This is a good size shopping center consisting mostly of large retail stores just south of CA78. Stores include Ross, Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, and Bed Bath & Beyond, as well as a Sprouts. There are also a number of casual restaurants. Broken Yolk brought us here. There's plenty of parking. read more

This center is really shaping up. I come here mainly for Nordy's Rack, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Sprouts. I've been to the various businesses and eating establishments, such as Starbucks, Party City, Marshalls, Sports Chalet, Fantastic Sam's, L&L, Sammy's, Pei Wei, Boudin, Love Boat Sushi, Broken Yolk, Elephant Bar - among others. The center is fairly new so the establishments reflect the modern decor and building structure. The parking situation could be a bit tricky. Yes, you get the crazies and the elder (for Sprouts) so you def need to watch where the stop signs are. There are a couple crazy STOP intersection (by Pat N Oscars and Broken Yolk) where it is difficult to see where traffic is coming from. read more

This is a really nice outside mall in North County San Diego. There's a little bit of everything here...Massage Envy, AAA Auto Services, Starbucks, Petco, Bed Bath and Beyond, clothing stores, restaurants, etc. I find myself at Petco to get dog food. I don't know why I don't frequent the other establishments. Hmm, no need maybe? The biggest downside here, like most malls, is the madness of the parking lot. The spots are small and the flow of traffic is crazy. I really wonder who thought a 5 way stop sign was good.Everyone sit there...waiting for the other driver to go. Grand Plaza is a good option for a shopping center located in San Marcos right by the 78 freeway off of the Las Posas exit. There are plenty of businesses here for all your different needs. If you need groceries Sprouts is here, and if you need a drink there's Starbucks and Nekter. For bites there is Elephant Bar, Broken Yolk, Pei Wei, Curry and More, Boudin's Bakery, L&L, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, and O's American Kitchen just to name a few. And for errands and shopping there's AT&T, Petco, Ulta, Liv3, Nordstrom Rack, and Party City etc. Overall, a nice local spot to hit up one or more retailers on the same trip.~ read more

I like convenience! I live in San Marcos and am GAS PRICE conscious! Although the layout of the parking lot is weird and the spots are small... there is a lot of things you can walk to! Went to the eye doctor then walked over to Verizon to pay my phone bill, walked over to Ross' to do a lil shopping. Got thirsty and hit Starbucks for a greentea. Thought about hitting the nail salon to get a pedi or to have my mustache waxed! There are several places to hit if you want do do lunch or dinner. I LOVE Sprouts and always get good deals there. (seriously check out their Filet Mignon that they've pre-marinated or the stuffed chicken) Awesome to throw on the grill! read more

Well just like most people I am resistant to change so when they first started building the grand plaza I was a bit apprehensive about how much traffic it would cause, ect ect. Anyways, I find this place a part of my daily life. Thank God the city didn't just put in another Super Walmart, or other massive store but rather turned it into a large outdoor shopping mall. Sprouts was a lovely arrival to the area. I like that there is many of the mall stores such as Ross, Marshalls, Party City, ATT, Lane Bryant, Nail Shop, Wax shop, Nord Rack and much more. Plenty of lunch options. Big parking lot structure, although it was built a bit weird so watch out for those not paying attention when driving. read more

Grand Plaza has become foodie central for San Marcos, and is definitely a culinary destination for all of North County. It has probably 10 restaurants, but here are my top 5 in the plaza: 1.) Curry & More Bistro (I gave them 5 stars on Yelp) 2.) Love Boat Sushi (Plan on giving them 5 stars) 3.) Taco Bar (I gave them 4 stars) 4.) Boudin (Definitely a 4 star joint) 5.) Sammy's Woodfired Pizza (Definitely a 3.5 or 4 star joint) Broken Yolk just opened, and we were definitely excited, but unfortunately we've had subpar experiences on both visits. (Their LaCosta location in Carlsbad has never disappointed, however) It's also home to some very solid chain restaurants, like Elephant Bar, PeiWei and L&L's. I really wish I could give the plaza four stars, but I have to knock it for being home to San Marcos' trillionth Starbucks. Seriously, I love Starbucks for what it is, but before another one opens in San Marcos it would be great to see a quality local shop west of Twin Oaks, or AT LEAST a Coffee Bean or Peet's. read more

I love the San Marcos Grand Plaza! This used to be on my way home from work, so I would stop in at least once a week to make sure I didn't miss out on any good deals at my favorite stores. The larger stores in this center are Nordstrom Rack, Marshals, and Bed Bath & Beyond. The Loeman's unfortunately closed. There are a number of smaller retailers as well as restaurants including Elephant Bar, Sammy's Woodfired Pizza, and Pei Wei. Every time I have visited this place I have had a good experience. I will be back for sure! Parking: There is plenty of parking for all of the businesses that are in this center and it is was well planned. There are multiple entrances and exits and it never seems to be too backed up even on the weekend. Location & Decor: It is located just off the 78 freeway, hard to miss. Again with the typical decor these days...stucco and stone. Is anyone other than me sick of this yet. It is a pretty new development, so it would have been nice to see a little more creativity from an Architectural standpoint, but overall it is a nice place to shop. read more

Super convenient because of Sprouts. Otherwise, I feel that the stores are all very generic. One chain after another. There's plenty to encourage those with a thoughtless shopping habit (Ross, Nordies, Marshalls, etc) and a taste for uninspiring cuisine (Sammy's, O's kitchen, Pei Wei, etc). Nothing very unique here and a lot of it is overpriced for what you get. There is a lot of cars and traffic at that 5 way is super scary at times. Also sits at the freeway exit/onramp and makes navigating around the freeway traffic scary at times. A cyclist was hit at one of their intersection maybe a year ago. It has the feel of a big shopping plaza with very little charm or character. I don't feel like there is anything here that makes it unique to San Marcos. You can literally put this plaza in any other city and it wouldn't make a difference as that is how generic everything feels. I think they should encourage more small local businesses rather than be so corporate. But the rent probably is horrendous so no small business really has a chance. read more

This is the best place San Marcos to shop or eat for me. They got All your shopping needs from sporting goods to fashion, home, pets, party accessories, to groceries. And a bunch of dinning options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And they got Five Guys burgers now so that puts them from 4 stars to 5 stars!! read more

This shopping center is fairly new, clean, well lit, and has a decent variety of shopping options. That's the good news. The bad news? Unfortunately, Grand Plaza's layout and parking lot seems like it was conceived by a someone with spatial reasoning issues - there are way too many bottlenecks in the "roads" the meander through the parking lot, and most of the numerous restaurants (i.e., parking-heavy operations) are crammed in the narrow end of the center... which leads to a lot of congestion at lunch and dinner time. So - it's hit and miss. Nice mix of stores, services, and restaurants - but it can be a pain getting to them! read more

This place has practically transformed San Marcos from a city where my friends couldn't recognize to the place where they go all the time. The Grand Plaza has really given the city a facelift in the right direction. I love going to Sprouts for groceries and stopping for Marshalls and Party City for good deals on whatever I'm looking for. My wife and I are big fans of Nordstrom Rack and she loves Ulta and I love to kill time in Sport Chalet. Choices to eat quick on site and close by, and there's always music playing outside, giving this place a pretty friendly and welcoming feel. read more

Some pretty awesome stores in this shopping center. From Bed, Bath and Beyond to Marshall's, Petco and Nordstrom Rack. Its a great spot to go to if you want to hit a few different types of stores.
