Check out this fantastic trailer ornament!! I was a lucky winner from their shop small Saturday raffle.

I won this fantastic trailer ornament from Alair's Shop Small Saturday raffle! I also received a cute mug and jar of hot toddy mix! We are really looking forward to playing Awkward Holiday Bingo on Xmas Eve! Thanks so much, and be sure to stop by to find some unique Christmas/Hanukkah prezzies!

Someone have a baby so I have an excuse to buy one of these!

If someone told me to choose five things in this store for myself, I'd be there all day trying to narrow it down. A cute tee? A fun mug? Clever card? Useless but essential Knick-knack? Alair has what you need for a gift - for someone else or for you when you just want to treat yourself to something. (Yes, someone NEEDS the pencil with the sassy saying on it!) The shop isn't overwhelmingly large, nor is it too small for you to leave empty handed. The story is bright and airy and the displays are well done.

    Love the fresh paint job!

Alair is easily the best gift shop in Seattle and dare I say the world! With their expanded card wall you'll have no trouble finding the perfect card for any occasion! And that's just the start, the store is full of lovely gifts from candles to books to keychains to clothing and sooooo much more! Don't have time to find the perfect gift? They've got you covered with a curated gift box in which the lovely folks at Alair do the heavy lifting for you! All this wouldn't be possible without the leadership of the lovely owner Shandon and her first class team. They all genuinely care about the community they serve and the community they've built. Visit Alair in West Seattle or online, you'll be glad that you did!

Super cute shop in West Seattle! If you're looking for witty, pun-filled greeting cards, unique gifts for your hipster friends or even just your dad, (Father's Day is coming up) I highly recommend taking a trip to Alair. Items they have also include dog collars and baby items like books and clothing. Seriously, if you have gift needs for someone come here & you're bound to find something. The prices were decent too for a local shop. Always support local! Came here for a Yelp event and was thrilled to find a shop with similar quirky humor. Had a brief conversation with who I assume are the owners and they were both sweet and easy to talk to. Way bummed that there was a line to do the macrame demo but that doesn't go against my experience since it was a Yelp event, in which there was a disclaimer that you might miss out on certain things if you're not early! I would go back for that class but the price is a little steep - perhaps if it was a group payment. Of course we ended up buying our dog a new collar for $15 without the discount.

I visited Alair with a friend for a Yelp Elite event. My friend lives nearby the cute shop and spoke highly of it so I was glad to make the drive from Shoreline all the way to West Seattle for the event. The shop is chic and has every funny card you could imagine and cute gifty items for men, women, and even a few baby gift items. The prices are good for a small independent shop. They had a cute little patio out back which I wonder what is used for when there isn't an event. Due to the crowd I couldn't partake in the free macrame demo craft session however my friend assured me that Alair offers "girls nights" periodically which draw a more local and chill crowd of women with similar drinks/snacks/craft so we'll plan to attend one of those soon!

This is the first review I have ever posted to yelp--that is how happy I am with the service provided by the staff of this establishment. Searching for the elusive "Jewish Wisdom Ball" as a humorous gift for my 92 year-old father (who fortunately needs nothing), it was out of stock everywhere, until it showed up on the gift shop website, on sale no less. I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Within 48 hours I received a cheery message wishing me a "Happy Hanukkah", confirming shipping and actually apologizing for not having mailed it faster in the midst of the busy holiday season! I have since had occasion to contact them again and they are always prompt, professional and courteous. The gift shop is in Seattle while I live in Illinois, yet they treat me as though I am an old friend or longtime congregation member who has been walking through their doors often over the years. Based on this positive experience I intend to continue to support them with future purchases where appropriate. They are the sort of people we need more of in the world today and I can't thank them enough for the manner in which they do their jobs.

Built on the edge of a steep hill overlooking Elliott Bay and Puget Sound, Pike Public Market is known as the "soul of the city." Here locals have shopped since 1907 for fresh produce from hundreds of farmers, artisans, and specialty vendors, and it is proud to promote the fact that almost half of its businesses are female-owned. Since our hotel was within walking distance, my partner, his family, our friends, and I visited this most popular tourist attraction with more than 20 million annual visitors several times. It can get a bit overwhelming, especially with the large crowds and the maze of shops. It is definitely worth a look.

Oh and we stumbled upon the "gum wall" ... even though I took a pic of it it's absolutely GROSS lol. I kind of thought you could buy most essentials at the airport, but it turns out children's shoes are not a typical travel need, at least when they aren't being worn by traveling children. Fireworks did carry children's slippers, which caught my eye as I passed, as well as a nice assortment of unique, crafty toys and gifts. Unfortunately, my five-year-old followed me into the store and zeroed in on a tiny, colorful finger puppet in the shape of a parrot. He asked me to buy it for him, and I declined, telling him we weren't getting a souvenir before we even left the airport. He was upset by this to the point of tears, but I managed to get us out of there. We had a wonderful time in Seattle, and to his credit, the five-year-old behaved well the whole trip (and the two-year-old got new shoes). When I saw Fireworks Gallery again by our departure gate, I decided at the last possible second to stop in and get him the parrot. It was one of several Folkmanis finger puppets in a wire basket. I picked it up along with a bunny rabbit and went to check out. There was a short line at the register--I guess this shop gets decent traffic--and by the time I was up, my husband was calling to tell me we were boarding. This is how I paid $36.36 for two finger puppets that cost $10 apiece online. Fireworks got me good, but my boys do love their little puppets, which are soft and cute and well made. The wares here are definitely nicer and less generic than at your average airport store. It might cost you, though, if you wander in there with your kids.

A bit of a bummer since that's the main thing my kid wanted to do! Just 1 star off for that. The husky scavenger hunt kind of made up for it! There is a Starbucks at the Suzzallo Library and bathrooms too if you left the Burke and have a kid who needs to go even after they were prompted a million times before you exited the Burke! There are also tons of food options and a couple small grocery stores nearby. Which is great if you/your group have dietary needs. Ok so Grey Sloan memorial may be in my head and not a real place but second to none is the space needle. No way could I have come to Seattle and not go to the Space Needle. I don't want to discourage anyone from going but most observation decks are almost a dime a dozen once you have done a handful. But no matter what the standout special that is sharing the courtyard of the space needle is this lovely glass garden. I have no idea why no one from Grey Sloan has made their way over there (Yeah, yeah, I know it's really filmed mostly in Los Angeles) When people talk about the Space Needle, Chihuly Garden should be mentioned right along with it. It was such a beautiful and refreshing place to visit. The only thing I could ask would be for maybe 3 more exhibits. The glass blowing demonstration was so cool, well it was hot, and visually cool. So when you buy the tickets to the Space Needle and it asks you if you want the combination ticket for Chihuly Garden, you should absolutely click that option. The ticket as an addon or solo is a bit pricey in my opinion for the size of the exhibit, but so is everything else in the world now. I took some cool pics, but I am going to keep them to myself. I don't want to ruin it for you. Really go check it out, it's worth the visit for sure.
