Once a beautiful and modern hotel has suffered from years of neglect and needs a little TLC to breathe some life back into her. Overall the lobby, bar, reception desk, and shop seem to be well maintained. Once up on our floor the vibe was very different, it felt like we were transported back 20-30 years with colors, lightning, and condition of the hallways. In the room it was nicer, more contemporary, but not as updated as other hotels at this price point. They have a power port plugged in on the nightstand between the two queen beds. It served as a place to plugged in our electronics to charge our smart watches, phones, and other devices. The beds were comfortable, the wifi worked well, and there was a mini fridge in the room but no microwave. The bathroom was OK, but the tub didn't drain quickly, there must have been a clog in the line and water backed up and filled the tub during the shower. The furniture throughout the room was a bit battered and worn. The wall paper was peeling here and there on literally every wall, but the room was clean, the bed linens and towels were clean, the hotel maintenance just needs some work and a refresh overall. If you're a guest parking in the garage is validated to be free. The hotel is centrally located and just minutes from lots of food and shopping with an Uber or Lyft. Coffee in the lobby for free from 6am to 9am, not all day and no complimentary breakfast included in your stay.

I recently visited the Sheraton Stamford Hotel Restaurant for breakfast with my mother. You don't need to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy breakfast, but there is a cost. I ordered an omelette, which came with sliced potatoes and toast, while my mother ordered pancakes. The breakfast was enjoyable, and the service was excellent; they even provided us with the remote control so we could choose what to watch on the TV. Overall, it was a lovely experience.

Bathroom furniture is in this condition

What a DUMP!!!! I'm currently staying in a room 808 and man this hotel is terrible! The bed looks like it was made in a hurry and had lint covering all the sheets as soon as I came in the room of course I had to clean it! There's holes in the walls with ripping wall paper, the electrical that you charge your phone on is broken loosely hanging on the counter next to my wife's side of the bed and for some reason it's sticky like goo gone was used on it at some point, stains in the carpets and there's more but here's the winner when I was taking a shower this morning I look on the ceiling of the shower and it had hair all on the ceiling there's more I can write but this is pathetic that this complaint is this long DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE USE ANOTHER HOTEL!!!!

I stayed at the Stamford Hotel two separate nights during my recent trip back to Connecticut to see family. I stayed in the accessible room with a walk-in shower. I used the mini fridge, which is hidden under the big television. A microwave would've been nice, but I don't think that they have accessible rooms with them. The little convenience store in the lobby came in handy. They sell protein bars, cold brew coffee, candy, and travel-sized toiletries. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but the food smelled good. They do not have room service, for which I'm deducting a star. I ordered delivery via an app so that I could chill in my room in my pajamas while eating. Front desk staff were friendly and professional. The view from my room was epic. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. I slept well.

Fantastic hotel! Would highly recommend for anyone traveling to Stamford for business! I was able to get a great price and the front desk offered me a recommendation for dinner. My room came with free continental breakfast the following day too.

Second stay at this Stamford hotel and we had a great experience. I love the location-which is out of the direct hustle and bustle, yet within walking distance of so many restaurants, shops, and other interests. Hotel is quiet and peaceful, with huge lobby area to meet up, use computers or just relax. Also a bar for drinks or snacks/pizza. The parking area is adjacent to hotel in covered garage. The room and bathroom were roomy and extremely clean. The King bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and parking were included this visit which was an added plus and made our lives much easier. Check in and out were quick and easy and staff was friendly and professional. We will definitely return and do recommend.

Hard to call front desk when your phone isn't hooked up to ANYTHING

When coming into Stamford, it was recommended that I stay at this hotel since it was "new". Having seen what the inside of the hotel itself and based upon my room, they missed a lot of things when they "upgraded". And by a lot of things, I mean everything. When I checked in, I asked for a foam pillow because I am allergic to down pillows. The lady checking me in looks confused and said she'll send someone up to help me. More on that later. I walk into my room and immediately hear the creaks of the floor and can feel the tiles are loose and popping up. I took a video of the sound but am unable to load for some reason. I guess on the positive note I can hear someone break in during the night?? I'm in the room for 10 minutes, changed my clothes to take a quick nap when I hear someone trying to walk into my room they keep pounding and pushing on the door. I quickly put clothes back on and rush to the door and tell them to stop. Looking through the peephole, I noticed it's an employee of the hotel. He finally stops trying to get the door open, and I go ahead and open it up. After zero apologies, he said he's here to check my pillows and tries to walk past me into my room. Excuse me! Two more employees show up and they are confused on what a down vs foam pillow is. They ask me to bring them a pillow and then say they'll be back when they find something. Feeling frustrated and angry at the situation, I go to the phone to contact the front desk. But oh, my phone isn't connected to anything....at all. Welp, guess I have to google and call on my cell phone, which I did. Told the lady at the front desk what happened (no apologies again) and asked if there was a Do Not Disturb sign to use since there wasn't one in the room. She said all they had was a sign that said pets were in the room, which employees will "tend to stay out of." The employees come back with the foam pillow, and I swear by the smell this had to have been in the darkest corners of the hotel for years. It was vile. I tossed it aside and ended up using my clothing as a pillow during my day. One cute thing, when trying to get to the hair dryer in the bathroom, the drawers did not have any knobs. So that was fun to deal with as well. I do not recommend this place at all.

Bed Bug (video of it crawling can't be posted)

BED BUGS!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. One of the beds in my room was CRAWLING with bed bugs as soon as the lights went out. They bit me within minutes, were on my child, and crawled on her stuffed animal. Absolutely horrible and traumatizing, not to mention time consuming to deal with the fallout, sleep deprivation and sanitizing process after we left. Additionally, I booked through an online service (Booking.com). The hotel manager assured me ALL of the money would be refunded to me when I left, but that has not happened, and now they are trying to deny it. The room was also dated, musty and the shower was dirty. The pool was out of service which they did not let us know in advance, and the parking limit for the garage was so low I had to find street parking. Did I mention the BED BUGS?????? I could not possible by more disappointed and disgusted with my experience here. Go ANYWHERE else.

Are you ready for the 411? Here we go...I am attending a conference and this hotel was the overflow hotel, hence not my first choice. The hotel is older which can be tell by the old and broken furniture. While I just needed a room to sleep in it worked for my needs. However I was rudely surprised when I woke up to NO HOT WATER. I called the front desk to report it just to be asked "if I let the water run first?" Clearly if I am calling them I had to have let the water run prompting me to inquire what they thought was an appropriate time to let it run before realizing the water is not working...15 minutes? 30 minutes? I ended up having to take a COLD shower because engineering was not starting until 7am. It's now 7:30am and nobody has come to address the issue. This is truly frustrating and I am telling you if all possible stay clear of this hotel! Next year's conference will not catch me here. I must say the friendliest staff here were the staff at the restaurant as they were friendly, courteous and no attitude. UPDATE: Spoke to manager and was informed the boiler shut down automatically resulting in the cold water. For my troubles of having to take a cold shower, my accommodation was a free breakfast. The conference I am attending provides us with a free breakfast so I guess my accommodation is zero!

My daughter and I got a room here overnight for May 16-17th. We got in after dark. Everything looked nice and the beds seemed comfy. But when we turned on the bathroom light, the one in the ceiling was strobing off and on...rather annoying. We called the front desk because the TV was not connecting to the service and someone was sent up to correct that. Then we showed him the strobing light and he went and came back with a new lightbulb, which did the same thing! So he just left it unscrewed and said it needed fixing. There was also back lighting around a large wall mirror in the bathroom, and that was enough for us. SO...after 2 toilet flushes...dirty water came up in the bathtub! Ug! It came up a bit then went down. No way were we going to take a shower in there! The next morning, I at least wanted to wash my hair, and had to bend over the tub to do that. When I pulled the provided hair-dryer out of the bag it was in, I saw and felt that it was covered all over with sticky gel or hairspray! Yuck. So now I couldn't even dry my hair. I took it down to the front desk and showed them. I said I had never seen such a disgusting hairdryer, even at a thrift store! They asked if I wanted another sent to my room, I said yes, but one never came. I also told them about the backed up tub. They asked if we called for service. No, because, neither of us wanted some plumbers in our room and there was no way we were stepping in that tub, anyway. On top of all this, there is a small fridge in the room, whose motor kept switching on and off every 15 mintues all night, keeping me awake till almost 3am. We felt the hotel owned us a good refund for non-use issues, but not only were the managers hard to get a hold of for 3 days, when contact was made, they only gave us a rather small refund. Issues: couldn't take showers, kept awake by fridge half the night, disgusting dirty "free" hair dryer. At lease the beds were comfortable. Won't be staying here again.

Dishonest housekeeping. Stolen items! Be very cautious before staying here, or make sure you lock everything up!

A day later the woman on the front desk at the Court Yard got quite irritated that my reservation was moved and the points weren't reallocated. I've now been double charged points on my account as she went ahead and created a second reservation instead of listening to me and allowing me to explain that the points needed to be reallocated. Nespresso pods are restocked every day, mini fridge is a nice small size for sodas and wines. Note that ice machines are only on floors 4 and 7. A few reviews mentioned walls being thin; I didn't experience loud noises at all. I heard a few voices in the hallway occasionally, but nothing late into the night. LOCATION: The Hyatt Regency Greenwich is conveniently just off I-95. It is located at the site of the former printing plant for Condé Nast Magazines (1921-1967). CONCEPT: Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a tremendous complex, providing event spaces, meeting rooms, many amenities, a bar/lounge, and 374 hotel rooms. (I've attached one floor's plan to give perspective.) Uncommon amenities include a movie theater showing one of the latest releases and a salt water pool. SERVICE: Service was mixed. My initial encounter was not welcoming, especially given this is a four star rated facility. I arrived in the early afternoon at the entrance. The valet explained that whether I self park or not, there is a fee (average around $30) and I must give valet my keys. The more unwelcoming and surprising thing was I asked if there was a luggage cart, as I recently had surgery. He pointed to where luggage carts are stored and told me to return the cart when finished. Despite seeing me slowly placing bags on the cart, and trouble pushing the cart, no help was offered by him, nor was solicited from a colleague inside the Hyatt Regency. The way he acted led me to assume conventional valet and bellman services were not available at this facility. The next day, at check out around 11 AM, was thankfully a different experience and I was grateful that the assigned valet took the luggage cart and placed the bags in my car without asking. Although I hope to not require assistance next time I visit, I understand from the hotel manager that valets are expected to transfer luggage between car and cart, and that bellman service is available. ROOM EXPERIENCE: GOOD The room was recently renovated and was cleverly and attractively designed, including prints related to Condé Nast magazines as reference to the site's history. Bed and pillows among most comfortable I've experienced anywhere. BAD I was able to hear children screaming from a distant guest room and someone urinating into a toilet above me, so there is a lack of sound proofing at the facility that is usually associated with a lower rated hotel/motel. Your neighboring guest can have an impact on your overall experience. AMENITIES I appreciated the recent addition of a movie theater showing a current release (during my visit The Devil Wears Prada 2 was being viewed.) I could see this destination as an attractive alternative to crowded multiplex theaters. Plus the Townsend Restaurant and Bar is steps away for during- or after-theater sips and nibbles. TIP: Since the building was constructed in the 1980s during a trend of rooms facing atrium, some room windows face the atrium, inviting a voyeur experience (watching activity in bar/restaurant below and likewise restaurant/bar guests watching activity in guest rooms). I've always found this a bit creepy, so if you want an outward facing room be sure to request it.
