many suggestions! I also ended up getting her an aromatherapy toy and she's been snuggling it nonstop when she isn't chewing her new chicken bone. It was a successful day for us! Thank you!

Best groomer and people ever! I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner. I used to live on the Upper East Side and I absolutely LOVED my groomer there. I was really comfortable with them and I knew they too good care of my babies so I was really worried about bringing them to a new groomer. But when I met May the owner of The Seaport Paw I just knew by her cherry, kind and animal loving disposition that my pups were going to be in good hands. My pups are (were) seniors. I say were because one recently passed away. The last year of his life he went blind suddenly. He was very scared when he became blind and I couldn't believe it when May sent me a video of him totally calm and relaxed while she was grooming him. He was seriously being pampered and he was loving it! Even though he was blind he totally trusted her and felt so comfortable it literally made me cry. I'm so grateful for the special care she took of him and that she continues to take of my other pup when he is being groomed. Such a great place and great people!

So done. Molly has…read morebeen getting groomed by Laura for eight years. She's an excellent groomer, but she is not great at running her business. Molly has had standing appointments every month, but they're not always followed up, and sometimes, I don't even know when her appointments are. I had expressed my concerns with Laura in the past. Last month, I was supposed to go away on vacation. We had already booked Molly's appointment before my vacation, so I wasn't concerned about it. I asked her for a status update on the day of, and she told me that she had moved her appointment date, and "sorry I didn't update." She didn't even ASK ME if this schedule change was okay to begin with! What the hell? Who is she to just move things around without asking me? When I expressed my frustration at the time, she gave me a very curt/dismissive reply. I called her out on it, then she blamed texting as the reason why it came off that way. Then guess what: work on your texting/communication skills, if that's the way you choose to communicate with your clients. Not to mention that whoever is helping her run the business side of things (Tammy) has been super rude. She even tried to get me to RETROACTIVELY sign a fuel surcharge document for the prior month, when this had never been discussed with me. All of her responses (via text) are super curt, dismissive, and rude. That air of superiority does not work for me. All of the negative reviews about the customer service are accurate. Things were so bad at that time that I texted Laura and said that while I've appreciated everything she had done for Molly, we were going to have to part ways. She and I discussed it, and I was convinced to stay with her. She told me about what she had been struggling with, and I was compassionate to her situation. Things got better for a bit, but not for long. That's the key issue with this place: there is a lack of consistency. Things look "better" for a bit and then drop back into the abyss. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. Her truck needed servicing. I understand that those types of things are not predictable. Of course I would be understanding of this, but each month comes with some sort of issue. It's hard to consider this a "one off" when it happens more frequently than not. I expressed my frustration and she said she's apologized in the past. I told her that this is causing me anxiety each month. Getting my dog groomed, when her schedule is already booked, should not be this stressful. Her reply: "It is unfortunate that you feel that way. The only anxiety I had today was that I could get my truck repaired in time to not let my people down, and that it wasn't a giant bill. It is my hope that you feel better." It was clear from her response that she has no empathy for others, despite being someone who's used her own mental health issues as an excuse for her past transgressions. "The only anxiety that I had today..." part basically makes it seem like she's diminishing my feelings about being dismissed nearly on a MONTHLY BASIS. So apparently, it's only about herself. By her saying "it is unfortunate that you feel that way," it was clear that this is over and that this is completely irreparable. She takes zero ownership and had no insight into the fact that it's not just about today -- everything is additive and I have not seen things go smoothly for a long time. Apologies can only go so far. She also told me: "I agree that it would be nice if things always ran smoothly all the time, but sometimes we just have to roll with it." There's been a lot of back and forth for many years, a lot of schedule changes, a lot of Molly getting dropped from the schedule, lack of communication, etc. I had been loyal through all of it. I've BEEN rolling with it. Yes, of course it would be nice of your clients to be flexible from time to time... but it shouldn't be all the time. The tone of that also feels like she's asking ME to shoulder HER burden. Unfortunately, it is just time to part ways. They seem to charge a missed appointment fee if cancelling less than 48 hours in advance, and whole amount for no call, no show. Apparently, respect or this policy isn't a two way street. If you notice from other reviews, she's lost several loyal clients due to rudeness and lack of reliability. One of the other reviews says that they cancelled him 30 minutes prior to the appointment, using COVID as an excuse - and one of the groomers gave him a snarky reply: "I'm sorry this how you are reacting due to being rescheduled during a National crisis." It's these types of unwarranted, inappropriate, snarky remarks that I've gotten so used to from some of their people. This is clearly the norm of how they speak to people, which it shouldn't be. Perhaps she should spend more time on her business and less on her chickens.
