We have been coming to the lake for years and have heard how great this restaurant is. I have to admit everyone is correct the food and service here is top notch. We ate here on a Thursday night around 7:00. We got right in and got a table in the bar. The bartender came from behind the bar to take our drink order. Within a couple of minutes my wife had her glass of wine and I had my beer. Full service bar with a lot of specialty cocktails. A couple minutes later our waitress came by and explained the specials. We were ready so my wife ordered the chicken marsala and I got the salmon. Our entree's arrived quickly. My salmon had a nice Asian glaze with rice and broccoli. Fish was cooked perfectly and the glaze had a nice sweet taste. My wife loved her marsala which had a lot of sauce and mushrooms. It was a huge breast with pasta and fresh pan roasted green beans. Let me just say if I lived in the area I'd be here every week. The food was absolutely delightful. I mean it was so good that I wanted to stomp my feet and clap my hands. I had the flat iron steak medium well with parmesan grits and my boyfriend had the NY Strip. Both were delicious. Ate here again for the second time and again enjoyed a fabulous meal! My wife had the crab stuffed flounder and I had the 20 ounce prime rib. Both were excellent. Even the fries and coleslaw were especially good. This is a popular place so expect a wait, but there is room inside and outside where you can sit comfortably and your patience will be rewarded. Nice surprise.. we were visiting Reynolds thinking about purchasing a home. We got back late and all restaurants inside premises close at 9:00 pm on a Saturday... whaaat? So found SM and was open til 10:00 so we rushed over... they were still busy but we found a seat at bar. Both bartenders were pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive . The owner happen to be out at the bar and was introduced to us... we had the steak ribeye special cooked to perfection and not too much fat . Side of cream of spinach yum!! It didn't stop even though it should have .. we had the peanut butter whipped with chocolate pie.. and after dinner drinks!! We will definitely be back on our next visit and be regulars if we purchase a home!! Thanks!! read more

Silver Moon has been a great little "hidden gem" since it's inception! I've been fortunate enough to live on Lake Oconee my entire life. My parents used to tell stories of driving me in their Jeep through the troughs of what is now Lake Oconee...so when I say I was born & bred here, it's really true! That being said, I've known every restaurant that's been in business here...and The Silver Moon is a tried and true staple of our beautiful area! There isn't one item on the menu that's "better" than the otgers...they are ALL delicious! And this isn't mouth service...there's a reason they've been in business for so long: the food is scrumptious!! Literally, everything is awesome! Our family of 4 waited 45 minutes for a table. Once seated at the very back of the restaurant when open tables were free, we waited 15 minutes for server to show for drink orders. We were visiting and this was ABSOLUTELY the BEST restaurant we have been to in a long time! We had the filet and u could cut it with a fork and the stuffed fish with parm grits and it was amazing!!! Be prepared to wait though, not a big deal for us since we know it before we leave the house but if you are coming and think you will sit right down, don't count on that. I really liked this cute little restaurant. I've been wanting to try it but it's know to be very busy at times. Luckily we only had two people in front of us when we arrived. I will say they have a small menu which is not always bad. For our appetizer we had the "Hot roasted corn & Crap dip" served w/hot bread for dipping. Hands down one of the best dips I have had! It's a must when you go here. You will not be disappointed. We ordered the "Fish-N-Chips" which were light and crispy w/fries and slaw. The fish was not greasy and was so fresh. The fries are almost like shoe string fries which went perfectly w/the meal. For dessert we ordered the "strawberry shortcake" and "Chocolate bread pudding". I would say I loved them both equally just depends on what kind of mood you are in if you want something rich or not. I want to go back and try one of their burgers. read more

I was driving through on a business trip and I thought I entered a time machine. There was a Ritz-Carlton nearby and beautiful lakes on both sides of the road. I passed by this seafood shack and we turned around just to eat here. We walked in the door and the demographics should not have surprised me. Rich white people everywhere. If a black church group walked in here I would have died to see the look on their faces. Actually just one black person. I was wary to eat here but my party was determined. I was trying to be good so I ordered a tuna steak salad. The waitress asked me how I wanted it cooked. I was slightly confused because I wanted some nice, seared tuna. I told her seared and I feared what I was going to receive. It came out and there were two triangular pieces of tuna steak that were seared. I took a couple of bites and my tuna was frozen. I told her it was cold and the waitress said that is what I asked for. I said, no I asked for seared, not frozen tuna. That would require the tuna to be fresh and not from a freezer after they bought it from Sam's Club. She offered to take it back, but I declined. If I was going to get that kind of food I would not expect better. It just did not need to be on the menu. If you want something here I would recommend a burger or something fried. I saw other plates and they seem to specialize in that. Don't expect anything fancy. I would not return either way. read more

We arrived at 6pm, put our name on the board and we were called within 10 mins. Our server Bethany was friendly, she took drink orders and we explained to her that we wanted to order all the food at once appetizers and main courses all together. She gave us water and drinks and she excused her self. About 20 mins into the wait, she came by and i asked for another beer. Our food took a while to come to the table. When the food came out, the food for 4ppl came out buy orders were incomplete, the food for the 5th person was missing. She said she come back. When she finally completed the food orders, the last person on the table was still missing her entire dinner plate. Lucky the mussing plate was a tuna steak which we wanted rare. I had asked her for a shot of triple sec and we waited 10 minutes to get it? Really, all they had to do was pour it. It took a few minutes to get the tuna. She blamed the kitchen for the incomplete entrees but she had no excuse for the missing dinner plate of tuna salad. Not sure if she is new but she lacked service skills and she did not even bother to offer a free dessert for the table for her failure to deliver a smooth service. experience. Our order was pretty easy 3 chilis with 3 baked potatoes, steak salad, tuna salad and a small soup. Somehow she managed to forget ALL the baked potatoes and the order of tuna salad. I have dined here 3 times, every time the food is consistently delicious, huge portions, with friendly servers that are very engaging. Tonight, the service was a failure, the food was delicious but the lack of care and concern from our server was just unacceptable. Please retrain your servers so you can keep repeat guests happy. read more

We've been going to the Silver Moon since 2006. In those 17 years I've never had a bad meal, the quality of the food is consistently good. I had chicken fingers last Friday night, they are unbelievable, 5 huge, never frozen, hand breaded tenders with one side that were perfectly fried. My wife had the Halibut, delicious! Additionally, they pour great wines, such as Prisoner, by the glass. The only problem at the Moon is that it is sooo good, it attracts large numbers of regulars and at times wait times can be lengthy. That said, it is worth the wait. Silver Moon is a local hotspot!! Don't be scared away by the gravel parking lot or the fact that there isn't an actual sign out front. Wander into the cozy cabin-like restaurant and put your name on the list, I mean chalkboard! Head to the bar for a cold beer or their house sauvignon blanc - yum! After waiting about 30 mins for our table - we were seated in the large dining area. We all ordered another round of drinks and the philly cheese steak spring roll appetizer to share. The spring roll was great and tasted just like a greasy cheesy philly cheese steak should. For dinner I had the fried chicken BLT with french fries, absolutely delicious! Instead of mayo, I put spicy mustard on my sandwich - the bread was toasted with thick bacon slices and fresh tomato. Everyone is our group was very pleased with their food and the service was great & efficient! Don't expect fine dining when going to Silver Moon!
