From the moment you walk in, you can tell how much heart and creativity Tiffany has poured into every detail. Instead of screens and technology, children are encouraged to use their imaginations through beautifully designed real-world play spaces. My son could have spent hours exploring the café, bakery, pizza shop, grocery store, kitchen, vet clinic, auto shop and garage, garden with a campfire, and so much more. Every corner invites creativity, problem-solving, and pretend play. As a mom, I also appreciated all of the little details. The facility is cleanly, with comfortable adult seating, a coloring table, and even a child-sized bathroom that made potty breaks and handwashing easy for my son. Their "Yuck Bucket" policy is reassuring, where any toy that ends up in a child's mouth is put by parents or caregivers for staff to sanitizing and shows how seriously they take cleanliness. Before each play session ends, they give a 10-minute warning and encourage the children to help clean up, teaching responsibility and teamwork in such a positive way. Grasshopper Grove also offers fantastic summer camps and Kindermusik classes, a research-based program that combines music, movement, stories, instruments, and play to support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The staff is incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely adds to the magic of this special place. You can pay for one time visit at a very reasonable rate or sign up for a membership for greater savings. Needless to say, we'll be celebrating my son's 4th birthday here! I also have to say that my child and every friend's child I know who has gone here gets sick EVERY time they visit. To be clear, we go to the library, multi play spaces, and this is the only place that I can guarantee we are ill after. Every. Time. It makes me feel like they rely too much on parents cleaning up or putting things in a yuck bucket versus actually disinfecting the place. They honestly might benefit from getting rid of some of their toys in this case - to make it easier to keep clean. The space is cute and I appreciate the variety they have, but due to the above mentioned, we will likely not return again.

The bathrooms are a bit tight and in need of an upgrade. More importantly, there isn't any hot water to wash your hands. This is a little difficult when you're trying to handle a one month old infant and don't want to put ice cold hands on him. The food is amazing at Dual and the cooks also super friendly. I highly recommend Dual Lanes. South Side I would NOT recommend. Southside-a crap hole. The AC was "on" yet it was literally almost as hot inside as outside in mid-JULY. The carpet, tables and chairs are something from that 70's show. The bathrooms have no locks on the doors! No Mikes hard drinks or Smirnoff available at the concession. Also, they had a sign no credit/debit card purchases under $5.00...that is illegal! You either take cards or ya don't. Saturdays in the summer they offer 99cent/person games and that's a great deal.

As a team building exercise my team went to Southside Bowl to play Duckpin Bowling. As a west…read morecoaster I had never heard of such a sport but there are 10 Duckpin Bowling States: Connecticut, Maryland, Indiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and West Virginia. There are even professional leagues. I normally get bored quickly with regular bowling but I could have played Duckpin all night! The entire bowling alley is dedicated to the sport. The alleys are identical to the "standard" alley. Long lanes, ugly bowling shoes, but the pins are short and fat and the ball used is small, heavy, with no holes. It reminds me of a botchy ball. You step up to the line and bowl in turns just like the classic. The thing for me that makes it more fun is the pins will spin out and knock pins down that normally wouldn't if you were playing traditionally. This game is fun and exciting and I really enjoyed my time here. I wish there were some alleys here in SF maybe this will catch on in California and there will be 11 Duckpin states.
