Neighbors would easily be a go-to neighborhood spot if it weren't for one massive, glaring problem: the owner. The rest of the experience is genuinely fantastic. The bartenders, kitchen staff and servers are amazing, attentive, hardworking, and warm despite clearly working under stressful conditions. The food is solid, the atmosphere is naturally friendly, and the overall vibe should make for a great night out. Unfortunately, the owner single-handedly ruins the entire night. Every single evening, he can be found parked at the bar, working his way through a bottle of wine, getting visibly intoxicated, and treating everyone around him with utter disrespect. He is blatantly rude to customers and staff alike, bringing a toxic, uncomfortable energy to the entire room. Walking through the front door and seeing him sitting at the bar instantly sours the mood and makes you want to turn around and walk right back out. It is heartbreaking to see such a great staff and a cool local spot get weighed down by someone who has zero respect for his own business or the people supporting it. Go for the food and support the incredible workers if you must, but be prepared for a deeply uncomfortable atmosphere the second the owner opens his mouth. read more

Beers were cool. Location is ideal for us. But sad experience. Picked a couple old school songs on the juke box, and a man harmlessly enjoying himself was also singing, into the songs, and tapping on the bar to tunes he enjoyed. The bar tender told the man, that he needed to stop because, he claimed, it was "disrespectful to the other customers, and the whole bar could feel it". Hmmm, there's only about 5 other people in here and me and my husband are 2 of them and we're enjoying the mans energy, sitting 3 seats away and feeling no vibration. I confronted the bar tender saying, we are enjoying his energy sf don't feel any movent at the bad? So how can he be disturbing this _ side bar when we canrbeve feel it? These are moments when you have to note that bias exists. Sad. We rarely stop here and today decided, let's give it a shot, it's close and convenient. Damn, this is something that should be on regular menu. Best non-Philly Cheese Steak-Cheese Steak I've had... basically a Philly-like sandwich with ground sirloin and peppers, onion, cheeses on sourdough... but mine i think was Rye that actually was pretty amazing. We really like neighbors - the service has been outstanding and the food has been delicious. A great neighborhood spot that is totally unassuming and a great time. They've got an outdoor covered patio area with heaters (if needed) - they also allowed our dog on the patio which was awesome. They are very accommodating, our waitress was super nice and gave my husband a sample of the potato salad before he ordered it so he would know if he liked it or maybe would have wanted something else... he said it was delicious and tasted like twice baked potatoes! I used to think this place was great, but not after my last lunch. My pulled pork came on toasted bread. The coleslaw was drowning in mayonnaise. And the sweet potato fries were also more on the cool side, than warm. I'm not sure what happened to this place. It was very disappointing. read more
