Johnny B's Roadhouse Saloon So I haven't reviewed in a bit…read more I guess nothing worthy of my review but I have to praise Johnny B's Roadhouse. My husband has been wanting to come and try their updated menu. I couldn't be more impressed. I started with their specials drink "Peach on the beach" Malibu coconut rum mixed with peach nectar and tropical mango juice and a rim filled with Tajín. Oh my super yummy. My husband started with a braised Rip Tácito appetizer. I expected him to have 2 maybe 3 and was pleasantly surprised with the 5 that came out. They were amazing! Perfectly marinated meat with caramelized onions and cheese. It was perfectly wrapped in a flour wrap and perfectly grilled. It came with a delicious dip and garnished with tomatoes and jalapeños. I can't rave enough about these! For his main course, he had the mild boneless buffalo tenders. My husband said they cooked them perfectly for him. Just the right amount of sauce and chicken tenderness. I had the Rasta Pasta. Grilled teriyaki chicken with pasta in a yummy cream sauce. My starter was a Caesar salad that was mixed nicely for me. (I don't like when they serve the dressing on the side) We were stuffed and had to take our main meals to go after a couple of bites. Stop and try their food, I don't believe it will disappoint.

Johnny B's has quickly becoming a lunch go-to. The boneless Carolina Gold always hits, burgers are…read morereally good too! Huge portions, great prices, crispy fries, and the blue cheese is my favorite... Service is quick and friendly, the space has a bar vibe but a great dining room with a nice fireplace. Looks like they have a big patio too.

I made it back for trivia night! We had an AWESOME time!…read more The two bartenders were so attentive and friendly for the entirety of the night, we were never in need of anything. The mule is definitely my favorite drink here, it's been made perfectly each time I had it. We had a big group, so we ordered a variety of bar bites and I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of all the food. Especially the garlic bread, wow!!! It was piping hot, fresh and fluffy and just perfect. The host for trivia did a fantastic job and created a super fun event for us. The questions were general-knowledge enough that mostly anyone could have participated. Somehow our team won and the prizes were so fun!! More people need to know about this place!!

Went to Spelunkers back on March 22 to check out some live music that they had that night. Good…read morelive music in Southington is hard to come by in the area. I used to go down the street, but the music selection there changed. For those of you frequent to Southington, Spelunkers took over the old Dial 9 speakeasy location. It's a competitive food area and I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that for being marketed as strictly a dive bar, Spelunkers hit all the marks and some. It also was surprisingly large inside compared to what it looked like from the outside (Which was great because some of the other bars nearby are cramped). Their burgers were good and my friends felt the same way about the food that they ordered as wll. They have ample seating (and a variety of it) as well as a pool table and some arcade games to do while listening to music. Prices for drinks were also fair. The interaction that I had with staff, although brief was very friendly. The band they had that night was excellent. Glad I came to see them. They played an eclectic mix of both genres and decades. They were energetic, their song choice were great and they were refreshing to see compared to the typical Southington fare. If they come back to Spelunkers, I'll free my schedule up to come and see. Been watching the socials . Happy to have a fun bar experience again around here and look forward to my next trip.
