We were visiting from the East Coast and really enjoyed everything about this restaurant, a taste of Pakistan in South Dakota! The outside area is very well thought out and I absolutely loved all the decor, including the beautiful violet flowers in the background. We sat in the igloo, great for if the weather is a little rainy. There are also games you can play like connect four and mini golf. Now.. on to the food! We were really craving rice after days of travel eating burgers and sandwiches. We shared the chicken tikka, lamb, eggplant, and daal and each were served with a bed of rice and chutney. The chicken had a nice amount of spice. Naan tasted fresh and was a great accompaniment. We could tell a lot of love went into the food. Owners and service were great and would highly recommend to anyone, locals and visitors alike!

No matter where we go, even on vacation in Hot Springs, SD, my husband wants Middle Eastern or Indian food. If you find yourself wanting it too, do not sleep on The Silk Road. I wish our picture was scratch and sniff because it smells simply amazing. The food from Silk Road Experience hit the spot when we needed a hot filling meal on a bitter cold night. Silk Road offers Pakistani and Indian food. I got the beef and he got the chicken and it came with the best garlic naan. The beef was too spicy for me but my hubby enjoyed it all. I highly recommend checking this place out. I hope we can return when it's warm enough to enjoy outside in their little courtyard area with lights strung around. Such wonderful ambiance. Also, the couple who own this are very sweet and open for conversation. They'll answer all your questions about the food, and they love giving samples. Try the tea!

No bathroom here with being an outdoor place and all, so this review is all food and service. The service here is so awesome. The owners are the nicest people on the planet and the food is incredible. They even have vegan options! PLEASE check this place out, you WILL NOT regret it. Easily my favorite restaurant in Hot Springs, one of my favorites in the Black Hills, maybe one of my favorites in the state of South Dakota. An absolute hidden gem.

This is such a great restaurant! If you are ever in Hot Spring, South Dakota and crave authentic Pakistani cuisine, look no further than The Silk Road. While I have not yet had an opportunity to enjoy their dinner menu, I have enjoyed their Paratha Rolls twice thus far, with BBQ lamb and chicken, and they were excellent. They are very much like Greek gyros, but with a Pakistani touch. I highly recommend ordering the BBQ lamb version, because it was excellent, and because it is hard to find decent lamb. I paid via Venmo both times.

Okra Masala, comes with garlic naan and basmati rive. Mango Lassi.

Kind of a food truck vibe although the structure appears to be permanent. Cash or check only. Outside dining only. Served on paper. Nevertheless, awesomely good. Subtly spiced. Certainly not expected from that presentation. I probably wouldn't have eaten here if it hadn't been recommended by my Airbnb host. Glad I did.

Front of restaurant. With the owner to the left. Take out and outdoor seating only.

What an amazing surprise to find this delicious Pakistani place in hot springs. The food was so good we bought an extra entree to take home with us! More specifically - the naan was out of this world and as a fellow diner said "something you will crave" after. We enjoyed the cardamom Iced tea as well as the mango lassi served on ice so not as sweet and thick as other places - more enjoyable and drinkable. Everything was flavorful and well balanced and fresh. While I don't know the exact menu you will have - it changes daily with just a few dishes a day - I can promise you will love it. And that they will have both vegan and gluten free options for you. Just be sure to bring cash or a check! They don't take cards. Finally - we can not thank the owners enough for sharing their food and hearts with us. You made our trip!!

Food was very good. Eating is outdoor only so we took ours to go. Great find on Yelp.

If you're visiting Mount Rushmore and looking for a place to eat before or after your visit, I…read morecan't say enough about the Powder House restaurant. It is a must stop. Service was really good from the time I called to be added to the waitlist to our hostess all the way to our server. The food came out at a reasonable time. Ordered: -Kids spaghetti -Kids cheeseburger and fries -Ribeye- a little chewier but still a great cut. -Prime rib made perfectly very flavorful I was super surprise and highly recommend prime rib if you are a prime rib fan. It comes with two sides which I got to pay extra and ordered the garlic fries. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by here to dine. I have no complaints whatsoever. It was actually the best meal I have had during my visit to this state. When my sister in law recommended this spot, I did not think that I would have enjoyed it as much as I did. Just because there is not much food options in the area and I didn't think that this spot could produce really good food since I am from California and am a foodie. And well Powder House is kinda in the middle of no where. Well, 2 thumbs up from this Yelper. Add this spot to your bookmark and make sure you go! Tips: -Call ahead to be added to their waitlist. -Indoor seating only -Alcohol served here -They have a kids menu -They have their own private parking lot -Credit card accepted -They do charge for splitting plate of eight dollars. -Restroom available. -Very laidback casual atmosphere.

Popular place with a wide variety of choices for dinner--friendly and attentive service (if you…read moredon't see your server, ask another--they clearly work well as a team) and interesting decor. Starter and food, drinks, etc., are brought promptly to the table. This is exceptional in a highly popular tourist area. The food is good but could use a little improvement--the grilled mahi-mahi was good, but a little on the dry sauce and definitely needed a sauce. A couple of the dishes did have sauces, but fish is why most Creole restaurants like Brennan's will serve a sauce on the side, or a topping with butter such as Trout Almandine. It doesn't have to be a fancy sauce--the option of good ol' tartar sauce works. The grilled vegetables also needed a little more butter and seasoning. Carrots are good on their own; broccoli and cauliflower need a little cheese or butter and some seasoning to be loved. The IPA (Long John) was excellent. The beer cheese dip and soft pretzels were to die for; the chardonnay was passable. A great choice for dining in a VERY heavily traveled tourist destination. Get there early--it starts filling up fast and all the restaurants around Mount Rushmore close at 9.

Beer is pretty good! I enjoyed a flight and we ordered the pretzels + beer cheese and mozzarella…read moresticks and both were just what we were looking for. They brought our puppy a bowl of water and a bone to chew on which was very nice. The patio is spacious and the ambiance is fun. Good spot!
