For nice-sized parties, there are three long, low, button-tufted back booths around a long table. At the bar, you will find blue upholstered stools with ornate backs. Lastly, the outdoor patio is simply sleek and spacious. We arrived 8 minutes after 9PM to find the kitchen was closed. Thankfully, our server was able to acquire us fries. Debated between Guava Goddess and Lavender Lemonade, tried and loved the latter. Ambiance is great. Menu reminds me something similar to Yardhouse but price is higher and food is more on the bland side. I tried 3 drinks: Cloud 9 which was coconut rum with creamer. Guava Goddess was a guava juice spritzer. The Mango Tango was my favorite drink. We got to try the Balsamic Steak Salad, Wonton Cups and Elote. The balsamic steak salad needs a flavor burst like some red onions in it. The wonton cups was lacking a sweet soy glaze and some spice jalapeños. Elote was pretty good with chips on the side. Drinks and Apps are pretty much the same price: $16-$20. Service was a bit on the slow side. The Standard (nightclub) does not disappoint. Even with the neighboring club Vyxn closing, and the younger crowd flooding this club, there is now an even more beautiful mix in demographic diversity. The ambience is still high end, but with a nice mix in musical tastes on different event nights to please everyone. The bar is packed after 11pm, so if you want to get a seat, get there earlier. Went on a Friday night and even made reservations, an ambitious move, as it turned out we were the only diners in the restaurant, outside for a lone soul at the bar. Reservations were clearly unnecessary, though it became apparent the venue is far more invested in its nightclub identity, which apparently wakes up much later in the evening. The food itself landed squarely in the "just okay" category, though I'll give credit where it's due: plating and presentation were thoughtful and well executed. We ordered one appetizer, which was enjoyable, and two main dishes. The salmon was nicely presented and tasted good, though it carried a noticeable fishy aroma that was hard to ignore. The hot honey chicken sandwich, on the other hand, came in like a wrecking ball. The chicken was aggressively over-seasoned, steamrolling the palate and leaving nothing to be tasted beyond the Buffalo Cheyenne dry rub. I did spot bread pudding on the menu--my personal favorite, and something I order without hesitation whenever it appears. Unfortunately, our check was dropped mid-meal and dessert was never offered, which is the culinary equivalent of ending a movie halfway through. So no bread pudding and a slightly irritated food lover heading out to satisfy the sweet tooth elsewhere. read more

Good for drinks, dinner or a cigar on the patio. The cigars I don't touch but I love the faint scent of them in the air. They remind me of my grandfather and a time before we knew not wearing seatbelts and red meat were bad for you. While I don't recommend not wearing your seatbelt on the drive in, I do recommend the burgers or the macaroni and cheese. Both are way better than going through the windshield and safer bets. The far is stocked well and the tenders can make just anything you want. Beer and wine selection is great too. The service is always good. I hear it turns into a nightclub later in the evening but I have never experienced it. Food stops at some point in the evening. read more

I'm a regular customer for fine dining experiences around the world, and recently had booked a group family dinner at The Standard in Fresno after our recent Thanksgiving dinner. I have to say, I didn't expect to experience what I did in Fresno - thanks to The Standard. The food quality, customer service, restaurant aesthetics, to the table settings and cutlery, menu, and overall vibe was incredible! We started out with the calamari, which I love, but my wife doesn't typically eat; however we both agreed it was some of the best calamari we've ever eaten anywhere in the world. Also, The Standard's corn with the zesty touch of spice and flavorful dip was exquisite, and their mushroom risotto tasted like it was sourced fresh from Italy. Not to mention their honey prawns were unlike anything I'd ever had - they were beyond delicious. I have to admit my family and I were pretty full just from eating the appetizers as they were incredibly fresh, tasty, and exquisite. However, we opted to space out our dinner and dessert and we were in for a bigger treat. The fresh honey baked salmon was as good as the salmon I've eaten in Norway, Iceland, and Scotland, and was cooked to perfection, and my family couldn't stop raving about their main courses. We finished our meal with a few dessert options which were also spectacular. I don't typically write reviews. However, I had low expectations of finding a world-class dining experience in a place like Fresno; however, The Standard was way "above standard" for what I had expected, and definitely on par with the high end restaurants I've eaten at around the world. However, their price point was incredibly generous, and well below what I would have expected to pay. Not to mention the service and staff was brilliant. My family threw me a birthday party to celebrate my 60th. I cannot say enough about this venue. The location is superb and we had an outdoor party, but it wasn't cold because of the many heaters they placed outside. The food was terrific, especially the mushroom risotto and salmon. Very beautiful restaurant with a good selection of food choices! My sister-in-laws and I each ordered something different along with their alcohol drinks. I had ordered the spicy chicken with fries. The burger was very dry and hard at the edges so I had to ask them to remake it which the waitress happily assisted me with. The fries were crispy and yummy though. The burger the second time around came out better as the chicken meat was less dry and not hard like the first patty. I am glad the problem was taken care of but it was a bummer having to wait for food a second round. Customer service was good aside from the issue with my food. read more

I went here last Sat 2024 July to see the newly remodeled site. I used to frequent this spot often prior to the renovation and to be honest-it looks alot like the same but with accents added to it. I know Raj and he treats me well. He's the manager btw. And all of the security personnel was very accomodating for me since I'm a cripple in a wheelchair. I appreciated that. Also the servers were very attractive and gave service with a smil. Many of the patrons tend to stick to themselves but all the attractrive ladies were out that night lol. I tried Standard this evening. The ambience of the restaurant was unique and kind of had an old world castle kind of feel to it. We arrived to cheerful and gracious staff and got seated promptly. We ordered drinks from the bar and the appetizer of asian lettuce wraps. The wraps were seasoned perfectly and were delightful. I had the ribeye steak with garlic mashed potatoes which was cooked perfectly. My husband had ahi tuna with mushroom risotto which was incredible. The mushroom risotto was creamy, delicious and cooked to perfection. I could have just eaten the risotto and been happy with the meal. The wasabi that came with ahi tuna was potent and seem to be made in house which was a delightful twist. Remodel came out good! Very clean and lights were absolutely beautiful. You can tell they were very detailed in the planning. Food was excellent. Had the arancini and calamari apps. Calamari was perfectly cooked. The arancini is to die for. I didn't know what it was but now I can't live without it lol. I've been coming to the standard for at least 6 years, and it has always been pleasant. Last night on the Cabana/patio I experienced dishonesty/unprofessionalism from one of the male (bouncer? I did not get his name). Anyway, I was with the party who had reserved one of the cabana spaces and also with another party who had a table indoors. We were going back-and-forth between the 2. I went and sat in the cabana outside as friends were in both locations When does bouncer guy said to me "No, you can't sit there it's reserved for Matt." I said "no, this Cabana is reserved and paid for until 2 am for [insert my friends name here]. Then he said "who's in your party?" I told him "all those people" pointing at my friends. Regardless, it's reserved for [my friend]. Furthermore when there is a reservation, they place the name of the party on a little frame on the table for guests to see (it was conveniently turned facing the bouncer). Then he says "oh, ok you can sit here". So, why lie about Matt, whomever that is? You knew from the beginning that the table was reserved for the party name that I gave you and it was clearly printed on the table. Get it together. That attempt to be slick failed. My friends and I wanted to try a new bar/lounge and came here for the first time. It was my friend's birthday and wanted to celebrate her. Upon entrance, we were greeted by a very nice and welcoming security guard. The bar/lounge is very nice inside and has an outdoor patio with sectioned gazebos with patio heaters. The bartenders were very nice and attentive and so was the employee outside who helped turned on the patio heater for us right away when we sat down. My only complaint about this experience was that my friend and I got charged extra for tip when we already tipped them. I gave the bartender a $5 tip in cash AND had an UNAUTHORIZED $7.99 TIP ADDED through my card. My other friend tipped $9 through her card AND AN UNAUTHORIZED $9 TIP ADDED on top as well. I get it, it was a very slow night so they needed to make money, BUT IT'S SO TOTALLY UNETHICAL OF THE PERSON WHO DID THIS. This was our first time here and it will be our last. We do not support unethical businesses and will not return. At least Vinx next door offered us a free table, juice, ice, and a champagne bottle for FREE! LET ME REPEAT THAT, IT WAS FREEEEEE! We went to get some dinner there the other week, after a friend recommended it. I didn't know what kind of food they offered since I had only been for drinks, but boy was I happy with our choices! My friend got the Mac and Cheese and was gracious enough to share it, I may not have been that nice since it was so yummy! Loved the flavor and little bit of crisp texture topping it with the cheese.
