I learned about this place through Yelp event I attended. This was a really fun event! I got to meet Ashleigh and Elena, the owners of this shop. They were super nice and Ashleigh showed us how to screen-print our own shirts. I really enjoyed learning how to do it. It was fun and easy to do and the shirt designs were so professional-looking. We got to choose from four different designs and choose the color and size of t-shirt we wanted. I always love events where there's a make-and-take. The shop is really cool and has a lot of fun designs for t-shirts. They also sell coffee mugs and drinking glasses with a Des Moines logo that Ashleigh designed. Another great thing about their merchandise is that it's all so reasonably priced unlike a lot of other t-shirt places out there. They also do mobile screen-printing. They can come to festivals, small parties and corporate events and people can print their own t-shirts. That's such a cool idea! I can't believe nobody thought of it before. The Side Garage is really rad screen printing shop that pops up around town at festivals and events! Much like a food truck, for design and printing.. Crazy idea right! That's just one reason I love it! They let you be hands on and see the cool process of what they do! Each time I have seen their pop up customized print shop at work it has been unique to the festival or farmers market they have been working in! I have never seen anything like this and I think it's totally crazy and awesome! They also do design services. This sweet store has so much to offer! Custom Des Moines and Iowa designs with lots of love. The owners are so nice and helpful! They offer custom 'print parties' and unique pieces. I snagged a few notebooks and will be back for a sweet mug. Also, their tshirts and sweatshirts are comfy and adorable! read more

These two are awesome. Side Garage has managed to fill an art/printing space in the Des Moines scene that I didn't realize we needed but totally do. Stellar designs that set themselves apart from the bigger shops in town. Awesome that they host events themselves and have managed to fine tune printing on the go and be part of all kinds of different events (mixology nights at the science center, yelp events, farmers market, etc etc etc). Great new spot in Valley Junction! These ladies work hard and have fun and it shows. All of the designs are so cute and love that they let you help make your shirt! The shirts are comfy.
