The lamb chops are a must!

My husband and I are new in town and visited The Station for a date night. We honestly had no clue what to expect, but man oh man was the food and service wonderful! We bragged to friends about their delicious grit cake (no picture) and the lamb chops were perfection. Looking forward to coming back.

It's ok: food is decent, service is great, but it's just a small town restaurant trying to be high end but not quite executing it well. Chop Salad: bed of iceberg lettuce with three whole baby carrots and two thick slices of tomatoes. Soup of the day: mushroom and sausage: it's ok. Fried Grits: delicious, truly, but served with what tasted like from-a-jar Pace brand Salsa. Spinach salad: again, fresh ingredients just dumped in a bowl. Crepes Chicken: amazing taste, looks like it was plated by a trainee.

I'll start off with that I am a big city foodie snob (Tampa, FL) and I raised my eyebrow like the Rock when my wife decided to come to The Station for dinner after a tour of GSW campus. So we went to a local store next door to wait until the restaurant opened and asked the staff what was worth ordering. She mentioned the Crab Rangoon and the fried macaroni and cheese for starters and basically most of the dinner menu was worth trying. So we decided to give it a try and started with the Crab Rangoon and the fried Mac & cheese. So let me tell you that they hit it out of the park. The Crab Rangoon and the Mac & Cheese was better than The Cheese Cake Factory! We ordered the ribeye, seaboard chicken and grouper for our entree and they didn't let us down either. I look forward to enjoying many more meals here if we decide to attend GSW

History and ambience and great service and food and more - all in this main street restaurant in downtown Americus. I know why President Jimmy and First Lady Rosalyn Carter travel here on a regular basis from the Plains - the next city over - to spend an evening... it is good stuff! I enjoyed the two tuna salad today - and I really believe every bite got better as I ate. It was crisp and fresh and delicious and filling - packed with thick and juicy and well-seasoned blackened tuna on top of plentiful greens with avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, mushrooms, onions, other veggies, cheese, and a delicious house made dressing. The restaurant has multiple rooms, and while they are only open for lunch hours and dinner hours (not all day), they do host music and other entertaining events. Train station ambiance is fun, and the TVs on the walls keep folks tuned in to news and sports. The bathroom is wheelchair accessible and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive - though not overbearing. Prices are fair for the food quality of the food. Shout out to Amelia - who took great care of us today. I am visiting Americus this week from Maryland. I wish I had more time here - because I would definitely come back and try more menu items!

Enjoyed a wonderful meal tonight! Perfect place for a great dinner with friends and family. Been a fixture in downtown Americus for more than two decades for a good reason! It's had the same quality dedicated management all along -- hasn't missed a beat!

Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls. Mushy and not allot of flavor. No chili sauce

This is the best/only place to get a decent meal with a reputable bar in town. Reasonably price with a great atmosphere.

Best steak anywhere. I love their Jalapeño Fried Cheese Grits as a side to the Steak. Super friendly staff.

The restaurant itself is just magnificent; linen tablecloths and napkins on tables set in a grand room that gives you a sense of dining during the Gilded Age. The ample menu includes steaks, chicken dishes and seafood. Two of us ordered filets, and the others ordered the chicken Marsala and Salmon. The meals were excellent! The filets were a full 8 ounces and cooked perfectly (medium rare). The other dishes were just as delicious. The wait staff were attentive, engaging and charming. A fine setting and a great meal made for a perfect evening.

Don't choose the "vegetable medley" unless you want a peppery ditchweed bundle of roughly 8 weeds (twine- thin green beans and pencil lead asparagus) and the scoop of mashed potatoes were cold all the way through. If you're going to serve me mashed potatoes from two days ago, the least you could do is microwave wave them a bit! They even managed to mess up a 3 component cocktail order that they ended up charging me an extra 9 dollars to correct!!! This place isn't cheap. Spend your money elsewhere where the kitchen at least makes an effort.
