They've got a pretty good setup - I went with a couple of friends to go upland bird hunting for the first time, and it was an enjoyable experience. They will provide you with the proper licenses, and since it's private land, there's no worry about finding an OK stop to hunt. You basically pay for the birds you wish to be able to hunt, and they place them in a field that's been strategically mowed/plowed to include strips of cover for the birds. I'm sure they have more available, but we were able to choose from quail, chukar, and pheasant. This seemed a little like cheating, but given that those birds aren't native to Missouri, or at least not in decent quantities, it was a good way to ensure we would actually have some targets. At that point, we were on our own - drive out to the field and hunt 'em up. I'm sure that they would have provided us with guides and a dog for a fee, but we had a friend with hunting dogs. After the hunt, they will clean your birds for you, again, for a nominal fee, but we opted not to - they have facilities available to clean the birds right there, which is nice, as you can bring home just what meat you wanted, and not the whole bird. I feel like it was a tad expensive, but then again, I've never been before, so I don't know what I thought it was going to cost. It's something I would do every once in a great while, and not all the time, so as a once a year deal, I'm happy with the expense. Everyone was very friendly, and they have plenty of beer on hand for after the hunt, plus a lunch that looked to be heavy on game, and looked tasty, but we did not indulge. We shared a bay and stayed for probably an hour or so. Plenty of time to get through some rounds in our new rifle. They can't HVAC the range because of all the lead, so just be aware of that, on hot days, it's HOT. But other than that, we had a blast! They also had a worker that was coming over and giving me tips, which was awesome and appreciated. Definitely recommend if you don't want to drive 40 minutes to an outdoor range!

I personally feel more comfortable in having a CCW license. They put you in real life situations making sure you follow proper procedures at all times. I will definitely take the Hangun Boot Camp 2. I really trust these men and women in what they do.

This is a very, very nice scatter gun range - based solely on amenities, it's nicer than all the…read moreranges I've been to in the Chicago area. I've been several times, and this review pretty much holds true for every visit. First off, they have 8 trap/skeet fields. All the fields appear to be usable for both trap and for skeet, although I doubt they have all three required launchers in place at each station at all times. We are always told which are set up for which. All the fields are well maintained, with voice activated throwers. Almost never a broken bird, although the flight trajectory on field 8 is a little flat - I feel like I'm shooting right at the house half the time, which I'm sure is frowned on. It's interesting to note that there is NEVER any kind of wait, and nor is there ever any formal trap. They just tell you to go out on a field and have fun. They track birds thrown with a little electronic counter box, which I've only seen at this location...it seems a bit unreliable, or maybe I'm just dumb. But I think it manages to overcharge me every time. Oh well. I think there are two more 5-stand fields, but I've never seen them in operation. Their clays course is very nice - 12 stations. All have two launchers, so you can choose a (sometimes extraordinarily difficult) true pair or report pair on each station - never just two birds from the same launcher. Difficulty was medium. I recently shot near my personal best, percentage wise, so I'm not going to say it was hard. One highlight is a scaffold shooting platform - it's fun to shoot down on the birds instead of up at them. And there was a single rabbit, for variety, but no mini or midi clays that I saw. The entire course is in the open, kind of brushy fields, some shaded by woods, but no stations under cover of trees. There's a paintball range just behind (up range) of parts of the clays course, and it's hard not feel super awesome when you consider those kids aren't even using live ammo, and they think they're cool. The reason I only have 4 stars marked here is because the staff are kind of jerks. I'm pretty understanding of you being nervous with random people showing up and discharging firearms on your property. But there's no need to be a total jerk to me - if I do something unsafe, then by all means, come down on me and correct the unsafe behavior. But the hostile attitude we always get the moment we walk in the door is a bit uncalled for. Even trying to strike up conversation with the range master got us clipped, smart-alec responses...I guess if he wants people to dislike him, he's getting his wish. I've been several times, and it's always the same. But, if you can ignore the staff (well, not ignore...just don't take them personally, or expect any friendliness) then this is a spectacular range.

Missouri Pickleball Club is an indoor pickleball facility located in Fenton, Missouri. They have 18…read morecourts available and also sell quite a bit of pickleball gear including paddles, bags, and accessories. They also allow you to demo paddles. There is a giant parking lot right outside of the facility and I have never had an issue finding a spot. I have been a member ($25/month) for about 2 months now and have taken advantage of their perks. For example, they offer a good amount of beginner and advanced clinics, paddle stack play, organized play, and league play throughout the week. You sign up for these events through an app (CourtReserve) and then scan your own personal bar code to check in. These events run almost all day and are open to non members but are cheaper if you have a membership. You also have the option to reserve a court but each person playing on the court is also charged too. They also host tournaments here that you can sign up for. So far I've done drill and play, organized play, paddle play, and have reserved a court at some point. It is nice have the organized play/paddle stack options and play with new folks when I don't have a group to play with. The courts are also pretty nice and the bathrooms are kept fairly clean. There is a wide range of DUPR levels (2.5-4+) which allows for a wide variety of people with different skill levels to participate. Some downsides are that the cost to play can add up considering the $25/month membership plus any additional event you want to sign up for which can range from $5-$30. Starting January 2024, they also charge a $50 account activation fee for new and returning members. This is fine but I think it would be helpful for them to be transparent about it as this is not listed on their website and was sent through a members only email. I do like MPC and am enjoying their events but will likely be returning to outdoor courts once the weather warms up.
