I toured the place and learned of it's history, which is pretty interesting. The place was built during the Great Depression as part of the National Youth Administration. Over 300 TWU students participated in its building and creation, even making the stained glass windows that adorn this architectural piece. It was named one of Texas' most outstanding architectural achievements. Ironically it was even designed by a Denton resident who is also a nationally recognized architect, O'Neil Ford. Now you ready for the coolest face? This place was dedicated and opened on November 1, 1939 by none other than First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, right here in Denton, Texas!

The staff is wonderful to work with and Kylie in particular was terrific at answering questions and helping things stay organized the day of our ceremony. We would recommend this venue to anyone.

this place writes about how quaint and beautiful it is. it even post info about all they have to…read moreoffer like when it was a bed and breakfast. it is now only a very rundown farm . the place is not kept up. some of the grass was cut, but tall weeds were everywhere. The little pond seen in their ad, actually has a layer of scum on it. I saw a fish laying on top of the scum flopping and soon after died. probably because it couldn't get enough oxygen. the alpacas there were in a very run down pen area. there is a long 6 ft ta wooden wall in the pen area that leaning badly . it is ready to fall and is propped up with steel t post used for farm fences. They have a livestock guardian dog in the pen with the alpa's pen that does not look healthy. the entrance to the place has a dilapidated sign that is ready to fall dow. they give you a code for the entry gate. Probably because they don't want to ever meet any of their guest. They also give a code to the cabin. again so they don't have to meet you , they just want your money. The cabin was not bad, but the AC didn't work well. There were bugs in the grassy area and I was bitten many times. Run, don't walk. away as fast as you can . Their nice looking ad makes it look like a wonder place to stay. Believe me. It is not.

I wanted something fun for the 6 year old. It was perfect. We booked a stay in an air conditioned covered wagon. There were animals all around; so my son got a five dollar feed bucket and visited a good many animals. The wagon beds were great, came with a/c, a lantern and a tv. They are also linked to an rv resort with a pool just across the road so we spent the afternoon there. It was a great way to spend the night. I would have loved to try the food but we were a bit late to the game and had to leave out too early My only caveat, while I appreciate the in person welcome, my brain cannot process the explanation of the whole book. You need an abbreviated version for parents. I literally forgot half of what we were told before she was finished. They.have lodging, a restaurant, a spa, and animal encounters as well, I can only speak for our one night though. 1 recommendation- bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper, dogs, peacocks and roosters aren't known for quiet. I slept fine with ear plugs in though.

The steak was so tender and the risotto was delish. The dairy free options were great. The room was amazing, if not a little on the warm side for us. We wanted to play putt putt and this place in the middle of nowhere appeared while we were testing our new RV life at a RV park in the area. Walking from the parking lot up to the barn was a tree filled magical journey. Once arriving at the old barn, we saw string lights gracing the property. It was so pretty. We weren't sure where to go and went to the barn window. The girl assisting us could have provided more info. She asked us if it was our first time there and we informed her that it was. That ended further feedback from her. We paid for putt putt, played the two fun 9-hole courses, but noticed WHEN WE WERE DRIVING AWAY, they had corn hole. We paid $6 per per person entrance fee but didn't experience everything they had to offer. Also, the putting greens were full of leaves. Being only opened Fri-Sun, a leaf blower to the putt putt course on Friday would have been awesome. We visited on Friday at 7pm. We appreciated the options for beer and cocktails. The livestock in the surrounding properties was so cool to see. (We saw that they are someday trying to do a movie watching experience....sounds amazing)

Absolutely beautiful setting for a rustic/ farmhouse wedding…read more I am not a Texas native so I don't know the history of surrounding towns, but as an ADOS couple, we were casually told by other wedding patrons to be clear of the town by sundown, which is extremely alarming. However, I will stick to reviewing the property. Its a sprawling compund with a decidedly rustic feel. Because we were there for a wedding at a particular venue we didnt see how big the area was, but I did see another structure across the way from us that appeared to be another chapel + venue. There was a lake by us rimmed by willow trees (my favorite tree) which was absolutely beautiful. If you're looking for an idyllic, rustic farmhouse glam look for your event, and you don't need to flee at sunset, this may be your venue.

The staff definitely go out of the way to make it a fun time and make sure that you are enjoying yourself. If you have any problems you can go to them and they instantly handle it for you. The field itself is well taken care of and unlike other outdoor fields they actually take care of the grounds and your not running around in an overgrown field. There is a Pro Shop on site that has an assortment of things that you may need if you forgot something and everyone in the cabin and the Pro shop were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend going here.
