This review is for the cashier Maria at Menards who seems to think she's working at Hooters instead of a hardware store. My husband and I shop here constantly for our business, and every time, this one cashier, MARIA goes out of her way to flirt, make inappropriate comments, bat her eyelashes, stretch every conversation like it's a speed date and does the most. We get it -- you like attention. But maybe try ringing people up with the same energy you put into trying to bag someone else's man. Totally unprofessional. It's awkward, cringe, disrespectful, and obvious. If you're more interested in being the store mascot than doing your job, maybe it's time for a career change. Went to menards for cat litter and cat food. They are requiring everyone to wear masks which is no big deal but here is the problem. You got a menards worker yelling at customers at front door to buy a mask and making everyone stand in large groups. Then when you go to buy the mask they are priced at 11 dollars per mask. They are gouging the customer for no reason. We walked out with many other customers after the employee said we either pay for the mask or have the police called to take us away. Loved menards until they treated us like crap. We got no problem getting masks but dont gouge us on them and have an employee treat us like shit. read more

The paint department at the Coon Rapids store is lazy. I just bought sample paints and the kid training this lady told her I can shake my own samples. Then they did not bother to dot the outer lid with some paint. Another gal said there manager told them not to do it unless the customer asks. I said that seems odd, I've never had these issues at the Blaine Menards. read more

We walked around for ever and got no help. The same thing happens every single time we go here. We bought a huge order to build a deck and was disappointed with the quality of wood that was delivered to our house. We had to return quite a bit and within the summer a lot of it had split. We would probably continue to go here if the service was adequate but it's terrible. We walked up to the lumber desk today to ask a question and there was a guy just standing there and didn't even say hi. I finally said, 'let's just got to home depot' when he finally asked us if we needed any help. He could not help us or give us any other suggestions so we left to go to Home Depot which will most likely be our new place to go. With the exception of one man. They have the worst customer service. They had over 5 service people personally hanging out at the desk. ONE was a manager. I had to go to another department to ask for help. He was gracious and knowledgable. He set up my order at the desk were the employees were still hanging out. It was so unprofessional and rude. This happened numerous times and I just moved in the area. If I knew the man's schedule who help me I would go when he's on duty. The money I spent that day deserved better service. Thank you store manager on duty Alex! We purchased a large (and crazy heavy) patio table sunday. It had some damage when we un-boxed. Directions noted to not return to store but to contact the customer service by phone or email. That customer service told me to return to store....needless to say I was frustrated by the back and forth. Alex offered to check the tables they had in stock for damage and have an employee bring it to my house to swap out same day! Above and beyond and greatly appreciated. Cant say the same for the hardware employee I first got on the phone who basically told me I was SOL and if I brought it back and got lucky that they still had one we could do an exchange...WTH? read more

I had to buy a mask THAT GOT TAXED. Then got ID'd by an employee didn't look much older than I am. I went into the store for one sole purpose. To buy strip lights for my room. After asking for help I was led in the wrong direction. When I finally found my way out of the store and to my house I discovered that one of the packs of lights did not work. And on top on that, they don't even stick to my wall, like advertised. What a waste of time and money. read more

There is good customer service and then there is going beyond the call of duty. I had been to numerous stores in need of a large box. We're talking 40x40x40 at least - that's a f'n big box let me tell you. Stephanie went out of her way to help me find a box. But a box that big is just not easy to find. Peter had a great suggestion of taking packing material which appliances come in, salvaging used boxes, and creating my own box from those. Perfect solution. Daniel and Stephanie helped round up some boxes and consolidated them into an easy way to transport across the store. Stephanie had another great suggestion of using double sided carpet tape to stick the boxes together. Awesome. Not only does Menards have a great selection of products, but at this location they have great people too! One of multiple positive experiences I've had at this Menards. read more

Always good! Updated store has quick checkouts and helpful employees which actually ask if you need any help finding something. The rebate counter can get a little messy but the people behind that desk somehow keep it situated enough and if you need help finding a rebate number just ask and they will help you find it much faster and maybe will tell you something helpful or a missed rebate even. Really upsetting experience because of a RUDE employee!!! I asked him a simple question, he ignored me. He then almost ran me over with his stupid carts and said excuse me ma'am in a nasty voice. My friend and I had a long list of things to get. This is a big Menards, so it was hard to find a lot of what we needed. We asked one associate. He told us he was on brake and walked away from us with another employee. After that, anyone we asked didn't know and wouldn't get anyone who did. Finally after 4 different people, we found someone to help us find what we needed. 3 more times after that we needed help with different things. No one would help us. We went to pick up the lumber and vinyl siding we needed. We couldn't find anything! There was an associate there, but he was not helpful at all. We'd be obviously confused and searching all over for it. We'd be very verbal about our confusion right in front of him, but he would just ignore us until we would ask him to help us. He then seemed to be annoyed. We didn't want to ask him because of this! The materials we needed were heavy and awkward. We had to pull them out and load them on the rack of the truck ourselves. Associates went by, but ignored the fact that we were two women struggling to get these materials up on a high rack of a big diesel truck ourselves. We had to get five different kinds of materials and they were all long, awkward and heavy! Still no one helped us! We hate this Menards. read more

I frequent this store quite often. The store itself is well maintained and product is always easy to locate. Floor persons are great. Prices on-point and lower than two competitors nearby. However, there is one HUGE problem at this specific location. She is a cashier. She is Old & MEAN. When you step into her checkout lane you WILL know it. You will NOT have a pleasant experience. I have always been a frequent customer of this Menards store. However, my wife had her phone stolen here last Friday by an employee, and management refused to even talk to the employees who were on the clock that night. I know it was an employee, because I tracked it to Menards at 10:15pm, which is 15 minutes after they close. Five minutes later, it was traveling down the freeway. read more

You can always count on Menards to have what you are looking for (they even have bread!) I'm doing a lot of home improvement right now and Menards has always been my go to place. The workers there are ready to help you. Last weekend I went there to get Sheetrock and the only bummer is that the Sheetrock was inside and rather than easily accessible outside. This worker named Chris was back there and helped me get all of the Sheetrock onto the cart and into my vehicle. Super awesome guy. I also went there a couple days later for another sheet and there was about a highshool aged kid working back there that just offered the help straight up. Not only that... But someone in the parking lot offered and helped put the Sheetrock into my truck! Awesome people/good citizens. #minnesotanice read more

My experiences at this Menards have always been great! The staff is very helpful and take their time with me. For example Wes in the Windows & Doors department spent a good 45 minutes helping me find the best options for trim in our house. He helped look at all my measurements and even price out the entire job in 3 different options so that I could budget for the job. He has help our family several times and recognizes his customers when they return. This really says a lot about the employees at Coon Rapids Menards. read more

Customer service is horrible. Maybe it's just my luck but every time I call or go here I always get someone who's not trying to help. Im sorry to say but if you work at a customer service orientated job, that's your job. TO HELP THE CUSTOMER. Take your business else where if you're planning to shop here. This Menards seems like no one wants to help or plays dumb to avoid helping you. Or the employees here tries to do the least amount of work. I've worked at the Fridley location and I'm completely disgusted how coon Rapids employees treat their customers. In Fridley if a customer needs something we don't point out the location we walk them there if the item is in our department. Otherwise we point out where the department is and notify someone in that department that you have a guest, what we refer the customers as, coming for some supplies. We do as much as possible to help our guest find the things they need for their projects. Not play dumb, seem like we don't want to help, or want to do the least amount of work. read more

As a household we shop Menards countless times per month. Thousands of dollars spent per year, as a homeowner. We replaced windows and were seeking new blinds. The employee was slow, unsure of his product but got what we asked done. We were told to pay for the blinds when ready to order. After trimming the windows we knew we needed to change the size, so we went back and the order was gone. There were only two employees in this very busy department. After waiting at the desk for 15 min. The gal could not find our order. She asked me to go home get our slip(20 min. drive one way) or call and give her my cc order over the phone. After being very upset I asked the other gal if there was a MOD I could talk to. She said no, he had gone home. I said really there is no manager in charge of the store. She then reluctantly called him. He apologized and helped us. After getting home I realized the $12.00 rebate did not print on the bottom of my receipt. The next day returning to the store for the third trip, ordered and paid for my blinds. I showed the csm my previous day receipt and explained it didn't give me my $12.00 refund. He said it wasn't the correct product, and because the sale went off yesterday he couldn't correct the problem because he couldn't make it retro to the refund. Needless to say sorry doesn't get me my 1.5 hrs of time in the store, nor does it pay for my gas or time back and forth. I think the resolution is training and fixing a situation. Yes apologize but how about act? It will be a long time before I return to this Menards. I will travel further to utilize the one on Central in hopes of customer service. read more
