This little produce market is a gem! Even in the middle of winter, their produce is gorgous! the tri colored cherry tomatoes were beautifu, sweet and delicious. Fresh picked bags of lettuce, cucumbers, sweet peppers, red onions, all sorts of potatoes, carrots, green beans mushrooms, cauliflower, cabbage - everything you would find at the grocery store but better prices and higher quality. Even blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. I can't wait to see how the produce evolves once spring and summer arrive. In the small freezer are frozen pies made with fresh fruit from Willamette Valley. some fresh pies are also available in small and large sizes. While there you can also pick up milk, yogurt, cheese. Cottage cheese, and eggs making this a one stop shopping experience. They only have 1-2 varieties of each, but they're the brands I like. So happy I stopped in. When I go to Trader Joe's down the street, I'll stop here first for my fruits and veggies and the eggs which are just $4.99 and local. read more

This place had some very fresh fruits and vegetables sold out of an un signed They have nice thick ginger roots, and reasonably priced. This place is out of the way for me, but it's definitely a nice hidden produce shop. read more

They are a small family business that's been around for decades, selling lots of produce (both local and non-local), milk, etc. Prices vary a bit - most of it is fair/average, sometimes you get great deals (mostly on apples & pears), while other items can be really way more than expected. Big pluses for convenient hours and being the only food shop in a ~1 mile radius (perfect for Reed College students). read more

Earlier today, it rained. Schmoopie drove me to Berry Good Produce to pick out some yellow squashes, portobello mushrooms, and honey (it's in the biggest jar). There were any staff and the produce delivery guy there. I noticed that Schmoopie was looking at the food cart. I ordered Beef Bulgogi and a chicken meal. I was given rice with each meal. The chicken has lettuce and celery. The beef bulgogi has green onions and yellow squashes. Maybe even a little bit of yellow onion. There were two soy sauce packets, two packages of chopsticks, two plastic forks, two plastic spoons, and plenty of napkins in the to go bag. Schmoopie and I shared both meals. The red sauce was spicy Schmoopie said. I didn't taste it. Schmoopie and I arrived as the owner of the fruit stand was sawing the limb off of the fig tree. There's also lots of porduce. The dishes were tasty. I recommend the chicken. Schmoopie said he liked both meals. Schmoopie sat down while we waited for the meals to be cooked. I took a picture of the house that is in the adjacent lot to the two fenced-in areas at Berry Good. I wanted to leave a review for the food cart... but it's not listed. MexiKorea is the name. I practiced speaking Spanish with the chef at the food cart. There are other foods carts.... but those were closed. It's nice at this location there is a structure over the dining area. It's like a big tent with openings on the sides. I didn't have to wait in the rain. The stones on the paths were easy to walk over in my boot shoes. read more

I was the only customer at the berry stand today. The shopkeeper was annoyed with questions about the produce and repeatedly answered I don't know. She overcharged me at the register, as I began reviewing the prices of each item, she was impatient and annoyed, recognized that she overcharged for one item, and corrected it. I started the process again to finish the review of all items, I mentioned that another item was not consistent with the posted price, and with an antagonizing tone, she said these just came in, hadn't had time to put up a new sign, and only worked one day a week. When asked another question she snapped I JUST opened the store. After spending over $100.00 I wish I had walked away and purchased my items elsewhere. This is the best place to go for fruit and veggies. The people who work here are always really nice, and their prices are considerably less than the grocery stores. I am an apple FREAK, and this place always has such tasty apples. When Safeway was selling Honeycrisp apples for 3.00 p/lb., this fruit stand was selling them for under a dollar p/lb. When I was at school at Reed, I was thankful for this year-round independently-owned and operated produce stand located close to the edge of campus. Then when I got a job that was just down the way, my appreciation for Berry Good only grew. One of the few markets that doesn't close up due to the incessent rains of winter, Berry Good stocks local fresh produce and sells it at a reasonable price. Staff is always helpful and friendly, too! And if you're headed to the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens, Berry Good sells duck food. read more

They also have milk, eggs, cheese, ice cream bars, San pelligrino, nuts, honey, hand woven baskets and cute hand made blank cards. Berry Good is quite close to me and their fresh produce is always wonderful. For me, it's a great option if I don't feel like making a trip to a full grocery store. They also sell excellent jams and honey. Everything (I think) is local and priced pretty decently. The staff are also very pleasant and friendly. I have passed by this stand several times, always meaning to stop, but I never did until last week. There was only one other customer in the very tiny store, and the person behind the register was too busy to acknowledge my presence. I looked through the produce, and decided that I could find better produce, at better prices in my local QFC. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I wish their was a negative star because this is down right a rip off. Took my mother who is on disability 78 years old. She had farmers coupons for produce. She carefully picked her produce and we took it to the counter. The lady behind was very rude stating the coupons are only good for local produce. There were no signs stating this. So I paid for the produce not local and left on our way to Fred Meyers. The watermelon in which was the same brand I got from this produce store was half the price at fred meyers. If you can't make it to a farmer's market in the summer, this place is a great option, open 6 days a week. The berries which I must have every day are almost always very fresh, and prices are good. I hesitate to tell you about the huckleberries they have in the fridge in August, because those are mine. I will fight you for them. It's also a good place to buy inexpensive local honey and food for the ducks at the Rhododendron Garden. read more

I stopped by here for the first time today, and I'm really disappointed that I've been missing this place for two years! It's a very cute little stand and the guy working the cash register was very nice and friendly. I didn't interact with him very much, but he acted attentive and as though he actually liked his job. Their selection was pretty nice; they had ripe peaches and local nectarines for about $1.50 a pound. They also had some nice looking blackberries for $3 a pint, but I didn't know how much fruit I could eat before it spoiled. They also have milk, eggs, and locally made bread. I didn't get a good look at these things, but I plan to go back and check them out some more. I wish I was able to cook more; I'd be coming here all the time! read more

Berry Good would be 'berry good' if they were straightforward about what they are. They sell produce from nearby and very far away - bananas, mangoes, etc. I made two trips. The first time I assumed they grew most though obviously not all of what they sell. I asked the cashier if any of the produce is organic. She said she didn't know "but we are a no-spray farm." My receipt said Parsons Farms in Canby. Parsons Farms' minimalist website (http://www.parsonsfarmsoregon.com/) commits to nothing, even to being a farm. Today I tried again, figured I'd ask which items are from their farms - though by now I was sceptical what "their" meant. "All of it." OK, try a different tack. "Can you tell me please which is local?" "It's from Oregon, Washington, California." "The pineapples?" She looked in a list. "Oh, yeah. They're from Hawaii." This is just a store that sells non-organic produce (and other groceries) that they get from wherever. As for the claim in an announcement of ownership change a couple years ago, "Manager Lori Christensen assures THE BEE that all produce will be local,"(https://pamplinmedia.com/sb/75-features/407009-305044-berry-good-farm-market-on-se-28th-changes-owners-and-hours-pwoff) well, that isn't what has happened.
