I was traveling from San Diego to Lax Saturday evening. It was 5:45 and they were able to accommodate me for a haircut. I like to rock a flat top as I have very straight hair. I found the right place! Being so close to Camp Pendleton they know how to cut my hair. The young man who cut my hair did his thing with confidence and being my first time there made me at ease. It is convenient it's right up the street from my house. however the older woman who gave my son a haircut was not nice to us and took a long time to cut his hair, she told me the picture I showed her and the haircut he wants does not make sense it was just a comb cover. read more

My girlfriend and I walked in (clearly lesbians). We asked "do you do walk ins?" And one guy says "yeah." And he looks at his colleague who is sitting in the chair doing nothing and says his name but we couldn't make out his name. The guy in the chair shakes his head no and doesn't say anything to us. Won't even look at us. I'm not sure how to take this any other way than homophobia. Every time I go here I ask for a buzz and a little off the top, these people DO NOT CARE if your hair is buzzed all the way, they'll leave it uneven and styled wrong. What's good about being in the vicinity of a big military base like Camp Pendleton is the necessity to have a decent barber around town. There are actually several here in San Clemente and all within a few blocks of each other...so it was like eeny meeny miny mo when it came down to pick one. I don't normally go to a barber since I cut my own hair, but when it comes down to a major interview, I had to leave the hair cutting to the professionals, and this place delivers. Fast service and they pretty much pay attention to detail in their hair cutting and very meticulous. This place is unisex...not U and I sex...but unisex, family oriented and decent in pricing. Average haircut is about $12, but they have a military discount. They also have a $2 coupon from their website so you can either print it out or just show your phone with the coupon and you get the instant savings. read more

Wish I wasn't recommended this place by my waiter at breakfast. They have no idea what a razor fade is, or a high fade. The barber was clearly finished cutting my hair and was shocked when I ask if that was it. I look like I have a 3 day old hair cut and a fade that looks like steps. There's no fade. Never going back. I'll have to go to another barber to fix this half a$$ job. read more

Generally good cuts but the older gentleman in the back seems to not have a grasp on what is a low to high fade. I asked for a medium low and I pretty much got a high fade and the fade itself wasn't very good. Other than that the other barbers are very good just that particular one in the back just probably shouldn't be cutting in my opinion or if you don't mind having a high fade when you ask for a low read more

Straight up the worst haircut I have ever had. Don't let the older Asian man in the back right corner touch your head. Went in for a 1/2 inch trim. He just mowed me down. My right and left sides are different lengths. My sideburns are crooked. I'm all jacked up. read more

Love this place!! Kristina or Kristin (bad with names) is great! I'm pretty particular about barbers and stuck with one before all the time, that barber moved, tried a few since and was not impressed at all (both at Downtown barber and elsewhere, now found my fav and have a new regular barber with Kristin/Kristina, lol. She will take the time to do a good cut (i have weird cowlicks and she seems to be the only one to take care of them) and i never walk away with mistakes as i have with a guy whos no longer there. I gave a good rating due to my Barber there, other then her the the shop is still great, there are some barbers clearly better then others though. I would give the shop overall 3.5 stars, but increased it because I'm happy with my regular barber. Although they do not accept credit/debit cards, they do have an ATM machine on site, so to avoid the charge, bring cash,i usually forget every time and have to pay the fee. read more
