I moved away from this place 2 years ago after living there for 2 years! I had a American bully who was a certified EMS dog, with valid papers and ID proof that she legally can stay with us for no pet charge fee! This place "ended their relationship" with us and made sure not to say why, when we know it was only because of our dog! Mind you, I've seen huskies and American Akitas living in the neighborhood as well! The only damage that we left was ripped carpet by the laundry room door and could've wiped the counters down better! We also left a small couch because we could not get it back down the stairs. They proceeded to charge us a ridiculous amount of $7,000 into collections for the "damage" without any pictures of proof! Do not move here! read more

There is a serious problem with marijuana in this apartment complex. I sent them a lot of emails complaining about it for almost a year, I also called westlake emergency line and they never do anything. These people smoke at 2-5 am almost every day and I can't sleep, I get nauseous and they don't care, they only want their money and that's it. Update: After going to the leasing office and complaining, it keeps happening randomly during the day and night. They really don't care and the ones smoking are some disgusting people not caring about anyone else but themselves. read more

I have actually liked living here for the most part but where ever they got there maintenance people from lately they should give them back. They are rude. Whoever was on call on 11/17/2021 was the worst. He kept telling me he was woken up out of bed to do his job. Maybe he needs another one. The office also likes to complain about obsolete things like a bag of toys that's on my patio that they thought was trash. The front office will lie about what what actually happens such as maintenance coming by and dropping paperwork off and we have cameras in front and back of our house. The walls and floors are thin. The neighbors upstairs make so much noise and they can be heard almost breathing. Overall I would say, go elsewhere unless you want to pay 1300 dollars in rent for the inconvenience of living. read more

This is by far one of the worst experiences of living I've ever been in, the power has shut off numerous times, the water had a chemical leakage or something and we were left with nothing in the worst possible times for days at a time. Management illegally entered our apartment after we told him no and called the police because of it and it was dealt with but now they aren't allowing us to renew our lease. Our cupboards have fallen apart, our sinks in every bathroom have leaks and to make it worse, our stove has had two gas leaks. I had better experiences living at a $700 a month apartment and less issues there than I did here paying $1400 a month. I could care less personally how nice a place is and this place makes it look like they're nice and clean but ​it is the opposite. read more

Stunning property, absolutely loved the area, full sized washer & dryer a huge plus. Plenty of space and reasonably priced! However, our leasing consultant Lindsey is very fast and rushed everything. Speaking over the phone she gave tons of information but extremely fast not giving a break to ask any questions. We both walked up half an hour early and she was ready to go. Way ahead of both of us to the apartment, we were trying to catch up to her, went inside, very fast, not much to say, and out the door within 4 minutes of opening the door. When we got back to the office she pretty much rushed us out the door and we felt very unwelcome. Aside from her, the property is very lovely and I hope we can move in. The staff, in the Apartments, has been GREAT!!! they are so caring, attentive, and loving. I lived in Westlake Apartments for more than 2yrs. I love love love the leasing staff as they were always pleasant and readily available to help resolve any issues I had. My problem is not with the leasing office, it's with the corporate office. Thankfully, Tiffany and Linzie try their best and are 100% of the time always able to handle problems so I never felt I had to call up the chain; however, the move out process, the end of the line is completely out of their control and that is where the problems begin. During my time at Westlake I transferred apartments once and now moved out, both instances Edward Rose has made my transition difficult, not receiving paper work on time and not following through. The leasing office will gladly take your calls and try their best to resolve the issue, but again it's only so much they can do once you've moved out. The people at the corporate level takes no responsibility for anything and they bounce everything back to the leasing office as if Tiffany, Linzie and the rest of the staff don't have enough to do already? As if they're not selling the units that keep the people in the corporate office employed? Linzie has stopped eating lunch to assist me, she goes ABOVE and BEYOND! She's friendly, professional and makes you feel like a valued resident. I relocated to Texas for work, Linzie made sure to ask where exactly I was moving to see if the company had any sister properties in my area. When I met with Tiffany and Linzie regarding breaking my lease they made me aware of all my options and informed me of the best route to take, I never once felt blindsided. I had to move in less than two months and they did everything they could to make my transition as smooth as possible. After all the leg work the people in the office do to shine the best light on the property, corporate goes behind them and fail at their job and find a way to pass the buck. Here's the bottom line: I absolutely love these apartments. The design of them are nice and my neighbors were very friendly. The apartments are conveniently located next to almost EVERYTHING! Heat is included and my DTE has never been outrageous, the highest bill being about $85 in the hottest months when my air conditioning was running all day. I recommend these apartments. If you can afford to spend the extra cash I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Your stay at Westlake will be amazing, the staff insures that it will be. I can't speak for all Edward Rose properties, but Westlake is one of the best. The units are clean, the appliances are upgraded, and the landscape is beautiful and kept up. The few times I had to call the maintenance team after hours they were there within minutes and happy to assist as if it's 2pm instead of 2am; the maintenance team is amazing. The property manager and her staff are super personable and even with the many people they see each day Linzie and Tiffany DO NOT forget a face, you will feel like you're a part of a community at Westlake. The apartments are a little more expensive than some other places, but for what you get it's worth it. Above all else the staff really does make this place what it is, my hope is that the higher ups will recognize that and stop passing the blame!!! The corporate office and their lack of professionalism does not taint the hard work the staff at Westlake has done in my mind. Westlake is one of the best places I've ever lived and I will recommend them to whomever is looking in the area, but corporate should do better or let Tiffany and Linzie run that part of the business too. I've lived in Westlake apartments for 2 and a half years and I've honestly never had an issue up until recently. Almost two weeks without a washer is not acceptable, they say 5 to 7 business days (going on day 8 now) called a few times for any updates and the only thing ive been told is they're waiting on a call back from the company from the day before, other than that most of the staff is great when you have to make calls into the office. read more

I have been in search for an apartment for quite some time now. I happened to drive by Westlake and noticed how nice the apartments seemed, and quickly pulled in. As you drive through the community, you are quick to notice how kept up the apartments and the grounds. When I walked into the office, I was approached by a young lady named Lindsey. She greeted me with a smile, an open ear to all my complaints of the other apartments I've seen, and even laughed at my lame jokes. She was very informative about the properties, what Westlake had to offer, and was not pushy about trying to get me to sign a lease as many apartments are. I would give them 0 stars if i could, i lived 2 months without air conditioning and they gave me a brand new air conditioner THE DAY before i moved out ( btw it took them one day to get a new air conditioner and put it in). While i was living with no air conditoner they would not supply me with a fan or anything. The manager also made a very rude comment to me about who I had in my apartment, AND maintenance went thru my bedroom when they were supposed to be fixing my sliding glass door in the living room. When i moved out because of the air conditioner they tried to charge me for the next month, needless to say I fought them on that and won. This establishment has a very beautiful property and I was referred to them by their sister property Southport. However I am a bit skeptical because one of the leasing consultants Lindsey was not so friendly over the phone when I called, she seemed to be rushing our conversation & I could sense some annoyance in her voice when I was asking questions. I would just like to point out that the first interaction you have with someone is usually over the phone so you should try to be friendlier towards the consumer. Whoever is managing the company please have a talk with your employees about making interested buyers feel more comfortable and like their actually interested in helping them select a new home. Reasonable rate. However, it's like you have roommates as you can literally make out your neighbors every move and sounds. Neighbor has a cough I hear it! Neighbor talking on the phone I can hear it! Neighbor having sex...ewe I can hear it! Neighbor takes a shower...yup I can hear that too! I think you get my point. Also, my apartment has a smell that I really can't tolerate. My refrigerator had black stuff all over it, called maintenance they said it was dirt not mold-oh yes, that's so much better for my refrigerator to have black dirt all over it. There's no recycling program/opportunity and unfortunately to throw out your trash you have to pack it up like youre going on a fieldtrip and drive it to the trash compactor. In the summer the bugs pretty much run the place...along with the geese poop. My washer/dryer has been broken more than it's been fixed and the water settles red(wtf?) I do have to say that management tries to make the property inviting to be here. With events during the holiday, breakfast on the curb etc. It's just so much "duck tape" you can put on an old property. I'm seriously ready to go. read more
