This is the first place I've tried pilates and now that it's been a while, I can accurately say this studio has some great instructors. Pros: I get bored of working out so I like the type of classes offered, 3 difficulty levels to choose from and classes all day every day to make sure it works for your schedule. -The workouts always vary too. You try something new almost every time, which I really enjoy. -I love the jump board class- iykyk. -Instructors are well qualified and challenge you every time. -Try out different classes and instructors :) Cons: Classes can get full so as soon as your month starts, sign up for the next 4 weeks asap. But there is a wait list! -Canceling is not much of an option if you don't do it within 24 hours, which sucks on occasion but understandable since it's a small biz/studio. read more

Club Pilates Brea has been a part of my routine for me for the last almost 2 years. I started with 2 classes a week, then 3 classes per week and now I have unlimited classes which I love. Instructors are knowledgeable and caring, and eventually you find the ones that are a great fit for you. My only advice is to somehow, structurally, provide more division to the private Pilates classroom because sometimes the instructor and clients voices carry over to the regular classroom and it's hard to concentrate on our workout. Especially if you are on the back transformers, maybe put a sound wall all the way to ceiling? Love the location l! read more

Please stop turning the air conditioning off during the middle of classes and opening the doors instead. We pay a lot of money per month not to have air conditioning. The teachers are great, some better than others, but all have been very knowledgeable, welcoming, and motivating. I signed up expecting to try Pilates for a month and was upfront about my limited schedule. Unfortunately, this studio operates in a way that feels very impersonal--like you're just a contract, not a client. I was only able to attend one class. Another time, I arrived late and was not allowed to participate, which I understand, but I was told I would receive a credit. That never happened. Despite barely being able to use the service, I was still charged after canceling. Paying for essentially one class is extremely disappointing. What stood out the most is the lack of flexibility or understanding. There was no effort to work with me or honor what was communicated--just strict enforcement of policies. I do not understand the reason of MUST to speak to me before attending other than trying to sell me package, but how am I supposed to know if I like Pilates or this studio before trying it out. I have been attending this location for a month and my experience has been disappointing in both instruction quality and customer service. In a recent Level 1 class with Kimberley I chose a lower intensity day due to soreness from another workout. During legwork she approached my reformer mid-movement and removed a spring without any notice. The sudden loss of resistance caused the reformer to jolt forward. Had I been standing I could have fallen and struck my face on the concrete floor. She also failed to confirm that my reformer was fully closed before making the change. This occurred twice in the same class. Removing resistance without warning while a client is mid-exercise is a clear safety hazard. I reported this to Amanda the manager. Her response was that instructors routinely adjust springs without notifying clients and would never create a safety concern. She stated Kimberley acted within Club Pilates Safety Guidelines even after I explained the changes happened during an exercise not between movements. If this practice is within Club Pilates' safety policy it is unsafe and unacceptable. Clients should not be exposed to sudden changes in resistance that could result in injury especially when it happened in a level 1 class- which many times are beginners. I am sharing this so others are aware of the standards in place here before making a decision to join. read more

I have been attending Club Pilates for over one year. Before that, I was at two smaller studios. I switched studios due to moving to a new location. My commute to my last studio (not a Club Pilates) was taking an hour there and 75 min home. I am only comparing to what I had before. The last studio I had--people greeted me by name and made small talk before, during, and after class. They really took time to get to know me (even brought presents for my kids on holidays!) I understand this is a larger studio and its flow classes so there is not any talking between moves because we are not resting between moves. It's just taken some time for me to get used to this different style. The workouts are great and safe. They are fun too because they are always changing and I always feel challenged. I have been going to the Brea Club Pilates for over 4 years now. When I began, I was worried about being a male in a typically female place. I found out that not only were my concerns unjustified, but I have completely changed my 68 year old physical body more than I ever expected. I wanted to still workout after having a few surgeries, I tried getting back in the gym, I tried boot camps but all of them were too strenuous on my body. Love everything about Club Pilates! Equipment is clean and every instructor has such a different way style of instruction so you'll definitely find one that fits your taste. There are single jump in class options (most expensive), however they also offer bundles (keep in mind the bundles renew month to month however have a 3 month commitment, otherwise you'll need to pay a cancellation penalty). Parking is... well, if you've ever been to this plaza you'll know it's full of great shops plus Whole Foods, so parking during prime hours will be kind of tough even though there's so many parking spots. Here are the instructors I've had so far: Dmitrios - toughest of them all! High energy for sure. His level 1 classes are more like 1.5 and he'll definitely make sure you feel the burn. Choose him if you really want to challenge yourself! Brittany - clearest demonstrator of the moves/positions. I'd say pretty big difference between her level 1 and level 1.5 and you'll definitely be challenged at the 1.5 if you're a beginner Corrine - only took 1 class with her so far but she's definitely more beginner friendly Dee - also very beginner friendly and makes most use of stretches in my opinion read more
