So I moved to AZ in April. I've been looking for the right barber since. I hadn't cut my hair in a while and I figured it was time. I looked at a lot of reviews and I eventually came across this shop. After looking at reviews and pictures, I knew I had to give it a shot. I got a cut with big Mike and let me tell you, he got me right. I told him what I wanted and he did the rest. His dad, owner, was also cutting and getting down too. I just got my haircut right now from the spot barber shop with Mike and Alex. I kind of took offense to the other guy Paul s is response saying Alex was racist. I'm half Hispanic and half black and when I go there they treat me like royalty ..it's maybe they just don't like dumb ugly people who can't be helped ..that's just my opinion !!! just to let everybody know the spot Barber shop-- Alex and Mike are the best barbers around period!!! I walked into this place for the first time looking for a haircut and was approached by the barber / owner I'm assuming and asked me if I had called for 3 appointment I then said no and I vent asked him do I need to make an appointment and he said no but with covid-19 on it's best to call ahead so that people aren't just waiting around as he stated he has covid restrictions on how many people can be in his Barber Shop. Let me Begin by saying this that I totally understand and respect the rules. From a place of business but the way this gentleman came off was very off-putting and rude to say the least you need to work on how he approaches people that are looking for a haircut and spend money in his business especially in these trying times. I was a fan of this place, but the last few times I have gone I have felt that Mike was rushing to finish my cut in order to get to the next client (seemed like his friends based off their conversations). Today, I went in for a scheduled appointment which was made a day in advance but when I got there Mike seemed to be just starting on someone. I waited over 30 min but had to leave to get back to work. Every 5 min the guy getting his haircut was asking for more and Mike accommodated him. I understand that I'm not the only client and that sometimes work gets busy but when I call and ask to come in early and they tell me to come in late yet still can't follow through then that showed me that I'm not important. They lost a client, sucks for both of us because Mike is a talented barber. read more

I was visiting my family in this area and found this shop on yelp. Wow talk about a great place. The owner was hella cool and inviting, the place was a true barber shop feel. Everyone was cool and they even offer you water. I'm from Cali and I will say if this shop was back home it be my new shop. My barber Martin crushed my hair had me looking nice when I left. The overall experience was amazing. I left the house thinking I would get An average cut while I was In town but I was wrong. Stop by this place I promise you won't be disappointed. Dropped by The Spot on a random weekday afternoon because the boyfriend needed a haircut quite badly. There was no wait or line at the time so he was able to sit down for a cut as soon as we got in. His haircut was swift, clean, and great! He didn't ask for anything complicated, just a simple short style, but hey, I have seen people butcher that before. On top of that they are very personable, caring, and enjoy having good conversations while you're getting trimmed up. I'm self conscious when it comes to getting a haircut and don't like people experimenting on my hair so finding a good barber is a must. First off, as a Mother to a little boy, I always thought it would be cute to take him to the barber shop with the big boys and get his hair done. Let me stop there- it was a nightmare. A barber shop has no place for women lol even though the men there were all so kind to me as I played my sons alphabet game on my phone with him. Let's skip past the part where he was given a lollipop to help him stop crying. We can also skip the part where a customer actually left because my son's screaming gave him a headache. We can skip the part where my son eventually had everyone outside.. but let's not forget how many times the barber had to stop and go back to cutting my sons hair or how I had to sit with him, hold him pouting to finish the cut, or having to take off his cape thing AND play Spongebob in the shop to distract him. I was humiliated but they all worked through it with me. I kept apologizing and they were understanding like no other. My son has the most amazing and clean cut (SOMEHOW). Big Mike is the best!!! I went in for a "clean up" as I needed to look good for an event in a couple of days. Mike knew just what to do and gave me a really tight fade and he did another awesome job! He's patient, methodical, confident and knows what he is doing. It is too bad I don't live in the area as I would come here permanently!
