Great service and good quality Hunter Douglas shutters. The delivery was 2 weeks. When they arrived it only took the guys 15 minutes to install the shutters. The sales guy and the installers were friendly and professional. I docked them a star because I was thinking about buying more shutters but their quote was much higher than the shutters they already installed. It felt like they give you a lower price for the first order and up charge you if you want to buy more. They lost my additional business because of this. read more

My husband and I hired The Shutter Guys to install shutters throughout our house in the last year and a half. Wade was courteous, prompt in getting back to us for an appointment and the installation was beyond our satisfaction. The installers even pointed out some flaws in one or two of the shutters and made good on the promise to replace them. We encountered a situation yesterday that Wade volunteered to correct free of charge. My dog was spooked by my gardener when he rang the doorbell when I was in the back of the house. My gardener had come on a different day so I wasn't prepared for him (my dog is very protective and I need to be prepared ahead of time). Unfortunately, Dexter got up on a chair before I could come out from the back of the house and as I entered the living room, he swiped his big ole paw on the shutter which caused the flipping mechanism to malfunction. When I called Wade to explain what happened so I could make arrangements to have it repaired or replaced, he offered to replace it free of charge. I wasn't expecting that so as you read this review you can see why I give The Shutter Guys an outstanding review. I wanted plantation shutters for my small condo and spoke with 3 different vendors. Wade from The Shutter Guys seemed to have better knowledge of both the product and the installation process. Since I had no experience with this type of window covering, he was very helpful in giving me recommendations on available options and features but also respected when I chose not to follow his suggestions on one or two choices. Although it was only for a livingroom window and a small kitchen window, the extra time and care that Wade took made me feel as important if I had ordered shutters for a huge home. Can this be 10 star, really, yes really. I met these guys looking at their Yelp reviews. At first a lot of people think that people particularly fake reviews. In this case, it's not the case. They are really that awesome. I was kind of like a pest in the beginning kind of bothering them during the holidays "where's my shutters". But I found out that that's normal to take a while for custom shutters. My kitchen shutters are not particularly easy to install due to the limited space. These babies make the rest of my house look like crap lol. You know what that means LOL I need to do some more upgrades with these guys! They're extremely meticulous and I'm very OCD and these guys basically helped me every second of the way. I had several requests which wouldn't be a big deal for a lot of people but for me it would be a big deal. The installers took a long time with me. What made me tear up is when Wade the son in law call to see if I had any questions after the installation. How awesome is that? They accommodated my OCD Ness and now unfortunately I'm going to have to spend more money so these beautiful for shutters will match my ugly stuff. As Arnold Schwarzenegger says I'll be back. Dave, the owner, is a seasoned man of professional integrity and runs a family business that cares deeply about satisfying its customers. The installation crew of Carlo, Kevin, and Edgar were professional to a wonderful degree, so cordial, non-intrusive, efficient, kind, and absolutely outstanding in every way, arriving 10 minutes ahead of their time window. The installation crew of Carlo, Kevin, and Edgar receives 5 (five!) stars because Carlo, Kevin, and Edgar were beyond awesome, so patient and helpful during the entire process, working quietly and diligently! For the initial consultation, Karen loved the way Dave brought his "briefcase" of sample shutters and let her open and close the samples, answered all her million and one questions, and took into consideration the best types of pricing for her budget. Dave measured precisely & efficiently and took Karen around the house to match the shutters to the trim of her doorframes. On the day of arrival, the installation went smoothly & without a hitch, thanks to the awesome installation crew of Carlo, Kevin, and Edgar. Dave has a family-run company with a lot of wisdom & experience about shutter installation, down to exactly how he can almost "read" a customer's mind re: concerns, questions, and interior design. The company itself receives 4 stars because Karen's installation appointment was totally missed on its original date, even with a prior day confirmation with Dave, and with no responses to her phone, text, or e-mail until later in the evening on the missed date: nobody ever showed up. (To give this wonderful company the benefit of the doubt, I'd like to assume this is an exception rather than the norm.) Apparently, the right-hand guy dropped the ball, and Dave apologized, exhibiting fine professionalism in light of the awkward circumstances. With a great customer-service attitude, Dave kindly offered an early installation time the very next day with a modest discount. The dropped appointment wasn't Dave's fault and it certainly wasn't the crew's fault; the right-hand guy (not named here) just dropped the ball in scheduling Karen's appointment. This may've happened because the right-hand guy was out of the country with intermittent cell phone access. However, the appointment was confirmed by both Dave and by Karen, the client. That said, Dave did follow up with an appointment early the next day, and was once again extremely apologetic and kind when he called. Dave also followed up after the installation to make sure everything was perfect. Dave, we appreciate your god professionalism, and your crew of Carlo, Kevin, and Edgar are absolute jewels! (As for your right-hand guy, we'll just consider the scheduling bugaboo an exception rather than the norm. We understand that people go out of the country with intermittent Wi-Fi or cell access, but with Karen's confirmation and follow-up calls, that was just totally weird.) Wade and his crew are awesome! Wade was professional, knowledgeable and came with blue booties so our floors wouldn't get dirty. They provided and installed temporary window shades while we waited for our shutters to be made. Our shutters are beautiful and made such a difference. One of our windows was still not installed, so I offered for our contractor to install. However Wade wanted to make sure it was done correctly so he sent out his crew to install just that one shutter and did not charge for installation. I usually don't give 5 star reviews (see my other reviews if you're in doubt) but this vendor offers a service superior to other home service construction/repair companies. Details: 1) Beat their best case delivery schedule by 1 week. 2) Flexible: we asked to delay installation to match our schedule and they had no issue with holding the material until we were ready for the installation. 3) Great customer service: the day of the install, we'd been up all night the previous night and we slept through our alarm. They showed up and knocked/rang but we didn't wake up. After explaining to them what had happened, they re-arranged their schedule to come out later the same day. Other contractors would've given us a bunch of attitude over such a mistake, but not The Shutter Guys. The service and attitude were still top notch. 4) Good follow up: When they opened one of the boxes they found a damaged panel. They expedited a repair. They said it would take two weeks and sure enough, two weeks later to the day they were out at my house and replacing the panel. 5) Price: I've not seen better prices. Home Depot was dramatically more expensive 6) Quality: not noticed any issues with the product or installation. The product looks just like the brochure and they were able to accurately match color. 7) Personable/integrity: the sales person was very easy to work with, low pressure and more about overall customer satisfaction than just making the sale. My experience after using them two different times in the last 3yrs --- Good product, great installation, poor customer service.

I wanted shutters for one upstairs window, and I wanted to shop on line rather than have multiple salespeople come and SELL me. Several companies responded to my request for a quote, and The Shutter Guys had the lowest price - $600. So I invited Dave to come to take official measurements and order the shutters. Dave Shannon, the owner, came and discussed what I wanted, but he didn't want to do the job because he said that I wouldn't like it -- the double-hung shutters that I thought I wanted would block the view. He then told me exactly what I needed to buy -- "wooden" venetian blinds, gave me the right measurements, drew a picture for me, and told me where I could get them for probably $150. What a nice guy! Professional and helpful, and with integrity. If I ever need any kind of blinds or shades, I will be calling Dave back. read more

Just had shutters and honeycomb shades installed and I am so happy with the results! We have an old house and the shutters that were left from the previous owners were rickety and all scratched up (from their dogs). I had 2 other companies come and give me an estimate (Costco and Harmony Blinds) and Dave from the shutter guys was the most knowledgeable about what type of shutter would be best to replace our old ones. Plus they were the best priced. Wade came installed the window treatments and was very professional and did such a great job. What a great experience! If you're anything like me and have experience working with contractors and/or home improvement guys in the past then you know to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Not the case working with Wade and his crew, in fact quite the contrary, my wife and I both agreed this experience was about as close to perfect as one could want. We had many different companies come out over the course of almost a year and we heard a lot of different ideas and opinions and of course a variance of price ranges from low to high. The price we received from The Shutter Guys wasn't the highest and it certainly wasn't the lowest but we chose to go with them based on a combination of factors: First we instinctively felt comfortable with Wade and didn't get any negative vibes or cheesy salesman baloney that we saw a lot of. Second the quote was mid range and seemed to be for the higher quality blinds we were looking for. The third reason was the reviews, he was the only one with a 5-star rating and offered references and addresses of recent jobs should we care to see them from the street. You can have a buddy fake a review or two but not 50, and the reality is that the actual consumer reviews tell the truth about a business. Wade gave us an approximate install date yet he contacted us prior to that date and scheduled it early. His crew were all professional, polite and courteous young men who spoke to us with extremely respectful tone and dialogue at all times. I would say that there are some proud parents out there who raised these young men. Additionally after the install they came back to "tweak" some fittings and add some moulding kits to accommodate the trim and fittings on our old home built in 1958. Wade was "hands on" the entire time, we saw him all the way thru the process and he didn't subcontract the install out to someone else. Everything, and I mean everything was done as it was promised and there was never any upsell or additional charges. He never asked me to post a review or promised us anything to do so. The quality is outstanding and far surpasses our expectations and the the value for our dollar is thru the roof. We did our due diligence before choosing someone to give our business too and so should you and I can tell you with complete confidence if I were you I would use The Shutter Guys even if I had to pay more. read more
