The staff made my daughter cry on her wedding day. Here's what happened. She went into the hospital with pre labor contractions 6 days before her wedding and wound up delivering a 2 lb baby three days before the originally planned wedding. They decided to go forward with the wedding and my daughter called in the morning of the wedding, explaining her situation and asking if they could put together a small bouquet for the afternoon. They were rude, unsympathetic and basically the person she talked to said why are you even having a wedding if you just had a baby. They didn't want to make up the small bouquet and she had to beg. I would never in a million years use a business like this. read more

I decided to visit the shop while waiting for a reservation at a neighboring restaurant. Columbia City Bouquet instantly has a nice clean layout and aesthetic. Even though it is a plant shop for potted plants, it is not dirty. The shop boasts many unique and popular plants for sale. It definitely caters to either the plant mom or clean girl aesthetic- everything is soft pastels, lots of small items that celebrate femininity, and minimalist decor. There are many small gifts and home decor items for sale. The prices are extremely reasonable. If I lived closer or had more room for plants, I would definitely come here a lot! read more

Walking by, I wasn't needing a florist but the fun trinkets in the window caught my eye. There are so many great and cute gift items here, such as fun cards and charming little planters. They also have a great assortment of houseplants for sale too, such as baby monstera deliciosas, monstera adansonii, FLF, and hoya hearts. The jewelry and accessory assortments are cute too - couldn't resist getting some monstera earrings. I may come back soon for the necklace too... Staff was super helpful, even when it came to my random questions such as needing dirt. They have great input too on propagation tips. Back on February 12, 2021, Seattle had record breaking snow fall for the region. I had ordered flowers set up for delivery during Valentine's Day weekend. I would have totally understood if the order needed to be canceled. To my amazement, the owners themselves drove out to our house through 9+ inches of snow and delivered an exquisite bouquet. I was so grateful. These owners really care about the community. Talk about going above and beyond! The shop is wonderfully curated. Staff is consistently helpful and attentive. Combination of plants and stationery goods. My two favorite things! I am new to the neighborhood and I can see myself visiting frequently (as soon as it is safe to do so). I purchased a few notepads and cards. I love all the trinkets around the store and a pothos plant. They were able to pot my pothos plant (which as a new plant owner, still makes me a nervous) quickly and beautifully. It has been six weeks and my plant is still doing wonderfully. I usually really enjoy this place, and made plans to support the store before they close for remodeling. Unfortunately, they decided to close early today for remodeling- hours before their store close time today without posting any signs. This is majorly disappointing because i stopped by earlier today and didn't see any signs that they'd be closing early. It's also pretty unfortunate because I took a ride-share to get to them and with the intention to buy a good amount of plants (no plants- and money wasted! ) When I asked if they were closed early, everyone just gave me weird looks (they already started dismantling the shop), and the person who I can now identify as Emily dismissed me (even though they started tearing the shop apart hours before the close time, and the door was still open as if they were still in operation). They did not even explain why they decided to close early. Considering that they plan to be closed until the 4th, I wish they would have more consideration for customers- or at least held to their hours or posted a change in hours. I will definitely put more effort into supporting other community shops after this disappointing experience. read more

I was gifted a bouquet which was delivered to me. The arrangement itself was nice, but the white roses were a bit wilted and some were browning on the tips and some of the purple flowers looked a bit damaged. The water in the vase was a bit dirty as well (the person delivering apologised for the water and told me how to change it myself, but I didn't want to risk damaging the bouquet or messing up the arrangement). Based on this experience alone, I think I would choose a different florist for flower delivery. read more

Just had the most lovely experience in this cute shop. I have been looking for cute pots and think this store has to have one of the best selections in Seattle! So many cute pots in different sizes and patterns. Great house plants too. I bought a plant and a pot. At checkout they asked if they could put my plant into the pot for me! Bring in your own vase and you can afford more on the actual flowers. They are always friendly AND skilled. I tell them a few particulars, the guy behind the desk asks pertinent questions, and voila: the exactly-right sentiment is presented in a beautiful flowers and foliage. Feel free to tell him stuff like: "This should specifically *not* look like a Christmas arrangement even though it's Dec 20." "This is for a desk at work." "I'm on a small budget. But just today." "Can you make it more masculine?" The photos I attached show their careful attention to detail. They placed the marbles in the vase I brought in to create the correct/pleasing height and effect. Since I would be driving home with no one to hold this tall arrangement, he quickly prepared a custom box that was pretty and oh-so-practical. I love supporting this neighborhood business. read more

Columbia city was so kind in every way. They heard my vision completely, and worked with me to make it a reality. After scouring Yelp, theKnot, and several other sites, I interviewed three florists in-person to get their ideas on flowers for our wedding and price estimates. I knew from the moment that I sat down with Arique (sp?) that I was going to enjoy working with Columbia City Bouquet. We also worked with Emily along the way who was super professional and communicated with us quickly and clearly. I am not a florist and they didn't expect me to be. While their prices were similar to others', they were better able to pull my vague ideas together and create exactly what I wanted (even though I didn't really know what I wanted). They even made a lei for my father (and did a great job) so that I didn't have to order one from a different store. I cannot tell you how many people commented on how beautiful our flowers were - unique but not weird, elegant and classic, but still modern. My family and I were planning a funeral for a relative that suddenly passed away. We were very desperate for flowers arrangements in short notice. The other florists we've visited were over our budget and didn't have many varieties, but thankfully we found this place and so conveniently close by from where we live. Columbia City Bouquet is located at the heart of Columbia City (obviously), right across the street from Geraldine's Counter. Store front is super cute, but the interior is so much cuter! Lots of varieties of plants to can go and choose from. Succulents, flower varieties, you name it! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the team! We weren't exactly sure what flower arrangements to look for, but luckily they did give us a book with pictures of varieties of arrangements that we could go by. The team let us know if there's a certain arrangement we want to go by, they also gave us the option to change different flowers or colors of them if we wanted to. I thought that was really nice how they could accommodate that. Prices do vary depending on flowers, arrangements, etc but they're all pretty reasonable. Honestly though my favorite thing about this place is their card selection. They carry some of my favorite stationers including Rifle Paper Co., Egg Press, Mr. Boddington's Studio, and Hammer Press. I was very disappointed in this florist. After talking with the person on the phone about what I would need to spend to get a very nice arrangement to welcome my son and daughter in law to their new home, I agreed to the price range they suggested and spelled out my son's and daughter-in- law's names. When the flowers were delivered, only my son's name was on the card. I am very disappointed that they did not include both as I requested. The arrangement itself was disappointing as well. The shop had a week's notice. I asked for sunflowers if they could get them and for a loosely arranged European style arrangement in a vase if they couldn't get the sunflowers. My son sent me a picture of the arrangement. It looks like flowers all the same height in a very low vase. I can understand perhaps not being able to get sunflowers, but the lack of a loosely arranged bouquet is not understandable. But most distressing is the fact that they left off my daughter-in-law's name. read more
