This gem is off the beaten track by a small marina. The staff was friendly and the barbecue had just the right amount of smoke on it. I had the half rack of ribs with Cole slaw and grilled, buttered French bread. The ribs were perfectly cooked and the barbecue sauce on top was super yummy. The cole slaw had a mayo based dressing which I prefer. My husband had the special of the day, pulled pork Philly sandwich with grilled mushrooms, onions, peppers, and melty Swiss cheese. He hummed with happiness and commented on the lovely smoke. The veggies added texture and flavor. We were thankful for the paper towel roll on each table and enjoyed our view of the Missouri River. Yelp reviewers, you have failed me. I don't think there is any cheese in the mac and cheese. I can't fathom how it was sweet and had no other flavor, but if that's your thing, go for it, I guess. Do yourself a favor, if you're looking for a savory side, though, and get the fries. The Cuban sandwich was tasty and I devoured it. Not traditionally what I think of as a cubano, but I-90 is light on fine dining experiences. read more

We want pretty late and the place was almost empty but I loved the smoked Mac and cheese and the burger was good too. The crazy part was the massive amount of geese that flew in while we sat there. I would guess it was in the thousands. Not even kidding. It was entertaining to watch as we waited for our food. Unfortunately this went south so quickly and before we ordered any food. Just be prepared for a disgruntled staff - several were complaining loudly. We were told to wait for a seat, then we were told to sit anywhere. We chose the only clean open table - a long one - which ticked off the waitress. She kept saying it was for big parties and they were busy (no one waiting). Despite us saying we were fine with moving, and only sat there because we were told to chose some place, she kept on telling us the tables against the back are for big groups. Finally I said I hear you, it's no problem, we just sat there because she said anywhere...but she still wanted to go on... We then got to hear that she's too busy and trying to keep up... Anyways, we got up and left. Our waitress definitely needed a break so we gave her one by leaving so she'd have one less table to worry about. read more

Went here because of reviews. The location on the river is interesting but the interior is very plain. We arrived for a late Saturday lunch and the restaurant was ICE COLD inside (we retrieved jackets from the car). Our food was good -- probably 4 star -- burger and fries; blt and slaw. The server was very sweet. But the plain decor and frigid temp cause them to lose a star. There is also a bar next door/adjacent and it looked like you could order food there too. read more

Daaaaaaayum! Ok it's not La Cirque, but considering you're in a small town this is a damn fine place to eat. Yes the interior isn't "fancy" but there's a cozy dark bar if you want to stay there and there's an outdoor patio with a great view of the Missouri River and (if you time it right) a terrific sunset. The staff was remarkably friendly and helpful, even though we had some special requests that I won't go into so everyone doesn't ask. :) The wife had the New York strip and it was well-cooked and tasty (there's a chance I tried it). I had the cranberry-brie burger and it was absolutely delicious, with excellent quality beef and a medium-thick patty that appeared to be hand-made. Our seven-year-old had what he said were the best chicken strips ever, moist inside and crispy on the outside. He also loved the smoked mac-and-cheese so much he suggested we move from Austin, TX to Chamberlain, SD just to be closer to this restaurant. All in all a very good dinner and a new-ish restaurant that promises to improve with time. read more

Fan-flippin-tastic! This place is a diamond in the rough and super close off the interstate. Excellent food. We had the Mule Burger and Pulled Pork sandwiches, and both were excellent. All the staff were super friendly. The restaurant side has great river views and the bar side is kind of a typical local bar with some nice view windows overlooking the marina. They also have an outside patio area. I don't think I'd change anything. Keep being awesome! Definitely worth a detour off the interstate for lunch or dinner read more

LEGIT GOOD! Place was packed on a Saturday night, but my son and I were seated right away. Service was great even though there were many large group tables already sat. I was worried there would be a backup of orders, but the wait was reasonable and we'll worth it. We ordered the Nashville-Hot Chicken Sandwich and Brisket Burger. Both were spot on, great flavor, and did not disappoint. But the trophy goes to the baked beans! Best baked beans I've ever eaten. I highly recommend this place, the cook definitely knows what's up!
