    Room #30 view

We were looking for a last minute getaway during memorial weekend, Hubby came across this place, price & location were reasonable so we decided to give it a try. Easy to get too from the city by train & then it's about a 5 minute cab ride. we checked in Sunday morning, room was not yet ready no biggie we changed into our bathing suits & went to relax by the pool. They provide towels, snacks & water which was nice. We had room #30 which was really nice basically like a small apartment, nice bed, jacuzzi tub, fridge very pretty & comfortable w nice toiletries to use. our second day unfortunately had a cloudy & rainy start so we didn't get to enjoy the pool but instead were able to relax in the jacuzzi tub very nice & relaxing. Morning breakfast was decent some , bagels, fruit & pastries they also offered a Quiche option, Chorizo & a Spinach & cheese both not bad, chorizo was better. you had a choice of water, juice , ice tea or coffee .. OJ & coffee both good. This is a nice property when u walk in u feel like u are in someone's home, which is nice, the outside patio/ pool area is cute with seating outside & by the pool a nice way to just relax. it was very quiet not really much of anything going it was a really relaxing weekend which is exactly what we were looking for. we had an enjoyable stay, will keep this place in mind for future plans.

This was really a nice place and staff was very friendly and very accommodating . I enjoyed the tour around the property but when told there was a tour I thought we were going around the inside of the house, the majority of it was outside, and I would have dressed appropriately had I known it was going to be more than an hour outside. It was very informative and enjoyable otherwise. We stayed in the Sackett suite and it was overall a nice experience, however the carpets needed shampooing and I kept smelling mold around the jacuzzi and sink. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and we loved the coffee cake. I would def. come back and stay in another room. This was our first time in a bed and breakfast.

LOCATION: The Hyatt Regency Greenwich is conveniently just off I-95. It is located at the site of the former printing plant for Condé Nast Magazines (1921-1967). CONCEPT: Hyatt Regency Greenwich is a tremendous complex, providing event spaces, meeting rooms, many amenities, a bar/lounge, and 374 hotel rooms. (I've attached one floor's plan to give perspective.) Uncommon amenities include a movie theater showing one of the latest releases and a salt water pool. SERVICE: Service was mixed. My initial encounter was not welcoming, especially given this is a four star rated facility. I arrived in the early afternoon at the entrance. The valet explained that whether I self park or not, there is a fee (average around $30) and I must give valet my keys. The more unwelcoming and surprising thing was I asked if there was a luggage cart, as I recently had surgery. He pointed to where luggage carts are stored and told me to return the cart when finished. Despite seeing me slowly placing bags on the cart, and trouble pushing the cart, no help was offered by him, nor was solicited from a colleague inside the Hyatt Regency. The way he acted led me to assume conventional valet and bellman services were not available at this facility. The next day, at check out around 11 AM, was thankfully a different experience and I was grateful that the assigned valet took the luggage cart and placed the bags in my car without asking. Although I hope to not require assistance next time I visit, I understand from the hotel manager that valets are expected to transfer luggage between car and cart, and that bellman service is available. ROOM EXPERIENCE: GOOD The room was recently renovated and was cleverly and attractively designed, including prints related to Condé Nast magazines as reference to the site's history. Bed and pillows among most comfortable I've experienced anywhere. BAD I was able to hear children screaming from a distant guest room and someone urinating into a toilet above me, so there is a lack of sound proofing at the facility that is usually associated with a lower rated hotel/motel. Your neighboring guest can have an impact on your overall experience. AMENITIES I appreciated the recent addition of a movie theater showing a current release (during my visit The Devil Wears Prada 2 was being viewed.) I could see this destination as an attractive alternative to crowded multiplex theaters. Plus the Townsend Restaurant and Bar is steps away for during- or after-theater sips and nibbles. TIP: Since the building was constructed in the 1980s during a trend of rooms facing atrium, some room windows face the atrium, inviting a voyeur experience (watching activity in bar/restaurant below and likewise restaurant/bar guests watching activity in guest rooms). I've always found this a bit creepy, so if you want an outward facing room be sure to request it.

The atrium is beautiful! The movie theater for hotel guest is also clean and comfortable! Will stay…read moreagain soon :)

They also provide a convenient, light continental breakfast with fresh mini croissants and bagels. My only real complaint was the noise from above. The room layout was also a bit quirky (like two chairs weirdly facing a blank wall), but the overall cleanliness and high-tech amenities easily make this one of the top stays in the region.

The J House staff really know how to take care of you at their restaurant . We ordered chicken nuggets and pasta with butter for the little ones. Several of us ordered the lobster bisque when we heard it as the speciall soup of the day. Others ordered flat bread pizza as appetizers. For my entree I ordered Caesar salad with chicken. All different lunch items were ordered by my family. Before they brought the Lobster bisque they gave us hot plates and told us not to touch the plates. A server came out with a pot and poured the lobster bisque into the hot plates.. Wow. It was not only delicious but extremely hot the entire time while having the soup. My Caesar salad was topped with a biscuit rather than croutons and an abundance of chicken. I really enjoyed it as did my family enjoying their meals. The cappuccino was over the top. I used a spoon to scoop the creamy foam off the top. Wow again! This was the best cappuccino I ever had.Sal E. New Rochelle .

A day later the woman on the front desk at the Court Yard got quite irritated that my reservation was moved and the points weren't reallocated. I've now been double charged points on my account as she went ahead and created a second reservation instead of listening to me and allowing me to explain that the points needed to be reallocated. Vanessa on the front desk was wonderful and friendly. I'm hoping my points situation is resolved soon. Both hotels are extremely clean and new. The valet is run very efficiently. When my boyfriend and I arrived, there was only one group being helped by the front desk staff. I went to the restroom and came back and they were still not done. And then we waited for a while longer. How hard is it to check one person in? Well, I found out firsthand. The system somehow didn't capture my Marriott Bonvoy account. Front desk staff struggled to tab through their archaic-looking system to enter basic information. Later on when my friend arrived, they dealt with similar delays and were stuck in the lobby for quite some time. Staff did NOT accommodate the request for our wedding party to all be on the same floor. Also the staff member she spoke with did not know if they could get her a high chair to do make up, and needed to ASK THEIR MANAGER, who wasn't on site. Jeez. How hard is it to get a chair? On a more positive note, the room itself was clean. The bed could have been more comfortable. I had difficulty sleeping. If you look at the picture, the tv was oddly placed next to the tv and not in front of the tv. Strange. They had a blow dryer, a fridge, and dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In my friend's suite, they also had a microwave. Based on this experience, Marriott is ranking below Hilton and Hyatt for me. I know Courtyard is their no frills brand, but I've had better experiences at their competitor's no frills brands.
