I have three dogs and I've boarded them here twice. The first time was just for a weekend and it worked out great. They let me go back and check out the kennels and see the exercise area. When I left I felt comfortable leaving them and everything turned out fine, Then I boarded them for a 10 days over Christmas. When I picked them up, all three of them were terribly skinny and covered with loose hair. That made me wonder what happen. Then when I fed them the first time, my polite and well mannered dogs were gone. They lunged at the food and ate like they hadn't been fed in weeks. I decided to take them to the vet and I discovered that they also had contracted hookworm! Its taken the entire month of January to get them back to their proper weights, get them dewormed and make it so they are no longer worried about where their next meal is coming from. I don't know what happened the 10 days I was gone, but I won't be leaving them at this location for that length of time again. read more

I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a boarder!!! There website states that the fee for boarding a large dog is $20 a night. My husband and I just moved to the area and have boarded our dogs with several different businesses in several cities. We made plans to stay in Galveston for the night so we decided to try out the Snooty Poodle and see how it went. While dropping our two large dogs off at 8:00 am on Saturday we arranged a pick up time for 8:00pm on Sunday since we had furniture to move earlier in the day on Sunday. At that time no comment was made other than okay that sounds great. I looked at the facilities and didn't think much of them but decided I'd try their services and see how it went. My husband and I went away for the night enjoyed our trip and our day and returned to pick up our dogs Sunday night at 8:00 pm. I was busy in the kitchen so my husband went to pick our dogs up from the kennel. When he returned his first words to me were that we were never boarding our dogs there again. We expected a $40 charge for both dogs and were instead charged $80 since they were boarded for 36 hours. This information is not disclosed on their website nor was it disclosed to me on the phone when I schedule the booking or when I actually confirmed the pick up times with the owner in person! I have never had this experience in the past with any kennel or dog sitter I have ever used! She simply told my husband that this was standard practice. If this information had been disclosed maybe we could have made arrangements to return earlier and retrieve our dogs or she could have offered us a pro-rated amount since she made the mistake. After this bit of bad news we discovered one of our dogs leashes had clearly been left in/near his kennel and had been chewed and broken in half. Her excuse was that it had only been there for a minute and then she turned around and it was chewed up. This is a strong rope leash that clearly took hours to chew in half and no offer was made to replace or compensate us for the damage. The final straw was when my husband walked the dogs outside. They were supposed to have been just taken out to but when my husband walked them outside they both peed nearly a gallon each!! Needless to say my first experience has been awful and we will NEVER use their services again. If you care for your sanity and your pets you will heed my advice and go elsewhere! read more

We have used this kennel two times in the past two years. The first time was okay although I noticed that my dog came back with the top of his nose rubbed raw. The second time we boarded two of our dogs for three days. Both dogs returned with raw noses in the same spot, like they had been rubbing it against their kennel begging to be let out. The younger dog came home COVERED in fleas and had loose stools. Our older dog was extremely clingy and his temperament just seemed "off." We have used other kennels in town and never had these problems with our dogs' behavior when we returned nor have our dogs returned with any self inflected wounds. I will never bring my dogs back to this kennel. read more

This is my go-to groomer when I'm in the Lake Jackson area visiting. I have a Standard Poodle and he needs grooming a lot. Finding a good place is always such a challenge, especially for someone like me, who travels a lot across the country with my dog. When I found out Snooty Poodle was under new ownership, I decided to give them a try and I'm glad I did. It's convenient when I'm visiting my folks in Lake Jackson to be able to take my dog in for a nice grooming. My dog is always clean, fresh, and well-groomed. More importantly, he's always really happy when I pick him up, which is always a good sign, and he shows a great affection for the staff there. They're also very quick at getting him in and out. I can drop him off first-thing in the morning and he'll be done by noon or so. Most places are "in by 9, out by 5" sorts of outfits. Here they seem to want them in and out as quickly as possible and I like that speed and efficiency. My results from this place were mixed under the original owner, who I liked, but the changes here since the ownership changed have been for the better and I'm pleased with the new folks here. The quality is great, the facility is great, and the prices are competitive. read more

I have a purebreed shih tzu and needed to get her groomed all the other places have horrible reviews or I found out first hand how bad they were. I was a little nervous taking my little Stella here at first, when I got there the staff was very polite and welcomed both stella and I with warm welcomes. I let them know what I liked and didnt like before I left and when I went to get her she looked amazing! They did exactly what I liked and took great care of my baby. I am very pleased with the results and will be returning there with all of my dog grooming needs. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. I just picked up both my dogs from the groomers. For one thing I had to CALL THEM to see if they were ready since it was around 2 o'clock and I dropped them off at EIGHT AM!! So 6 hours later and they still aren't ready. She says they're ready but tried to call and called the wrong number? Well I have been going there for at least a year now and they have always had the right phone number so I don't know how all of a sudden they didn't. When I got there I could hear the lady in the back screaming at the dogs to be quiet.... The girl giving my dogs to me was calling my dog Willow (who is a boy) Bella... so they don't even know the correct names of my dogs that have been going there for a year. And they both had green bandanas on like they are both boys and the other dog is a girl. I noticed right away driving home I had blood all over my hands and I found the source it was willows front paw and they cut it really bad. I also noticed he was limping on one of his back legs and he was not whenever I dropped him off.... I called and explained how upset I was and all they said was sorry you can bring him back and we can look at it... look at it? Can I not do that myself? What is the point?? If I made a huge mistake on someone's dog for one I would have told them. She said she didn't notice and blamed it on Willow... well that makes it even worse that you didn't notice and are trying to blame it on a dog? He's also the sweetest and calmest dog I have ever known he's a maltipoo and VERY well tempered. He never barks or whines or bites he just wants to cuddle all day. When I got home there was blood all over the floor from him walking around and I had to try and make a bandage for him which he took right off. I just can't believe they wouldn't be overly apologetic or offer money back it's insane you can hurt someone's baby and not feel bad about it when that's your profession. I will NOT be back to that groomer and it's sad because I have had horrible experiences with dog groomers in the past I thought I finally had one I could trust with my babies but if I were you I would NOT bring your dogs to people like this!! read more

I had heard good things about this groomer so I decided to try it out. I made the appointment and took my jack Russell mix in. When I walked in there was someone standing at the counter on their phone and they looked at me and then back down to the phone never saying a word. I stood there for about 2 minutes before she sighed and asked 'did you need something?' I told her that I had an appointment and she said ok. She took my dog back and she said it would be about an hour. I left and in about 2 hours I called and checked on him and they said 'it's not even close to his turn we will call you' and hung up. Finally 6 hours later I picked up max and paid. I got him home and he was very down and wasn't walking normal I then noticed that they had shaved his whiskers completely off and upon closed inspection I saw several bald spots on him and one place where he was even bleeding because they nicked him with the clippers. I will never go back and tell everyone I know to stay away. My dog wasn't the same for weeks. read more
