I have been going to Perry sports for years. They focus on fishing and boats mostly, but they have a good selection of weapons and ammo. I mainly go for the reloading, but since Covid, their reloading selection has dropped to half of what it used to be. The staff is always friendly and try to help if they can. read more

My husband purchased an item last minute because the items I ordered online were delayed. He went here 1st and they didn't have his size but he bought what they had just in case. He then went to Broken Arrow and purchased a few other items. The difference in customer service between the two was night and day. Here, he was talked down to, had to ask for assistance and was overall not welcome. At Broken Arrow, he was greeted with excellent customer service and assistance to help him get the remainder of the items he needed for his hunt. The item I originally ordered arrived the next day. So he took the item purchased from the Sports Center (new with tags), and the receipt to return. He even offered to accept store credit because he knew he could use other items from the store, and had hoped his first experience was a fluke. While making the exchange, the owner came up, asked what was going on (keep in mind, up until this point, this was a routine transaction in which neither my husband nor the clerk had reacted in any way to say otherwise.) My husband explained what he was doing and why, and was told "that's not a good reason for a return." I didn't know you needed a reason with a receipt. My husband again explained he was fine accepting store credit, but didn't need this item, and it was store policy to accept the return. (Also returned within 2 weeks of purchase.) The old man asked him what he was supposed to do with this when hunting season was almost over. He got loud and rude talking to my husband as if he was beneath him. Because he could feel himself getting angry, and wasn't going to cause a scene, my husband told the owner "Nevermind" and took his receipt and item and started to leave. He told the man he would be posting the item for free online and ensuring that he shared with our friends and neighbors how he was treated by The Sports Center vs Broken Arrow and that he would never be back. The owner then rudely responded "fine, I'll give you your money." The $170 means a lot more to the owner than to us. We left with the items in hand and will give them away. But we will share our experience of bad business and poor customer service on every outlet possible. There are other places with better quality items, in a cleaner store with MUCH better customer service than here. read more

Ordered a Browning with a 22lr type ammo as a young man. Being small in stature my father had ordered me a Jr model, fine for my age. Sold or lost it over time and as a man I got an itch for another one. Bought it and was all excited to do some plinking. Took it out of the box, and that's when I realized the gun had shrunk significantly. With the stock butt nestled nicely in my armpit, my trigger finger was tickling the end of the barrel where the projectile exited the barrel! ' Nope ' back it went. They were nice enough to straighten the problem out with the proper gun and I was back in business at the range. read more

Horrible experience here. I drove 2.5 hours there and back (5 total) for a trailer I had already had a down payment on. The listing I called about was a dual axle and when I showed up and paid in full, they pulled a single axle out. I believe one of the workers name was Larry, he was pretty nice and seemed happy to help me. When I asked why they pulled out a single axle, Charles came out. Charles told me that I was "trying to scam him" and refused to sell me the correct trailer I had a down payment on. He was in the wrong and couldn't swallow his pride and admit to his mistake so he just verbally attacked me. He called me a liar, cheater, and a scammer. He didn't help me get my money back so Larry had to. I hope it is just processing. All in all, horrible experience and I hope this place loses more than one customer after this. Been going here for years and even more during this bs pandemic to support our local business. Only issue I ever had was just recently bought a new zebco reel, top of the line $100.00. Had a problem with the line snapping at the bell. Well turns out there's a little grommet supposed to be there and it's missing on mine. Figured I bought it from Sport Center they'd swap it out for me. WRONG. They wouldn't do nothing so I have to go thru Zebco and return it. Should've went to Academy I guess. That was the worst experience at a sporting goods store I have ever had due to the very rude clerk. He acted like it was a burden to ring up our purchase. I told him afterwards that he wasn't very friendly and he just turned and walked off. We told another employee about our experience and was told he knew exactly who we were talking about. When asked why he was allowed to work there, we were told they did not know. We will never go back and will tell our friends not to go there. Many were not wearing masks either. read more

I have bought 3 boats from The Sports Center, I've been happy every time. I like their laid back atmosphere and I never felt a high pressure salesman breathing down my back. The Sports Center let's you enjoy yourself looking at their large selection of boats and accessories, hunting and fishing supplies too. I see other reviews and some are negative, and so I feel if anyone feels displeased it must be because they didn't give the Sports Center a chance to make things right. read more

Huge warehouse showroom that is loaded with outdoor goods for hunting, fishing, boating, etc.. Lots of boats on display in the store and even more boats next door in the boat showroom. Prices are pretty good, service is good on boats, pretty poor on guns, not sure why but salesmen seemed to spend time talking with people they seemed to know and not on trying to sell me a gun. read more

I purchased a New 2019 Club Car electric golf cart on 5/23/2020. Within 2 weeks the cart would lose power within 25 minutes of driving. We took the cart back to Sports Center on 6/10/20 to be looked at since it came with a 12 month manufacturers warranty. On 6/15/20 we were told by the Sports Center mechanic there was no issue and we only needed to add water to our batteries. We picked up our cart on 6/16/20. It is now 7/6/20 and our golf cart is not holding a charge and is additionally jumping like a transmission would in a car and will barely make it 5 cars lengths. When I called Sports Center today to speak with someone and I got Charles. Apparently Charles isn't a very helpful person. I called to ask how I can contact Club Car to discuss the issue and get a claim filed and was told by Charles that he didn't know. I asked how they sell a piece of equipment with a warranty but can't give me any information on how to contact Club Car's warranty department. Charles told be me I would just have to bring the cart back to Sports Center for the mechanic to look at again. I advised Charles that I wasn't going to just keep bring the cart back and forth every few weeks to someone who didn't fix the issue after having it 6 days. I asked to speak with someone in management to find out what the protocol is for an issue like I'm having after a total of 6 weeks of ownership. Charles basically told me it was my problem that I bought a golf cart from a dealer 45 minutes from my house and that I would need to bring it back to be looked at again. He was so incredibly rude and not at all concerned about any of my questions. My issue with this is that I left my cart with these people for 6 days and for 6 days they only hooked it to a charger to drain the battery and tell me nothing was wrong. Now you want me to bring it back to the same mechanic and you are not be able to tell me how to contact Club Car. Charles went so far as to tell me that they were helping me out by looking at my Golf Cart for free since they had to pay the mechanic. He even said it's just like when you buy a Ford or Chevy and it has problems you have to take it back to the dealership. No kidding Charles but they would typically really look into the issue and fix the problem. I feel like I've wasted $6288 for a piece of equipment from a very crappy business. I can for sure say that I would never recommend this place to anyone especially if you plan to get any type of customer service help for a bad product. I now have a call in to Club Car (which I tracked down through google and a lot of prompts and a very helpful lady at Club Car) to find out where else I can take my cart for an actual repair. Mike's Golf's Cart in Perry is an authorized Club Car dealer recommended by Club Car on their website so it looks like that's where I'm going. I guess it is my fault for not looking into the business ethics of Sports Center before I purchased my cart. I really hope this issue is resolved soon and I can actually use my cart to take my kids back and forth to the pool. read more

First of all I would like to say I like the hometown feel of the Sports Center but I do think they need a little updating. The place looks a little dated and it would be helpful if the sales people would wear some type of uniform or a shirt with a logo of the business so you know who they are. Come on even when you go to Walmart their employees stand out. This would be very helpful in itself! read more

Absolutely could not buy a boat from this place! I've never seen a salesman that didn't want to sell something! I drove 4 hours with pre-approval from my bank. but they insisted that I use their financing and pay money down. When I finally caved, they wouldn't approve the loan!! My credit score is 900+ so there was no reason to refuse my business... Happily took my business elsewhere and found a better boat for less money anyway, so I should really thank them... read more
