Horrible experience the noise is never addressed maintenance has to catch the other resident making noise. Thin walls, you can hear other people walk in there apartment. You can hear residents water running, dishwasher and garbage disposal, and noises in the kitchen. you hear their television playing. It is currently the middle of the summer and our air conditioning has gone out. I have called the maintenance office at The Springs - Novi, but they do not feel that inoperative AC is an emergency. It is 88 degrees inside the apartment, and our dog is panting about to be heat exhausted; we cannot live here another day. It has been 4 hot and sunny days without AC. The office says they only have the ability to handle 2-3 repairs per day, based on the "10 units reported". It is not live-able, and Edward Rose does NOT care about their residents. read more

I moved in a few days ago , very happy thus far! The office staff Olivia , Sandra, Jessica, have been more than helpful. I have a very cute apartment, nice view of the pond! I have new carpet, new countertops, new full size washer and dryer.I am on the second floor and the noise isn't too horrible, some noise is to be expected. I am happy I chose the springs. read more

This may be one of the more affordable apartment complexes in the area, but it is not one I will ever choose to live again. Maintenance comes unscheduled, walks right in, without knocking... The water is well, but free. My neighbors were pretty loud late a night and with kids, it was annoying and inconvenient. Not to mention the smell of cannabis. Management has been unprofessional in my opinion, a woman on a power trip it would seem. I suppose when the actual management company owns so many properties, their credibility declines over time. After reading the previous reviews, it should be mentioned that the reviewer "Quila H." is the manager for the Springs. Now that is some really great self promotion. read more

We lived at the springs for 2 years, the only good part was the pond view. We always paid rent on time, and have no kids or pets. The building always stunk like curry or like pot. First, maintenance barges in whenever they want without warning. However, when you need them, they dont show up. They painted the doors on the exterior of the apartments and while doing so, they broke our doorknob and deadbolt and left us without any functioning way to shut the door for a whole night. Second, the front office staff is rude and hardly responsive to any questions or issues. They give no notice for maintenance work, and were towing cars on people without proper warning. Their outside crews are lude and unprofessional, with screaming matches against each other at all times of day, and even accross parking lots. When we gave notice to leave, they failed to send our rental history to our new apartment and lost paperwork with our SS numbers on them, and then sent us a bill a month after moving out WITH ONLY 2 WEEKS TO PAY IT that took our full security deposit PLUS $400 in obscene charges claiming damage to carpet and missing mailbox keys. They also added a day to our pro rated rent for our move out month for no apparent reason and upcharge us for it, even though we left 3 days earlier than the end of the lease. Jennifer from collections is horribly rude and unhelpful. Would NEVER recommend living here to anyone, for the hassle they have caused us, it was NOT worth it. read more

I lived here for 6 months and never had any issues. Of course I heard my neighbors on occasion; this is to be expected, but everyone was respectful of one another and noise was never an issue. Maintenance was prompt when I had an issue with my fridge, and they provided sufficient warning of any future preventative maintenance. The snow removal this winter was sufficient (parking lots and sidewalks). If residents had moved their cars like requested in the distributed flyer, it would have been flawless, but this is not the fault of The Springs. Every interaction I had with the office staff was pleasant. The managers, Qulia and Lisa, were always extremely helpful and very professional. Mike worked with me through the move-in process and it went very smoothly. My apartment had a great view and vaulted ceilings. The amenities were also great, washer/dryer and dishwasher. The pond view from my third story balcony was a nice perk. I never had an issue parking in front of my building, but sometimes I would have to take an additional 20 steps across the parking lot. I recommend The Springs to friends, family, and respectful renters. If you don't think you should have to pay your rent or respect your neighbors and surroundings, don't bother moving in, you wont like it and your neighbors won't like you. read more

I have been here 9days and I want out of my lease. The apartment is cute. Grounds are kept up, and there are nice views; however I have called and emailed 3 times To ask for help with the neighbor right next to me. He's up all hours playing video game loud; like he's at an outdoor event loud. The Tv is just as loud. I will staying somewhere else temporarily until this is sorted out. I should have listened to the reviews.EDIT I've had to call the police and the leasing office has done nothing. Would not recommend! Took them over half the month to finally fix our leaking roof that turned into a waterfall in our bedroom, ruining our room and putting us on the couch to sleep. Before anyone even came to look at it I called maintenance numerous times and finally had to go into the office and ask for a manager. I had to initiate communication to receive compensation for only being able to live and sleep in our living room for half the month. Not to mention they did an awful job cleaning our carpet after they had to cut a hole in our ceiling and mud, sand, and paint. There was paint all over the carpet and dust all over our furniture from when they were sanding. Didn't even think to cover anything up so they left it to us to deal with. While living in this apartment for 14 months, we've never been late with a payment. However, after the wheels from our car were stolen twice (!) during one month span, my family approached the leasing office to move out 30 days prior to the end of the lease, we were treated disrespectfully. The manager said they can't do anything about it. After taking it up with her supervisor, we worked out a deal that worked for both parties. However, when I wanted to follow up on that, the manager informed me that they're doing something completely different, and we will be responsible for 21 days' payment, even though, we're planning to move out on the 1st of the month, and it only takes 10-15 days to clean and prepare the apartment for the next people to move in. In addition, she was extremely rude and condescending, refused to wait until I find a pen to write down her supervisor's number, yelled at me and hung up. After I called back to receive the number, another employee lied to me, saying that her manager isn't at the office. When I told her that I have just spoken to her manager, she came up with another lie, saying that there's a caller infront of me. To sum up, if you want terrible service, untimely maintanence, rude employees who yell "I don't care" over the phone, and a high possibility to have your car robbed - consider Springs. If not, you're better off finding a new place. P.S.: all of that for 855$ a month and a headache of an overly complicated application process. read more

I lived here for 2 quiet and uneventful years. While the office was courteous during our stay, the exit process was surprisingly unjust. My roommate and I were quiet and studious and owned a single black short-haired cat that never clawed and barely shed. We paid the extra monthly pet fee and everything. When we scheduled to leave, they deducted $800 from our security deposit "for new carpet." There was absolutely nothing wrong with our barely trodden, still-looking-like-new carpet. When we asked about the surprisingly large deduction and the reason for new carpeting, they said lamely, well, you had a pet. Even though the cat had caused no damage and we could prove it with photos, we felt the office used our pet as an excuse to foot us with an unnecessary bill and possibly pocket the money. The deposit is only supposed to be for extraordinary damage or filth, not normal wear and tear and not for general pet dander. We were very disappointed in the way this was handled and would NOT recommend renting from here. read more

It was pricey, but with the in-unit washer&dryer, cathedral ceilings, porch and water amenities; I learned to live with the price. I was so sad to leave these apartments UNTIL... I opened my envelope expecting over $400 back from my security deposit. Here I stood looking blankly at a 2 page paper outlined in EXPENSES, and am amount of $160 that I OWE The Springs!!!! I have paid $855 for 12 months, paid $45 carpet cleaning fee BEFORE moving in, and I OWE them money?!!? I read over each individual expense that was on this letter and every single one, besides ONE; was incorrect! They charged me for having to "peel stickers off the walls", "painting a room" (when my Dad and Brother went in there to paint it "FLAT WHITE PRIMER" as Lisa from the leasing office told me specifically;), "stains throughout apartment" "repairing holes" "broken washer agitator". SO UNBELIEVABLE! THEN they go and accuse me for having a pet in my apartment when I NEVER owned one and making me pay $350 for a "violation of a pet policy" ! Stating there were litter and food throughout the apartment?! From the looks of it, they were mistaken about which apartment they were reviewing!! My gosh, I treated that apartment like I OWNED it. There was "normal" wear and tear on the apartment after living there for a year, we are very clean, neat people - so to be accused of all these different fees is absolutely ridiculous! Do NOT live here unless you are going to live like the "Step-ford Wives" and tip toe around your living space! So disappointed!! :( I did call the corporate office to address these issues, and here I am, made out to feel like I'm in the wrong; and it's my word versus theirs - so unfair! I'm out $450 and their out future residents due to my review of their apartment complex! read more

Worst management I have ever experienced. Everyone from the leasing agents to the people at the corporate office are all rude and inept. They don't want to come do maintenance when I ask, but other times pop right in without any regard for my privacy, and do nothing at all to fix the issues. I had to go all the way to the regional manager's boss to get them to look at my air conditioning, they finally changed it but it took a lot more than it needed and I had to suffer through many hot days without it working properly before they looked at it. I can't wait for my lease to be up to get out of there! I will not give them the pleasure of paying a penalty for breaking the lease but whenever an issue arises, I now know how to get it fixed. read more

I lived at the Springs for 5 years. As noted the staff is as phony and unprofessional can be. When I moved out I was hit with a $225.00 bill. At first they said it was water Then the story changed to yellow on the walls, (of course there was no yellow) then the story changed again referring to damages. There was no damages. When confronted Ms. Hyman manager did you do the walk thru, the answer of course was no! They just padded the bill. I found Ms Hyman and the springs greedy beyond words and kept catching Ms. Hyman in one lie after other lie. People be aware on first impression they may appear nice, but once they got your deposit. You can be rest assure Ms. Hyman will try to cheat you which ever way they can. read more

This is the worst place I have ever lived. The office staff is unprofessional. They do not follow through on repairs, or concerns. The maintenance staff is unskilled. The ponds are filled with scum. The geese are loud and annoying. The garbage was always filled because it is only emptied once a week. Don't be fooled by the pictures. The staff is really nice when you go into to visit, but it will change when you sign your lease. I am current resident here but I will be breaking my lease VERY SOON! Do you want to pay $1,000 for an apartment with bugs?? Move here!! The apartments have a bad case of roaches. Over the last 4 weeks there has been multiple residents reporting that roaches and bed begs have been seen in their units. They have a 2 star family operated exterminator company come in once a week to exterminate the units and to resolve the issue, but somehow the roaches aren't completely gone! BS! Nasty nasty nasty. Also they NEVER remove the carpet in the units they just "clean" it throughly and you can still find spots in the carpet! They units are very outdated and applicances usually break down easily. Maintenance will be in and out of your apartment fixing things or correcting "emergency water issues" when really they are just adding chemicals to their polluted wail water. (THEY DONT HAVE CITY WATER) Their ponds are filthy and hardly ever get cleaned. The Staff is rude and hardly know anything, you will get the run around from them about anything you ask. And the property manager has a very nasty attitude. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! I saved myself and you should to! read more
