I enjoyed shopping at The Shoppes at Carlsbad. There are ample parking spots in this mall. I went with my family mainly to Regal Cinema, but we did a lot of shopping in many stores around. There are many retail stores like Zara, Macy's, JC Penny, H&M, Victoria Secret and more. There are also many restaurants you can dine in. For example; Yard House, The Cheese Factory, Texas De Brazil, The Red Chickz, Dave and Buster, Ramen restaurant (I don't remember the exact name), Luna Grill and more. You can find Bath& Body Work, Miniso, Escape room, Toy stores, and Regal Cinema. You can spend great time there finding great variety of restaurants, and diverse stores to shop at, in addition to available parking spots. We had great experience there. I am looking forward to go back when I am in Carlsbad.

This place is super quiet because in prior years it was pretty sketchy and there were gangs around. But theyve renovated it and added security, so the place is now very quiet, lots of families around, and the mall is clean and nice. It's actually pretty large but many of the storefronts are empty right now. But there are still some pretty good stores I like to go to here, like Sephora, American Eagle, and Zara. There are also a few restaurants that are great, like Tasty Noodle House and Beshock Ramen. My kids enjoy walking here because there is a little playground for kids lined with coffee shops for parents. And there are other fun little things like arcades and rides for toddlers. I love walking here, and it's great for families taking a stroll and going shopping.

The mall itself is maintained well and has a select number of stores on the inside and variety of food options on the outside. But the main reason for the low rating is because of the lack of visible signage about being pet friendly, which might lead to some possible misunderstanding. According to the website, the mall is dog friendly. However, while walking, another customer approached us and made biting comments about being allergic to dogs. I was so shocked since this has never happened before in all my years of visiting dog friendly places. I'd like to think that lady just didn't know the mall is dog friendly. Honestly, the mall is empty enough. You don't need people putting off others...

Parking stinks. Crazy how it's a ghost town in the mall but there's never any parking near the doors. Good place to walk, escalators are always fun. They now have a human claw machine lol, seriously. Seemed fun. Expensive but it's more for the experience. Plenty of dining options. More shops inside than I remember but hard to find workers and big stores are completely empty. Like all malls. Lots of stuff no one needs. Pretty clean. Bathrooms as creepy as ever. Malls always put women's bathroom at the end of a super long creepy hallway near an exit. I've heard excuses of women's bathroom need more space saying that's why, but that's not good enough. No woman wants to walk down a long hallway alone the furthest from everything and everyone, this is why I took off 3 stars. It's creepy and dangerous and needs to stop. Ladies go before you hit up the malls.

Do not shop at EPC TOYS, they have cheap plastic high priced knock off toys and have no signs to not touch their display toy guns or any signs that say that if it breaks you need to pay full price for a display item that is used and has wear and tear . My toddler accidentally dropped it trying to pick it up to try it and they had me purchase it at full price(the item wasn't even in good condition, the strap to hold the toy gun is broken as it is the tester display). I understand that it broke and it was not done on purpose nor was it a brand new item. maybe they shouldn't have them on display to test when the plastic is so cheap.

The Shoppes is definitely improving! Compared to its state of condition several years ago, things are moving in the right direction. It's more lively as a result! Great to see folks out and about, enjoying on a weekend--yet not overly crowded. There are some nice anchor/flagship stores like Texas de Brazil steakhouse, Dave & Busters, Yard House, Regal movie theater and more interesting additions on the way like Tasty Noodle House. Random side note: Massive shout out to the stranger who picked up and returned an item that I hadn't realized fell out of my pocket. Made my day. While not the most amazing, exciting place to visit, a welcome point of interest in the area that's sure to continue improving.

Ask the Community - The Shoppes at Carlsbad

Is there a movie theater there?

Yes there is right next to the mall

Is there a food court at the Shoppes? I am escorting a group of kids, and don't want to hassle with expensive restaurants like Yardhouse, D&Bs, or Cheesecake factory. Thanks

Ignite is quite a ways away from the shoppes. It is in Carlsbad but closer to Encinitas off Alga and El Camino

It is sad to see all of the closed businesses due to Covid, but I am impressed with the amount of stores that were able to stay open.

Stopping by the Carlsbad Premium Outlets is a fun outing for anyone looking to shop a nice set of outlet stores in Carlsbad where the weather is typically lovely outside. There are plenty of stores along with some food options. There are some name brand stores and some stores not tied to name brands. There are deals regularly, especially around times like Black Friday and before and after any holiday. I often take a book and read it outside in a comfortable chair (hopefully out of the sun) while waiting for her to shop. When we went with her parents once, I sat with my father-in-law outside and we eventually stopped by Starbucks for a beverage. There are more than 85 stores and restaurants at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. My wife's favorite is the Ann Taylor Factory Store. There is also a Coach Outlet, Gap Factory, Michael Kors Outlet, and so much more. Some of the restaurant options include a Blaze Pizza, Starbucks (of course!), Jersey Mike's, Ruby's Diner, Rubio's Coastal Grill, Wetzel's Pretzels, Tea Monks, Panda Express, Oasis Tacos, Mot'to Japanese Grill, and Haagen Dazs. There are other restaurants a short drive from the Outlets if more sit-down restaurants are desired. There are plenty of sales, discounts, and deals. Each day, different sales are listed on their website at https://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/carlsbad/deals. There are also military, teacher, and student discounts (all published on their website). Be prepared to share IDs accordingly when taking advantage of the discounts. There is also a free Elite Rewards membership, which you can find out more about at https://plus.simon.com. Each store has its own hours though the general hours at 10 AM to 7 PM from Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 11 AM to 7 PM on Sunday. When we moved here this mall had been just started and had many areas closed. Now, two years later more and more stores moved in and it developed a nice atmosphere.
