I look at them like a convenience store for hardware, household, and garden type items. I'm going to pay more money at Ace if I was too lazy, unprepared, desperate, or otherwise in a hurry to get my items at a big box store or on-line & mailed to my front door. It seems like 99 times out of 100 I can get the item cheaper at Menard's, Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, or on-line. But sometimes I'm in too big of a hurry and I didn't prepare ahead of time or order something on line. I have to say, the people are always very friendly and helpful. Lisa G. was an AMAZING instructor - super nice and helpful and encouraging. The space set up was awesome - plenty of light, nice work spaces with adjustable chairs and tables, easy access to power and design walls. Its smallish (I think limited to 8) but so very nice. I will definitely check out some of the open sew times and other classes. I also love the "rewards" program. I always have a couple of bucks I can throw towards my next purchase. They do carry some interfacing, foam and notions, but with the loss of Joann I'd love to see more (more thread for sure, more zippers and thingamabobs). And more evening hours!

The clerks, especially Coleen, were all helpful and friendly. I happen to mention that I have some things I needed to sew on a machine and do they rent a machine for a few hours?? YES !!! And very inexpensively. I signed up, went back a few days later, and got help setting my project up. Colleen could not have been a better helper. I was so pleased. We're talking 40x40x40 at least - that's a f'n big box let me tell you. Stephanie went out of her way to help me find a box. But a box that big is just not easy to find. Peter had a great suggestion of taking packing material which appliances come in, salvaging used boxes, and creating my own box from those. Perfect solution. Daniel and Stephanie helped round up some boxes and consolidated them into an easy way to transport across the store. Stephanie had another great suggestion of using double sided carpet tape to stick the boxes together. Awesome. Not only does Menards have a great selection of products, but at this location they have great people too! One of multiple positive experiences I've had at this Menards.

Surprised they didn't scratch the floor with how lazily they pulled the stove out. Anyways new stove installation means they drop it in kitchen;unless you pay for new wire harness from Lowe's at time of purchase even though I had new one in package ready for the installation as they note in delivery confirmation email. Very disappointed with the lack of respect or work ethic from the Lowe's Installation Team. Likely will never spend another dime at Lowes after this.

But since it was Black Friday, everything was 30% off. And some items were 50% off. Nice! The Hideaway seems to mostly specialize in smoking hardware. So they have tons of glassware, pipes, grinders, lighters, etc. They have some amazing custom glassware in display cases lined up along the front windows (see photos). The prices are amazingly high too. I get it though. They're hand made by talented local artists. If you can afford some custom glassware, why not? They also offer a large selection of edibles. All of the edibles are behind the counter. They have gummy candy, chocolates, tinctures...you name it. They also have chocolate infused shrooms. I asked one of the staff about the "Outlet" part of the name. It doesn't look like a discount outlet to me. She told me the original concept of this store was to be an outlet. But over time, it's just become another, normal location. So you won't be finding any big outlet mall type of discounts. I read a few of the previous reviews. They're really bad, mostly complaining about horrible customer service. But all of these reviews are old. On the day of my visit, the customer service was EXCELLENT. In fact, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Several staff asked me if they could help me out or show me anything. They were all very friendly and super informative. Thumbs up! -Maxx
