Oh my God, the food... Go support this charming Pakistani place! The food is literally out of this world! Adorable tiny rustic wooden building with fun, plentiful outdoor seating areas (next to Two Cows in downtown Hot Springs on River Street). We tried the chicken & also the shredded beef lunch: the beef over their amazing naan-style bread and the chicken over their delicious rice. The meats were perfectly cooked to perfection (literally fall apart, consistency in the best way) with flavorful, fresh seasonings and spices (with delightful, sliced cucumbers, and fresh sauces) that remind you, you are eating truly authentic Pakistani food. We also had a mango lassi drink, which was delightful! Owners are warm and kind & a pleasure to chat with - we are definitely looking forward to our next visit! Make sure you don't miss out while are in Hot Springs! (From what we remember, they are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for lunch and Friday, Saturday for dinner!) Absolutely delicious food! My boyfriend and I were passing through Hot Springs from Spearfish on our way to Colorado, and are so glad we stopped by for lunch here! Service was great and the owner was very friendly--we had a very lovely conversation with him before we got back on the road. Seating outside was really lovely and the decorations and ambiance were beautiful! Definitely on our list of places to visit when we're back in the area! We were visiting from the East Coast and really enjoyed everything about this restaurant, a taste of Pakistan in South Dakota! The outside area is very well thought out and I absolutely loved all the decor, including the beautiful violet flowers in the background. We sat in the igloo, great for if the weather is a little rainy. There are also games you can play like connect four and mini golf. Now.. on to the food! We were really craving rice after days of travel eating burgers and sandwiches. We shared the chicken tikka, lamb, eggplant, and daal and each were served with a bed of rice and chutney. The chicken had a nice amount of spice. Naan tasted fresh and was a great accompaniment. We could tell a lot of love went into the food. No matter where we go, even on vacation in Hot Springs, SD, my husband wants Middle Eastern or Indian food. If you find yourself wanting it too, do not sleep on The Silk Road. I wish our picture was scratch and sniff because it smells simply amazing. The food from Silk Road Experience hit the spot when we needed a hot filling meal on a bitter cold night. Silk Road offers Pakistani and Indian food. I got the beef and he got the chicken and it came with the best garlic naan. The beef was too spicy for me but my hubby enjoyed it all. I highly recommend checking this place out. I hope we can return when it's warm enough to enjoy outside in their little courtyard area with lights strung around. Such wonderful ambiance. The owners are the nicest people on the planet and the food is incredible. They even have vegan options! PLEASE check this place out, you WILL NOT regret it. This is such a great restaurant! If you are ever in Hot Spring, South Dakota and crave authentic Pakistani cuisine, look no further than The Silk Road. While I have not yet had an opportunity to enjoy their dinner menu, I have enjoyed their Paratha Rolls twice thus far, with BBQ lamb and chicken, and they were excellent. They are very much like Greek gyros, but with a Pakistani touch. I highly recommend ordering the BBQ lamb version, because it was excellent, and because it is hard to find decent lamb. What an amazing surprise to find this delicious Pakistani place in hot springs. The food was so good we bought an extra entree to take home with us! More specifically - the naan was out of this world and as a fellow diner said "something you will crave" after. We enjoyed the cardamom Iced tea as well as the mango lassi served on ice so not as sweet and thick as other places - more enjoyable and drinkable. Everything was flavorful and well balanced and fresh. While I don't know the exact menu you will have - it changes daily with just a few dishes a day - I can promise you will love it. And that they will have both vegan and gluten free options for you. Just be sure to bring cash or a check! They don't take cards. You could easily miss this place but then you would be missing out on some of the best food in Hot Springs, SD. The restaurant is housed in a permanent food truck with canape covered outdoor dining on picnic tables. It's open for lunch daily, take-out and dinner (at the time we dined) only a couple of nights a week - I think Fri & Sat. This Pakistani food is prepared and served by a warm and friendly husband and wife team. The menu was limited to four choices, but the food was absolutely delicious. This is some of the best food I've ever tasted. Everything was wonderfully spiced with delicate flavors singing in your mouth. The chicken, beef and vegetarian entries just melt in your mouth. Every bite leaves you smiling with delight. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality with generous portions. We'll be back next time we are in town! read more

In from Chicago only to find a gem in Hot Springs. We ordered the Chicken and the Salmon curries and they were equally amazing. Well spiced to be flavorful but not splice. Well cooked where the meat was moist and tender. The real secret is the beverages. We ordered the lassi, the chai, and the kulka soda. All equally amazing with balanced flavors and a refreshing taste. The owners took great care of us as out of towners. It's clear they have a local following and we watched as they took outstanding care of us all the other families. We even ordered extra meals to eat on the road when we leave in the morning. Amazing food tucked in a corner in Hot Springs. Upon special request they prepared a catered meal for us to pick up and enjoy in Centennial Park. Even the kids who are known to be picky eaters lived the chicken tikka masala. The garlic naan, sauce, and rice were also amazing. A "must try" if you visit Hot Springs! read more

Our friends got dinner here and brought back their leftovers to the Airbnb. When we arrived after our drive in we ate all their leftovers LOL! They were so tasty! When you live in a larger city and have many cuisines, eating at smaller places in small towns can make you nervous. But this place didn't disappoint! (We ate their leftover curry chicken and curry salmon). When we ventured out the next day we saw the place and it was super cute with outdoor seating. Definitely recommend :) read more
