This is our local go to when we are too lazy to cook our own dinner. Choices range from great appetizers, sandwiches, and wraps, burgers to full meals.

I've been here many times in last few months and enjoyed every visit. Place has steady business and good crowd. Daily specials are usually good comfort foods. Wait staff works hard to provide fun atmosphere. They can be very busy at times. Love the meat loaf dinner. Ribs look very good as well. Big bay menu Ample parking. Take out available. Outside dining

This is a bar / restaurant we come to often. They renovated during covid. The space used to be much more bar than restaurant. Since the renovation they have made it more family-friendly restaurant style. They have all types of food here from bar style bites to full steak dinners. Everything I've had has always been good. I'm a fan of the nachos, burgers and flatbreads. They also have a full bar and wide variety of beers and drink specials. And prices are very reasonable, lower than most other restaurants we go to. The staff is always very attentive and makes sure our meals are all as we requested. On weekend nights, sometimes you can find some good local bands and acoustic Duos playing here also. Along with all the sporting events on the many TVs surrounding the dining area The only reason I didn't not give five stars is, since the renovation they did away with all of the high top bar style tables and made the bar smaller. So when we want to go just hang out with friends we prefer standing around a high top table then sitting down in a booth or low table.

Country-fried steak w loaded mashed potatoes. Delicious!

It has been years since I had set foot in Johnny B's. Johnny B's and I have a long history spanning decades. In my drinking days, it was one of my go to dive bars. However, in recent years, Johnny B's has undergone a transformation that has turned it into a destination local eatery. It's been hard for me to separate the two because of my history with this establishment. But this week, I cannot deny it any longer. Johnny B's is legit as a solid local eatery. Met one of my best friends recently for lunch. Started out with the sausage and broccoli rabe appetizer. Very, very good. Sautéed sausage, broccoli rabe, and potatoes in a savory sauce. Really enjoyed this dish. For my entree, had the country-fried steak with sausage gravy, sautéed vegetables, and loaded mashed potatoes. If I have to be honest, one of the better country fried steaks I have had. Perfectly cooked med-rare steak that was crisp and not overly greasy. Country gravy was fantastic and a perfect compliment to the steak. The loaded mashed potatoes were unexpectedly good. Have to give Johnny B's credit where credit is due. While it still commands a dive bar vibe, the food is anything but. Really solid meal, clean establishment, and great service. Look forward to coming back to dive deeper into the menu.

Nachos with fried chicken! Yum!!! Huge!!

The place has had a makeover. It still has that dive bar feel, but the food is still wonderful! Raw oysters, Heathers Secret Sauce wings, the fried calamari with Gorgonzola cheese sauce (on the side) is amazing, burgers on and order the chicken nachos with fried instead of grilled chicken so yummy! The rib eye sandwich is good as well as the turkey club sandwich.

Im so damned embarrassed for them…read more& Ive gotta say i dont see how this place is ever going to make it if they keep on focusing on construction upgrades which they are constantly in the process of doing. looks not content. my dad who is my foodie buddy had loved this place since it opened. weve been regulars. i woildve taken him ANYWHERE in Ct to make him happy for this milestone birthday gone completely sideways. if i had asked them & told them i would pay them to take their heads out of their asses, it would not have happened. because they simply dont get it. i am hoping that this poor beautiful server who had the misfortune of me as a customer & no backup from ANYONE, most especially the bartender who was serving her ONE customer & talking about nails, will move on to a place shere she will learn something. seriously. this poor girl. my dad was one of the first customers here, & he's very loyal to businesses & responds to good service which we did have when they first opened. the ONE guy that was good at his job w a personality has not been seen in quite awhile, so ive gotta believe he's moved onto bigger & better things. our entrance up the front stairs shouldve been a glimpse 0f what was to come, & this is the clientele they are are appealing to with their HSN fake IVY covered fences. our entrance up the stairs and throughout the dining experience was met w a million cameltoes & fat laden tatooed muffintops hanging over belts & waistlines. sorry but i cant even stomache that over a backyard family barbeque. CLIENTELLE. they are not tippers. why would ANYONE want to work here? an entire table next to us jumped up like there was an AR 15 in tow because of a BUG ON THE WINDOW. we were ready to duck & roll. we waited and waited and waited on simple things. water. chips for the quac. the things that were listed on the menu that they didnt have. loke the things that bring people in: like the "homemade" pudding they didnt have. like the ham croquettes app they didnt have. we ordered the fire cheese app. the person who delivered it tried lighting it & it wouldnt light & they never came back to ignite it & the server who was waiting on us didnt know because teamwork & managerial leadership was nonexistant. no prescence of ANY manager or any one in charge. that bartender was a disaster. the two espresso martinis tasted like old coffee water w a shot of Baileys. awful. they shouldve paid us to be there. when a bartender has ONE customer & theyre talking sbout nails & their servers are depending on them for the entireity of the meal service these servers are screwed. i hope the servers wake up & go somewhere where theyll learn something like Brass City Cafe on Hamilton Ave to get a good meal & great service. so few places left in Waterbury. you wont see this clientelle @ Brass City or Diorios. theyd hide them away. no matter how much home improvement they do & ill admit great potential here. but i give it 8-10 months. not to mention the miserable experience they gave to one of their very first loyal customers who had a milestone 90th birthday. i cant tell you you how many times weve made resv's here explaining the event . & they act like its a damn surprise when we show up. awful. just awful. and hopeless. never again. felt bad for my daughter who was paying for it & my dad who just wanted to enjoy his 90th birthday at a place he once loved.

My sons and I are in search for hidden wing gems throughout the state. Yes, we love J.Tim's,…read moreappreciate the local flair of O-Joe's (both locations), and even admire the smoked wings in an around Torrington. Someone gave me the tip to try these as he thought they would "compete" with the aforementioned. For the first 5 min of my visit, I thought it might be the case. Here are the reasons to ABSOLUTELY GO!!!!! Even if a 30-45 min drive. 1) SERVICE - simply fantastic. Huge thanks to Destiny and the kitchen for making my experience great. 2) ATMOSPHERE - THIS IS the place I want to come to watch the games, for the long haul in the fall or playoff time! Great lighting. Music gives way to the game. Locals. Golf and bowling games. You name it. Fantastic. 3) THEIR BLUE CHEESE - unique. Delicious. Clearly house made. Makes the wing experience better. Here are the reasons I would only go if convenient: 1) THE FOOD - My chili to start only said beef chili on the menu. On first bite, there was a stinging salty taste of BACON. I have no problem eating bacon, but should say it on the menu for those who do not. And, that flavor profile is not what chili evokes. 2) THE WINGS - when the blue cheese and veggies came out, I was almost hyperventilating with excitement. The wings then came. Huge let down. Without going into the subtleties of the sauces, I'm more focused on deciding if they were frozen-pre-breaded wings or fresh wings with a salty/shake and bake coating on them. They're huge. They're crispy (kitchen is good). They're just not a traditional wing (should also say coated on the menu). 3) THEIR OIL - one of my wings was a delicious lemon pepper dry rub. So much promise. So crispy. Then, the flavor transfer hit. They must have fried fish on the menu. Same/old fry oil So my wings without a sauce (dry rub) tasted faintly of fried cod. Gross. I will go back. I liked the staff and feel enough. It could be fun. But it's not the hidden wing Mecca I will continue to search for. Service, feel, blue cheese earn all the stars.

She kept conversation going, was quick with the drinks and made sure we got our food order right before the kitchen closed. I came in not knowing the wings are on sale, so I opted in for the garlic Parmesan and the Nashville hot dry rub. These wings are definitely on my top 5 places to go for wings! They were full of meat, flavor and were very crispy! We also got the strawberry limeade which came with sour patch strawberries. I will definitely come back as the vibes were chill and the service was great

We started with drink and appetizers we had the squash flower stuffed and lightly battled with sauce absolutely delicious and the carpaccio also very good. The portions were huge and desserts very good as well. A bit pricey but very good. Are waiter was so friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend this place . It's very busy so I would recommend making a reservation. They have happy hour specials and I believe it's Monday night ladies night . The atmosphere was very pleasant dim lights and plenty of seating. Our main dishes were salmon , a seafood pasta also had the braised short rib over papadell and orecciatta with sausage and broccoli Rabe , scallops wrapped in bacon and gnocchi. OLIVE GARDEN WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER CHOICE!!! This place…read moreat first glance has the ambiance of a funeral home...not one bit of an Italian look or feel at all. The tables are very crowded together. THE BATHROOMS ARE DIRTY, NO TOILET PAPER OR PAPER TOWELS IN THE LADIES ROOM AND STUFF ALL OVER THE FLOOR IN THE MEN'S ROOM. NOW FOR THE FOOD!! Veal Milanese, not too bad but not a hint of lemon, not even a wedge on the plate. For $32 Shrimp and crab special, FIRST...NO FLAVOR WHAT SO EVER!!! Totally under cooked pasta, (I am Italiano, I know Al Dente) totally WAY OVER COOKED SHRIMP and some tuna fish type crab meat you had to dig for to get on the fork. JUST AN ALL AROUND TERRIBLE DISH. For $38 Then, after expressing to the staff and talking to the owner about a dish we ate a few bites because it was so horrible, it was ignored by them and we had to pay for a $40 dish that was SHIT. SHE, the owner who honestly looked more like a poorly dress hostess, had the nerve to come back to our table, put her hand on my girls shoulder with a, "are you alright" comment rather than EVER ASKING if there was anything she could do to correct this culinary disaster. THIS PLACE ISN'T EVEN WORTH THE TWO STARS I HAVE GIVEN IT. It was very difficult to understand the mostly Spanish based staff.... if that doesn't scream Italian I don't know what does...However the deserts were not bad but almost certainly come in a box on a truck and not made in house. BOTTOM LINE IS, THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT ITALIAN DINING EXPERIENCES IN CONNECTICUT...DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS PLACE LIKE I DID.
