Really solid quality work! My favorite pair of booties we're looking rough, but they're so comfortable so I thought I'd try this place out. I should have taken before pics because the shoes were fading, the heel was scratched, the bottom sole was uneven, the heel was worn. And yet they're so comfortable and stylish, I wear them all winter with happy feet. Anyway dropped them off here and viola! He made them new again!! They looked absolutely new--not sure if he redyed the boot but they're pitch black again, repainted the scratched heel, put another layer on the sole and replaced heel tip. This place is the best shoe repair shop I have done business with. The quality of their work is by far outstanding. The gentleman that is at the front counter which is also the shoe repair man is very friendly and helpful. Would have been an easy 5 star review based on my first visit; excellent, warm customer service and great craftsmanship. This is a terrific little store. However my request was lost in translation and not completed meaning I had to return and this time they closed early leaving me with a wasted journey across the city. The owner is very nice and a good guy but distributing business cards to customers with opening hours 90mins different from reality is super annoying and leaves a bad taste, it's not respectful and a shame to drop the ball on something so easily fixed. Yet, in El Paso you can still find tradesmen, even in the high end mall that is Sunland Park. The Shoe Doctor repairs, cobbles, shines, and sells shoes and all manner of leather goods. But what sets the Shoe Doctor apart, other than the fact that he is in a mall (!), is the quality of service and craftsmanship. I have taken three pairs of shoes to be re-heeled and re-soled and in each case the shoe comes back to me better than the original. I am astounded at the work of Mr. Navarro. A true craftsman indeed. I took him a pair of my 6 year old Lucchese lizards to him. Good boots aren't cheap and these stood up to everything I threw at them. I had recently purchased a new pair and considered tossing these out. I refused to do so because they were built so damn well. I took them over to Mr. Navarro and told him that I needed a resole only. He stated that as a part of his service he always cleans his client's boots. I didn't think too much of it at the time. I figured he would just give them a little touch up. When I picked them up I was in awe. He practically restored my boots back to their original look. I am talking squared away soles and heels. My boots were standing tall and looking good. Mr. Navarro takes pride in his work. A great reminder that quality and craftsmanship go hand in hand. I will bring all my Lucchese's to him to clean periodically. Absolutely amazing! read more

My name is Tiffany I live in Austin, TX. My husband is a congressman at the Capitol .. I was visiting El Paso and we were at Sunland Park Mall. As I was going up the escalator my shoe got stuck, the rubber bottom of my heel came off!! Which made very upset because these were Christian Louboutin! I asked one of the mall employees if there was a shoe repair shop and he told me to take it to The Shoe Doctor and in 5 minutes my shoes were fixed and even polished! This was great service, I was ready to put a complaint against the mall for the stair malfunction, but The Shoe Doctor saved my day! I think this service should be offered in every mall. More expensive than any of the shoe repair stores I checked out and they do not make up for it in quality. Zipper is on the verge of completely coming off and the metal pull tab broke! The staff was totally unresponsive to what was obviously poor work. read more

They are quite expensive, but the quality of the work is better than most of the other shoe repair shops in El Paso. Be sure to let them know if you need them in a day or two, otherwise it could be a week or two till they are ready. read more

We agreed the resole the shoes for $49. When I went to pick them up, the price had increased to $75. I told him the surfaces were very smooth and looked slippery. He said they would be alright. I paid him $50, which he reluctantly accepted after my dispute of the inflated charge. The first time it rained a couple of weeks later, I was walking very carefully, but still slipped and landed hard on one knee. I went back in to tell him the new soles were very slippery and I had fallen. First, he wanted to CHARGE me to redo the soles. I argued, and then he accused me of LYING about slipping! Finally, he agreed to redo the soles at no charge. The new soles came apart a short time later. TRUE STORY--STAY AWAY! read more

I had just purchased a brand-new pair of shoes and only worn them about a dozen times when somehow I managed to put a little cut on the shoe. It wasn't a big cut, but it was noticeable and I could still wear them. I felt uncomfortable with the gash and thought I would have to live with it. I decided to look for a shoe repair place and see if they could do anything to minimize the damage. I ran across the reviews for the shoe doctor and he had received several good reviews, so I decided to give him a try. I walked in and showed him the damage to the shoe. He went off with the shoe for a couple of minutes into a back room where I heard a buzzing sound. When he came back and showed me that he had minimized the damage. The gash wasn't very big so what he was able to do for it was enough to make it seem less obvious. This was more than I thought he would be able to do for the pair of shoes and I am grateful. It looks very good, you can't really tell that I had a cut in the shoe before. I asked him how much It was and he said I could catch him next time. The repair might have been a minor thing for him but for me it was something very important because the shoes were very expensive. I told him that if he wouldn't accept payment I would give him a good review in return. He is a very friendly man and I would definitely go back to him if I needed any repair work in the future. read more
