I have been dreaming about having shutters in my home for almost two years now, and The Shutters Guys did not disappoint. They made my dream come true with these window coverings, and I couldn't be more happy with the result. When I first spoke with Dave, he was very kind and professional and was able to come out to take a look at our windows within a few days. Our windows are a little bit odd (3 giant picture windows in both the Living Room and Master Bed Room and then tall and skinny windows on the doors to the balcony), but Dave was easily able to offer solutions. I'd rather have a professional company take the necessary time and do it right. The installation was completely painless for me as well. They took about 4 hours, which I thought was very impressive. THE MAN AND HIS PRODUCT We interviewed 3 companies and afterwards had the most confidence in Wade and The Shutter Guys. Wade suggested their 'Norman' brand shutters which offered an invisible tilt and a minimal looking magnet closure. The Norman shutter, along with Wade's professionalism, friendliness and product knowledge and a competitive bid all sold us on using The Shutter Guys. HONESTY RULES Wade was also able to offer interior design advice as to whether to shutter or not to shutter on certain windows. Instead of trying to sell us an entire house of shutters, whether they would have looked good or not in certain places, he was honest and made suggestions of keeping some windows un-shuttered so it wouldn't feel to 'shuttery'. (For example, in the case of a high skylight window). NOT JUST A SALESMAN Wade had a real attention to detail as well, being very concerned with which way the shutters opened (all to the right or all to the left). He was also patient when it came to us picking the style of molding around the edge of the shutter. LEAD TIME The shutters are made in China (although don't let that deter you) and took about 6 weeks to come after they were ordered. INSTALLATION DAY The installers were on time, called when they were on their way, were very polite and seemed confident in what they were doing. DO YOUR HOMEWORK If you're considering shutters, I would recommend you get about 3 quotes, do your internet homework and walk around your neighborhood looking at shutters so you can see what's out there, what you like and don't like. We moved into a house that already had plantation shutters but one in the living room had damage from the previous owners dogs and in the dining room the shutters were missing. I had a unique request to replace the damaged one and put one up in the dining room that would match the rest of the house. We are thrilled with the final installed product(s)... We started working with the Shutter Guys after another shutter company failed to show for an appointment in our home. Every experience we had with this company was excellent. We made an appointment with Dave, who arrived at our home early and sat in his car and then knocked on our door the moment of our appointment. Dave made some excellent suggestions on materials (vinyl) and color that we acted upon. We then worked with Wade who stayed in touch with us while the custom shutters were being manufactured and assembled. He also made arrangements to have our blinds installed.
