No one does farmers markets quite like Portland, so the Hillsdale FM rose the top to my must-visit list. This spot has all the freshest ingredients, plus Portland neighborhood charm. I practically had to take a loan out to afford my findings, including: bourbon soaked cherries, jalapeño salt, hot sauce, a jar of sauerkraut, vegan bibimbap, baked goods, black sesame coffee, green juices/nut milks, feta stuffed chicken sausage, apple cider, and hummus and pita. It's truly an expensive hobby. Parking is easy with a upper and low parking lot, as well as nearby street/neighborhood parking. I'd recommend bringing a big reusable bag along for the ride!

Not a ton of hot food vendors, but they've got Twisted Croissant, so what more could you want? Definitely smaller than PSU, and more of a place to get fresh groceries rather than a date spot or excursion, but there is a playground nearby for kids.

Thursdays 3:30-7:30 June through September…read moreLocated in the parking lot of the Multnomah Village Arts Center It's nice to have a farmers market in the Village, for sure, and this one has screaming potential. The hours are uniquely convenient to the after work crowd and I occasionally enjoy stopping by on my way home for a few tidbits. The bummer is that it's such a small market. There are a few veggie and fruit vendors with beautiful produce, as well as a couple of prepared food vendors (sure smells good!). However, it hardly competes with the popular Hillsdale weekend farmers market, as there's no cheese, fish, bread, sweets, and other fun specialties available yet. Due to the lack of variety, I usually wait til the weekend and just hit the Hillsdale market for one-stop shopping, so I hope the Multnomah Village market can add more vendors soon. I realize the weekday time probably prohibits some vendors from coming, but I can only imagine the crowds they'd get if this little market grows.

I always hit up Lucy's lemonade and stalk up on nursery plants at the start of the season: Other things to note are no pets allowed, many vendors are cash only and parking is limited. The market does have an atm for an up charge. Bring your sunscreen as the location is in the direct sun in a parking lot. There are a few hot food vendors, in the future we hope to see more ready to eat food.

Encompassing the eastern block of Elizabeth Caruthers park, you'll find about two dozen local vendors, selling farm produce, flowers, handicrafts, baked goods and treats, and a handful of food carts! As this was my first visit, I can't say whether or not the number of vendors is reduced thanks to COVID, as there is plenty of room for expansion along the other faces of the park. I guess I'll have to find out on my next Thursday excursion!

Then I'm on my way. Since this market is two street car stops away from my home, or an easy detour as I drive home, it's super convenient. Especially love that it's on a Thursday afternoon/evening since by this point in the week, we have already consumed the purchases from the markets on Saturday, which for me is PSU or Hollywood. Located on the SW Waterfront by OHSU, situated in front of the beautiful Elizabeth Carothers Park, it's perfect for taking your dog for a stroll or if you want to purchase items for a meal and picnic there. Mt. Tabor Bread is one of the best bakeries in Portland and it's worth a stop by this market just to pick up a baguette or their fig/walnut bread. If you want a scrumptious treat to eat on the spot, highly recommend the buckwheat chocolate chip or dark chocolate chocolate rye cookie. Or both! The Pie-guy has an assortment of pies, all out of this world. Sour cream key lime, marionberry, apple, pecan, blueberry, dazzle dazzle mixed berry - taste them all and it will be a challenge to pick one to bring home! My faves are the key lime and apple. They come in small (for 1-2), medium (2-3) and large. They are a few dollars more than pies I see at other markets, but the quality makes it worth it. Located on both the streetcar and max lines, it's easy to get here. There is street parking also, but depending on the time (5:00 on) it can be challenging. I stop by when they open and usually pull right up in front of stands.

Search for Hood Strawberries, that have a short 2 week season, I decided to venture to Moreland…read moreFarms Market after striking out at 3 other markets this week. Smaller than the markets I typically visit, the vendors represent a wide array of goods. And I got my Hood strawberries! As with all markets, there were lots of fresh fruits and produce available. One stand even put together a sampler box of Hood strawberries, local cherries and sugar snap peas, 2 pints of each. Very clever! Menegon,, the French crepe and caramel stand had me at hello. I had to sample the caramel, coffee caramel, and chocolate caramel and they all were divine! Rather than buy the sample pack, I opted for the 6oz jar of regular caramel; it was so soft and buttery, fabulous on crepes but why stop there? Drizzle in ice cream, pound cake, even in coffee. Made without excess sugar and no preservatives, I'll be back for the coffee caramel next! Wild Roots, a local and outstanding vodka distiller was represented there, as they are at most Portland Farmers Markets. Forest Edge Vineyards, a small winery from Forest Grove was also there offering samples and had a variety of their wine for sale. Most bakery items (scones, croissants) were gone by 4:30 but there were breads and cookies still up for grabs. Jams, bbq sauces, fruit juices, chips & salsa, botanical flavored salts, and a few other stands rounded out the goods. Several hot foods available too! Open on Wednesdays from 2-6pm, this is a great little mid-week market. Parking is challenging for those like me who drive here from other areas, but I was able to find a spot. Vendors are all engaging and the entire atmosphere is friendly and neighborly.

Portland has the Portland Farmers Market group of 7 markets. The James Beard Market is in planning. But some neighborhoods have organized their own independently, drawing farmers and ready to eat food kitchens. They even have their own, up to date website. Musical performances. All ages friendly. And Captured by Porches serves beer. The Moreland Farmers Market is a small well curated independent farmers market to find fresh ingredients, or to dine out on the spot with neighbors.

Online it says the top floor of the Sam Jackson C parking garage is for farmers market parking but the guy with the beard and accent at the booth is a waste of time and will ramble on for 10 minutes about how there might be parking but there might not and that he has no idea but he doesn't want you to go look for yourself which is genuinely enraging when you have just spent the last half hour looking for parking.

It was piping hot, flavorful, it was a lil on the dry side but, it was worth the wait. The service was fast and A1 I was greeted with a smile and ask how I wanted my tamale prepared so I got green chile sauce and creama absolutely delicious with those both on. The Ambiance was great per usual everyone was laughing, talking, smiling, and enjoying the band. Once again I would highly recommend you coming up it's every Tuesday 10am-2pm until September!

I didn't know either existed until I made a wrong turn, and a=happened upon it, and I've lived in Portland 25 years! About 15 vendors selling local honey, flowers, fruits and veggies in season, fresh bread, pastries and cookies, even grains. Hidden little gem.

They had about 15-20 vendors with all kinds of ultra-local/fresh/organic produce, baked goods, patisseries/desserts, eggs/meat, etc, very much keeping in theme with the People's Co-Op. Also, they are able to accept debit/credit cards which is a huge added convenience (I think you buy tokens with them and then use the tokens to buy actual products). A lot of the sellers here you will not find at the big Hollywood or PSU farmers markets, so it's nice to know there's more variety and another non-weekend market to consider! It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood! Biking or walking there is highly recommended :-)
