I really liked dining on The Spoke & Bird's patio. The outdoor space is huge and is dog-friendly, so I had a great time catching up with my friend and our dogs. They even have an entire dog menu with treats like beef patties and pup cups. They have QR codes to order at the tables, but ours didn't work, so we had to track down a server. The menu is expansive, but stuff sells out quickly. Our server was nice, but a few things in our order were wrong. She never came back to the table though, so we just went with it. I really enjoyed their seasonal coconut lime overnight oats. I wasn't sure what to think about lime in my oatmeal, but it was delicious! I had ordered a London Fog, but ended up with an iced latte. It wasn't what I ordered, but I still thought it was good. Overall, I'd come back here again since I appreciate that it is dog friendly. read more

Stopped by before Morgan Wallen. We were staying close by at a hotel and saw Spoke and bird. Sat outside on a beautiful Friday night. We ordered at the stand which is alongside the indoor building. Very friendly service all around. You get a number when you order and can sit down anywhere. Complimentary water was nice too. Went with the smashburger and side salad. By the time we sat down our food was ready. Patties were juicy and crisp. Great cheese and onions too. Salad was also a nice refresher. All in all, a great base to start the night. read more

I am a returning customer at Spoke & Bird, and it has honestly become one of my favorite weekend rituals. I order delivery from them almost every weekend and they never disappoint Their specialty lattes are consistently excellent -- creative, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. You can really taste the quality of the espresso and the care that goes into each drink. I also have to mention their vegan blueberry muffin. Was in the area for a conference and made the easy walk here a couple of times from the Marriott Marquis. Excellent lattes, and I had the breakfast BLT one morning and the yogurt/granola another. The BLT was good though I missed it was on Texas Toast (not my fave) but that's on me, it was clear on the menu. I ate it like an open face, and it was yummy. The yogurt and granola was so good, I would go back for that alone! The patio is so nice, plenty of seating in a nice shady area. Service is efficient. Ordering was a bit of a nuisance as you had to scan a QR code and order on the app. Was excited to try the grits bowl as that is what was touted in the overview of the place. Several minutes later, someone came out and said they were out of grits. On a Sunday morning at 10AM. Your main dish option and you ran out? Wife and I both order the traditional breakfast plate. Eggs were bland. Bacon was burnt. Toast was dry and the jam was tasteless. Had ordered coffees and it came way after our meals only after we had to go find someone to check for us. I want to love this place. It's steps from my new home. We went there on the first day to grab a cup of coffee. NBD. Easy enough. The patio wasn't open yet/set up. We ordered at the cart and our coffee was brought out to us. We returned the following day after our final walk-through of our new home. The process took some time and dragged through the lunch hour. By the time we were done it was about 130. We decided to head over for a drink and a bite. We placed our order arIund 1:50pm and the cashier kindly stated full transparency that there was likely a 20 minute wait for food AND drinks (for reference, we ordered beers, grilled cheese & soup, and a burger). Bet! 20 minutes is not unreasonable at all. Easy day.. We sat down on the patio. The day was gorgeous. People were out enjoying the weather and the beautiful trees. I noticed the food runners were bringing one thing out at a time. One drink, one plate, one utensil (even for tables with more than one guest). We sat and sat and sat as one by one, items slowly trickled out of the kitchen. By 30 minutes I was concerned but by 45 I was done. Not even drinks (beer) after waiting 45 minutes?!!? I returned my number to a staff member and politely stated that we never recieved drinks or food. They asked if I wanted to wait- the food was almost done. Politely, I declined..I said we had already been waiting for 45 minutes and couldn't wait any longer. Another staff member came out and asked the same. They offered to pack it to go, but we had meeting to attend and food wouldn't be appropriate. The first staff member said to give them a second; they went back into the kitchen, came back out and asked if I wanted a refund. I didnt expect it, but at almost $70 for a meal we didn't have, it was a nice gesture and I accepted. However, after reviewing my statement I was only refunded approximatelt $30 + change. It's unfortunate because the place seems really nice. The large open, shaded patio with the beautiful trees. The cafe with plenty of seating/work space, and the staff all seem really nice, too. We are basically going to be neighbors. I gave more stars than I wanted to because i'm confident thay my future experiences at The Spoke & Bird will redeem this one. I'm looking forward to giving it a try again soon. read more

Recently visited on a beautiful fall day and had such a nice experience. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I decided to try the pumpkin latte -- it was really flavorful and perfectly balanced. The person taking my order was super friendly and patient, which I appreciated as a coffee noob! I also ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham, egg, cheese, and aioli. The bun was impressively soft, and the eggs were cooked just right -- fluffy and flavorful. The only thing I'd change is the amount of aioli; there was a bit too much for my taste, but it didn't take away from how good the sandwich was overall. The atmosphere was great -- a scenic, relaxing spot where people were hanging out with their dogs and enjoying the weather. Definitely worth a visit! read more

This place was a surprise. You order when you enter at the kiosk/cart. Then you find seating and they will bring out your order. There's a seating area off to the side on the right when you enter. Seating was difficult to find on a Wednesday morning around 10am, seemed like a lot of the people that found seating were working from their computers while enjoying coffee or breakfast. We did find a small table and chairs for two in the entrance/lobby area. I enjoyed the seasonal grits bowl!! It was pretty incredible! The grits were actually cooked perfectly which I sometimes find hard to come by. It came with seasonal roasted vegetables - mine were mushrooms and broccoli/broccolini florets, it was so satisfying and I don't usually enjoy breakfast food!! It comes with one egg on top which you can choose how you'd like it cooked. I opted for sunny side up which I feel was a good choice so that I could mix the runny yolk into the grits. My partner had the classic breakfast and was very happy with it. He loves breakfast places and said this was cooked to perfection and exactly what he was craving. I had the bonfire martini cocktail. It does not come in a martini glass which I was happy about. It has a good flavor of coffee, has espresso in it, and has a slight taste of salty ness. It's really good and not overwhelming or super boozy. Seems like the perfect amount. read more

Very high quality breakfast and unique seasonal coffee flavors! My friend introduced me to Spoke and Bird as her favorite coffee shop and I can understand why. The food and coffee are delicious, service is efficient, and it has a huge outdoor patio situated next to a public park. I had the Breakfast BLT sandwich and it was perfectly salted and so flavorful. It had a ton of crispy bacon cut in bite sized strips, and over easy egg (perfect salt level), some greens, and a nice balance of mayo or some other sauce. The brioche was fluffy and crispy, and the ratio of bread to the contents of the sandwich gave the perfect breakfast mouthful with each bite! I ate it so fast! It also came with a side, and I chose the salad. It was good but some of the greens were past its prime. I also ordered the cinnamon plum matcha latte and it was tasty! What a fun hot drink to have on a chilly day. I also liked that you can use a QR code to order it to the patio, and they will come out with your food. Servers were friendly and efficient. The patio itself was very cute and had tons of seating. One of the staff were even decorating the Christmas tree outside! After we ate we had a nice stroll at the park next to the cafe. Excellent garden eatery and coffee. Visited Chicago last week and met my daughter and her colleagues here for a late lunch. They weee headed later that day to nearby McCormick conference center for Unreal Fest '26. We ordered and ate outside at a large table. Ambiance was cozy and food was yummy, and coffee and specialty lemonades were absolutely delicious. We were six people total so we had a large order, plus I couldn't decide on drinks so I ordered three for myself! I tried ordering from the table via the QR Code but had technical difficulties. The lovely and welcoming owner didn't hesitate to borrow my phone while she sat and took only two minutes to recreate the order in her system. All the food and drinks arrived surprisingly quickly. A nice local spot to stop for a drink. They have both indoor and outdoors seating. We opted to get out of the elements after a 4 hr walk and sit inside. The peppermint tea came quickly and was piping hot. The bathrooms were plentiful and very clean. I recommend this place for a snack or a drink. A great place to rest your weary feet. read more

Only things they have is cold oats Spoke and Bird caters to Vegans and Farm to Table prices you are alienating half of your clientele in my option. We will pay the higher prices for Gluten Free! In mid-September, we met friends here for a nice outdoor lunch in the South Loop area. Just east of their storefront there's a spacious patio with lots of tables and umbrellas. They have indoor seating, too. Outdoors, you order at a little kiosk, and they bring the food to the tables. We had several local beers and crafted cocktails. Mine was a well-made whiskey drink off their changing menu. We enjoyed a large fresh salad, a tasty chicken wrap, a juicy smash-burger, and a thick and satisfying tomato soup with a grilled cheese. When the weather is nice, the vibe on the patio cannot be beat. Staff are friendly and quality is ok but often sold out of things. However, both the menu prices and wait times have increased dramatically since I moved into the area 6 years ago. Can take 20+ minutes for drinks, 40+ minutes for food, and even longer during rush hours. Nice if you have the time for a leisurely break to sit outside, but has stopped being a regular part of our neighborhood rotation and dog walks. read more

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite co-working spaces - perfect for work from home folks looking for a change of scenery. Order at the register when you walk in and find a seat in the adjacent room. The order is brought to you. S&B shares a building with 2 children's spaces. There will be noise, but I've found it's not especially invasive (noting that I mostly work with headphones, though). Occasionally a parent/child duo will join and the noise will increase slightly, yet not unbearably. There's plenty of outdoor seating for warmer weather. I haven't tried the food yet, but they have several food options that I look forward to trying. read more

Came here to chill a bit and unfortunately the patio wasn't open since it was winter. I tried to find a space inside the cafe because there were a lot more windows but it was pretty full so I settled in the lobby which was pretty dark. Anyway, at least they had free wifi. I got some kind of holiday specialty drink with cinnamon and it was okay. They used acidic coffee beans which is not my favorite and it was slightly watered down. They have food for breakfast too so that might be where it's at. read more

Nice ambiance , I really wante to give them a 1 star but can't for those reasons ...that fact that it takes 20 mins for a single mediocre latte EVERY TIME I GO HERE is crazy . I have been 4 times and with enough time in between to forget how long it takes and the first couple of times I thought it was busy but the last couple of times it was practically empty.
