I had a teeth cleaning and what I would call a "dental conversation" at this practice. The dental hygienist was the least-skilled hygienist I have ever encountered. After a painful cleaning, she took a few photos of my mouth. The dentist looked at these photos but did not do an actual exam. He looked at x-rays that my previous dentist had sent. Based on this, within a few minutes he told me that I needed a crown. Hmm.... Imagine that. My last exam was within six months and there was no indication of an issue. I decided to get a second opinion and that dentist said that no crown was needed. Between having a painful teeth cleaning and a casual review of photos and x-rays that resulted in a recommendation of an unneeded, expensive procedure, I will not be returning. I advise others to be wary and insist on a proper dental exam. read more

Tried this place after changing employers. Seemed nice and had good reviews. The dental cleaning was done by a new hire at the time (end of last year). It was probably the most painful cleaning ever. She kept saying she loved how straight my teeth were but exaggeratedly, so I think it was just a way to make conversation. I wouldn't go back because it traumatized me how much a dental gum check (ie with that periodontal probe) could hurt. I've had them done all my life and this one made me wince more than once. I mistakenly brought my mom here before this incident and while she got a cleaning by the established hygienist, she also got a "free" dental CT image as we were considering implants. The doc said he couldn't do my mom's particular case because it was complex. To avoid more radiation at an actual specialist's appointment elsewhere, we asked for the CT but got the "only free if you stick with us" spiel. Do not think this policy is aligned to HIPAA, so watch out: not everything that Smiles is ethical. read more

The staff is very communicative with me during the appointments. I'm always greeted warmly by Sylvia, who runs the front. The office is bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean. Easy parking in a large safe lot. I'm leaving my old office because of insurance stuff. This office doesn't make you pay the entire amount for your visit up front (Delta insured know what I mean) and then have to wait for the reimbursement from the insurance company. After my long time, dentist retired I was at a loss. Miraculously I was led to The Smile Company. They had me at hello! Sylvia and Isabel were my first contact and they made me feel welcome. Sylvia has a way of making everything happen with ease and harmony whether it's getting an appointment or dealing with some billing issue. She just makes it work. Isabel is always cheerful and helpful. Dr. Daniel Kim is not only very personable, but he is an amazing dentist who can do anything. He's a dental sleuth. In my search of a replacement for my retired dentist I was running into brick walls. The pain that I was experiencing was not being dealt with by any of the dentists that I was seeing. Dr. Kim wasn't going to let it slide. He was able to determine the problem and immediately the pain was gone. The issue was a failed implant. Once that was discovered the process to replace the implant was smooth and successful. He is my angel. Since then, I've had wonderful experiences. Adriana, Dr. Kim's assistant, Jessica, the hygienist and Leila, who scanned me for a mouthguard have all been wonderful. They are good at what they do and are warm and friendly.
