This bar is one of the worst bars I've ever been into, the "regulars" treat outsiders like they aren't wanted giving dirty looks as we walked in, they enforced some stupid "backwards hat rule" that was the cherry on top of a terrible experience. Wow! What a difference makes with new ownership. Had a blast hanging out, was extremely busy and they did amazing job keeping the atmosphere fun and no one had to wait long on a drink. Staff was kind and attentive. Exeter has a fun little social area now with food trucks, restaurants and taverns, loving it. read more

I went to the stag and was shown disrespect by the owners wife and I will NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN they are rude and unprofessional and I highly recommend cellar door or Visalia brewing company in Visalia instead not too far but wonderful service opposed to the stag read more

Been coming here since I first turned 21. The bartenders are some of the coolest, friendliest people you will ever hope to meet, especially the always sweet, Shannon. The drinks are well made, and cheaper than the bigger bars in Visalia, plus it's one of the few bars that doesn't charge a cover on the weekends. The atmosphere is casual, and the patrons are friendly and fun as well. Drop in, play a game of pool, or shuffleboard. Also pitchers of bud light is only $5 Mon-Wed. Thursday's and Sunday's they have karaoke, and Friday and Saturday nights they have a band. read more

There were three people behind the bar. One was working, one was checking Facebook on his phone and the other was just standing there. Looking at the people standing around waiting to get a drink. The bartender finally got to me, but instead skipped to a guy she knew and too his order. I eventually was served a pitcher of beer with about 2 inches of foam on top. Cool bar with shuffleboard, pool and Touchtunes. Very reasonable prices ($2 small draft, $4 well)... Very locals oriented but not unwelcoming. Fun bands as well. Strict dress code: -no backwards ball caps -no hoodies I wouldn't call it a travelers bar by any means but if you live in the area and get along well with Cowboys, ranchers and Exeterians you will have a fine time. read more

Asss jerks.... kick us out before it was 2am. Sign outside said it closed at 2am but yet they pretty much told us to get out at 1:35 AM. It was nice that the bathroom was clean and that the beer was priced good , but really. Going to tell people to leave before the time that is posted on the sign. Come on. Don't you want to keep your customers? Guess not....Also there was at least two people working there however on three occasions when I went to purchase a drink there were no bartenders there ‍ WTF read more

I haven't been here in the evening, but in the afternoon. The staff is extremely friendly and the drinks are very reasonable compared to other bars. It wouldn't be the place to order a complicated drink, although the bartender I usually see will try to make anything for you. But for beer, wine or simple mixed drinks it's a nice, friendly place to relax for a few. read more

Fun dive bar; 2 pool tables, 2 tvs. Definitely a dive though; everyone knew everyone(except me)... of course I was there on a thursday... There is also a shuffleboard table that was a ton of fun. The pool tables are in the back room with the only booth and a bit of open floor for dancing. The Stag is the only bar in town, unless you're a member of the Eagle's Lodge. It's a small dive bar with a lot of regulars. It's okay considering it is the only bar. They have an okay selection of beer, but only one on tap. That's right, only one. They have most of the mixers needed for most of your mixed drinks. If most of the bartenders don't know how to make something they will look it up to keep you happy. I wouldn't consider the place super clean, but it's a bar and it isn't super dirty either. They have shuffleboard and two pool tables to keep you entertained. They also make popcorn and sell a variety of snacks such as chips. There is also a jukebox and they have live bands every week that bring out the cute dancing couples. Make sure to bring cash because they don't accept credit or debit cards. They have put in a giant atm machine in the corner, if you don't mind paying the fee. As with any bar, it is what you make it and I have fun each time I go. read more
