Take the Hypnobirthing course! We learned so much as a couple. We went into the hospital prepared to talk with midwives, doctors and nurses. We knew what to expect based on everything Nina taught. We used the hypnobirthing techniques for the time that I labored. I ended having a very necessary c-section due to unexpected complications. This course even prepared me for that situation and the complications. My husband was able to assist me through hypnobirthing techniques through the contractions I was experiencing for 14 hours. The course is heteronormative with the assumption that pregnant people are in strong relationships. That worked for us but may not be comfortable for every pregnant person. read more

If I could give Nina a million stars I would!!!!! I can't put into words how much she means to us but I'll try!! My husband and I hired Nina for the Hypnobirthing class that she provides, we ended up doing a private class at our home that Nina came to once a week. The private class was awesome, it feels very personal and you get that extra one on one connection with Nina and you get a chance to focus on your specific needs with her. We loved how she taught the class, you can tell that she truly loves what she does, she radiates love and happiness in the best way ever! My husband and I felt very confident with the hypnobirthing class and felt that Nina taught us a variety of different techniques to be able to go through labor in the way that we envisioned. Hands down I will be using Nina again for baby number 2!!!! We also ended up hiring Nina to be our birth doula. The best decision I made for my pregnancy!!! She was beyond amazing the entire time, so much positivity about natural birth and gave me the strength and confidence to feel that I could do it! I loved our doula sessions and liked that she included my husband through the whole process so he felt very involved and ready to be by my side through labor. Throughout labor she was one of my main focuses besides my husband, she used all her techniques to help keep me calm and focused in labor and I truly could not have done it without her and my husband!! We also decided to use Nina to do my placenta encapsulation, it was pretty easy since she was at my birth she took the placenta right away and was at my house within two days to drop the pills off and check in on me. She went through the directions with the pills and let me know what I might feel while taking them and what to do if I started feeling different. She truly was there for us so much through my pregnancy and I am so glad that we decided to use her services. I can't say enough lovely things about Nina's class! We had such an incredibly special, bonding and binding experience and one which I know will stay with us throughout the rest of this pregnancy, the birth of our baby and beyond. This review has been a long time coming. I wish I would have written it sooner but with a 4 month old at home, it has been a little difficult to find the time. That being said, I am happy that I'm finally getting to do this! First of all, Nina is simply amazing. She truly cares and it shows not only in her teaching style but in the support she offers during and after you've taken the course. I cannot tell you how many times she's checked in on us or has helped me find resources for a question or obstacle I've encountered postpartum. She truly is a wealth of information and loves what she does for it transpires in her follow-up and dedication. She's also very kind, understanding, and I cannot tell you how much needed support I have felt coming from her as a new mom. As for the course itself... Now I know some people can feel skeptical just reading the title but let me tell you, this class teaches expecting parents so much more than how to approach your upcoming birth. It prepara hoy to handle different aspects of your pregnancy/birth. It's really educational as well and you walk out not only feeling knowledgeable but more prepared for your birth. Now every birth is different as every pregnancy is different and truly it's hard to prepare for something that can be unpredictable. But this course teaches you tools on how to be able to handle what comes your way. Being pregnant for the first time, I cannot tell you how many frightening horror stories came our way from everyone around us. Everyone means well but there's just so much fear around pregnancy and birth that it is easy to get caught up in that fear. I for one found it very helpful to learn how to calm those nerves and be more confident in my birthing power. My husband and I did a hypnobirthing course with Nina and we loved it! It is easy to feel overwhelmed, especially towards the end of the pregnancy and the class helped ease the doubts we had and made us feel excited about the birth of our baby (due in just a couple of weeks) rather than nervous. I don't think there are enough ways to express my gratitude to Nina for what she has done for my family. Not only did Nina move her class to a location closer for us, she let my 7 year old daughter join in and answered her questions about birth in a way a child could understand so that she too could play a role in our birthing experience. The hypnobirthing classes themselves were informative and did wonders to calm my fears about birthing naturally as a vbac. Nina has a way of teaching that just makes everything easy to understand and practice at home. On top of the lessons, she adds in essential oils to try and recipes to help with pregnancy, birth, and lactation. Our class ended right in time for me to go into labor the next day! I felt prepared, and honestly feel these classes were how I labored so quickly and with minimal pain. Firstly, we birthed at Del Mar Birth Center, which was absolutely fantastic. That said, since we knew originally that we were gonna be at Del Mar, which we knew to be absolutely fantastic, we weren't sure if we needed a doula, much less one of Nina's caliber. We decided to enlist her services just in case, and let me just say this: we probably would've ended up in the hospital if Nina wasn't there. We labored for 53 hours, and she was with us every step of the way before, during, and after. Even if you are not planning to do natural birth I would still recommend hiring someone like Nina to teach you hypnobirthing because trust me you would still use it in cesarean cases.. This was my first pregnancy, I knew I wanted to do natural and I was looking for a special birthing technic that worked for me. When we found Nina my husband and I were thrilled. We did private sessions in the comfort of our own home which made us feel very relaxed and in-tuned in what we were trying to accomplish. Nina was so accommodating with our busy schedule and came to us even on weekends. Unfortunately my labor didn't go as planned and I was forced to do a c-section. During any labor your body goes through a state of shock, where you completely loose control. I am so grateful to have had my husband by my side who was doing all the techniques which Nina taught him. He was able to use her knowledge and bring my body to the state of relaxation so I could have an easier birth. My birthing experience wouldn't be the same if not for Nina. As a first time mom, I was a bit overwhelmed about how to approach my pregnancy... doula, midwife, doctor, cedars, UCLA, birth center and so on.... I decided to go with midwives at the hospital, in hopes of having an intervention free birth without needing a doula. Nina's class was the perfect compliment to this plan. My husband was fully up to speed after the class, and I was confident going to the hospital with my husband as my support person. Most importantly, we succeeded in delivering our daughter without any meds / intervention. The counting techniques that Nina taught us worked great for us, and we progressed naturally with a great sense of control. After delivery we had immediate skin to skin, the breast crawl, and went home after only one night in the hospital. This was exactly what we wanted, and are grateful to Nina and the class to help us get there. Nina is a gem! We feel so lucky to have found her hypnobirthing class. The relaxation techniques we learned and the new perspective we gained along the way have really prepared us for this journey into parenthood. Whenever I experience any sort of discomfort or pain (whether it's from leg cramps at 2 am or Braxton Hicks contractions in the middle of the day), I still hear Nina's voice in my head telling me to "inhale deeply and exhale completely." Instantly, my whole body relaxes and I'm able to breathe through it. Nina's Hypnobirthing class is the very best use of time and money to prepare for the birth of your baby. As a second time mom, I wanted to take the class to help with techniques to prepare and equip me and my husband to have a natural birth. I had the same intention with the birth of our first son but without the invaluable techniques, my mind and body tensed and were counterproductive to creating the opening that our baby need to flow freely. After taking the class with Nina and realizing that our female bodies are designed to do this, we had the baby completely naturally in the hospital after dancing to my favorite music, dimming the lights, placing candles and connecting to my husband between and during each wave. I literally danced the baby down. We got to the hospital at 12 midnight and he was born just before 3 am. I feel so fulfilled because I accomplished a completely natural birth. I progressed so fast that the doctor and the nurse practically weren't prepared when I HAD to push!!!! It was a beautiful birthday for all of us. It honestly was better than I imagined. We did have the baby in a hospital but it felt like our birth on our terms. Nina's advice on making our birthdays our own is the best advice! What a magical experience! My husband and I agreed to have a hospital birth before the baby was even a twinkle in her daddies eye but I was still looking for a way to have a connected and calm birthing experience. Going into these hypnobirthing classes, i had a lot of anxiety about the day i would go into labor. i would lay awake at night thinking of all the things that could go wrong & my husband had fears of what his role would be in the delivery room. Nina's hypnobirthing class prepared me for way more than I was expecting. In preparation for my baby's birth at DMBC I chose to take hypnobirthing. While I did not have the natural birth I was planning for, hypnobirthing ended up being the most helpful tool in what ended up being the complete opposite scenario of my birth plan. At week 36 I had an emergency c-section after being diagnosed with HELP Syndrome. The entire time I was being prepped for surgery I managed to keep my cool by using the techniques I learned throughout Nina's course. I was able to keep so calm that out of concern one of the doctors put his hand on my shoulder and asked if I was ok. Before I could answer the nurse that had been with me since the moment I was admitted, turned to the doctor and said, "yes she's fine, she is meditating, she is trained in hypnobirthing." Every time I think of this moment, it reminds that while I wasn't able to have the natural birth I wanted so bad, Nina's class gave me the skill set to ensure that my little girl's birth was still my own. I recently experienced the wonderful, warm, calm, fearless, totally drug-free, somewhat painless and relaxed home birth of my daughter. I took Nina's Hypnobirthing class to achieve the exact birth I imagined. Thank goodness for this class. I read the Hypnobirthing book, which was a great start to alleviating fear, but the class really helped me put the principals of breath, visualization and self-hypnosis into action. It also helped my partner/best friend understand her role in the birth and helped bond us even deeper as friends. Nina is vastly knowledgable on the subject of birth, especially on how to stay relaxed throughout. She gave me and my partner tips on how to work through every issue that might arise as far as pain and fear goes. She's also energetic, loving and beautiful on the inside (and out). My husband and I met Nina during our Hypnobirthing class at DelMar birth center - which was awesome and so highly recommended not just for birth but life! You can apply many of the tools for everyday situations and challenges. Nina is such an incredible person, she surprised us by being super knowledgable, empathetic, confident, easy-going, thorough, spiritual, warm and fun at the same time, she is just such a beautiful woman inside out! She has the unique talent to bring across serious and intimate topics as very normal and human...so she completely removes and fear or shame (which is so important for both partners during birth)! Starting the class, we didn't have a doula yet and were still undecided if we needed one, but after the second class we were absolutley sure that in the bigger scheme of things, Nina was brought to us at the right time. I want to point out that my husband, who is not into yoga etc and who I had to drag to any classes in the beginning, was so comfortable with her that he even suggested it (in hindsight, I believe a doula is also super great for supporting the husband during birth which makes everyone calmer)! So after class, we asked her if she would still have an opening as a doula for us - thank god she did!! From there on it was just a breeze, I had only 3 more weeks to go and we met every week. She was so helpful in working on what was important to me during my birth and what to think of in advance. Also, she had the best tipps for me, eg chiropractor, acupuncture, additional supplements etc! On the day(s) of, my birth was actually much longer and harder than anticipated as I had back labour from contraction or "wave" one. I could not have done it without her support! Nina was an absolute gem during the birth of our son. My wife and I had done extensive preparation and planning for a vaginal birth free of medication using hypnosis... but the universe had other plans. My wife was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 38 weeks and had to be induced immediately. What followed was 72 hours of every medical intervention possible, ending a a C-Section. But now we are at home and everyone is doing great!! Nina was such a calming presence for us both throughout a very stressful time; there in person when we needed her to be, and supporting from afar when she wasn't at the hospital. She made us realise that we hadn't wasted our time with the preparations for a natural birth, and that all good things come from overcoming a challenge. She did massage and aromatherapy on my wife throughout the process and provided positive reinforcement when hurdles came up. Nina is simply wonderful! My husband and I did a private hypnobirthing class with her leading up to my labor and I'm so happy we did. We learned a ton and it was just a special time for us bond as we prepared for our son's arrival. And when it came time for labor we were more than prepared. We implemented so much of what Nina taught us and I really did have an incredibly positive birth experience! It was long but with Nina's techniques I know I handled it so much better than I would have if I hadn't taken her course. My husband also turned out to be an EXCELLENT doula and I know having Nina's techniques helped him help me when I needed him most. I would recommend Nina to anyone! Nina is magic. Her hypnobirthing classes were so immensely helpful in allowing my husband and I to have the birth we wanted. We employed so many of the methods Nina taught us in class in order to have our baby girl naturally - with as little discomfort surrounded by peace and positivity. We feel forever indebted to her! The class had only 7 couples which was the perfect amount for being able to listen and learn from each other, share in laughs, as well as work through our pregnancy journeys together. My husband loved the class saying that it allowed him to be an active birth partner in the process and support me in labor so the pressure wasn't just on me. You can enter into the class knowing zilch about childbirth and come out having a real grip on the birth process, as well as post partum. We also had Nina do placenta encapsulation for us which has been immensely helpful as well during our post partum journey. If I could give Nina a million stars I would. We will never forget her kindness, knowledge, and warmth that made our birth story such a positive one. read more
