Had another amazing visit to the Stockyards, and this time I got to see the longhorns walk from a front-row view! Being that close to these incredible animals was such a memorable experience. They truly are amazing to see up close. The Stockyards is also a fantastic place to explore, with plenty of great places to eat, unique shops, and that unmistakable Western atmosphere. There's always something fun to discover, whether you're there for the longhorns, the food, the shopping, or simply to soak in the experience. It's definitely a place that never gets old. The Stockyards are so fun! Being from California we don't have places like this, so this was super fun! Lots of paid parking available. I would say that the price for parking is pretty steep at almost $30/day, but it is what it is. There are tons of shops here and the cattle drive is so fun! We spent an hour or so one day shopping and looking around and then another hour on a different day waiting for the cattle drive at 4pm. I would recommend coming here on a weekday rather than a weekend. It was packed on a Sunday around 5pm. I'm glad we watched the cattle drive at 4pm on a Monday. It was way less crowded. Such a cool place! I hope to be able to come back in the future. read more

We had a fun afternoon at the Stockyards. So many shops and restaurants! You can purchase beer/wine, etc. and wander the streets. The stores are very touristy... but cool to look around in. The best part, of course, is the cattle drive. They do it twice a day at 11:30am and 4:00pm. Beautiful longhorns! You can also view them in the pens after the drive. Tip: We parked about 2 blocks away on a (shaded!) side street for free. We avoided the crowded pay parking lot. read more

If you're visiting Fort Worth and want a true "well, this is definitely Texas" experience then definitely check out The Stockyards!!! This feels kind of like a bucket list location honestly. My friends and I spent time walking around the Stockyards area, popping into shops, window shopping at some very luxurious western wear stores, and soaking in the atmosphere. Between the cowboy boots, giant belt buckles, hats, leather goods, and rustic architecture, the entire area felt like a mix of Texas history and tourist attraction. The highlight for me, of course, was watching the famous cattle drive featuring ENORMOUS Texas longhorn cattle walking right down the middle of the street!!! It was something I had never experienced before and I found it fascinating! With parking, it's 21 bucks to see 17 cows. Even without the iconic cattle drive, which makes this place truly special, there is a great selection of shops, restaurants, and bars steeped in history. The shopping ranges from "touristy" to high-end Santa Fe style, while the dining spans from century-old barbecue to a slightly misplaced Shake Shack. The photo ops are just as varied, from a herd of cattle made of reclaimed metal to a stuffed squirrel on a stripper pole. I'm sure the nightlife is a blast (open containers allowed), especially after stumbling across what is now my favorite bar east of the Colorado: Second Rodeo. Given that it's packed with tourists, the Stockyards could probably benefit from more "Wild West" tropes like shootouts, shows, and stagecoaches, but it actually feels more authentic without them. By the way, Bonnie and Clyde once used Stockyards Hotel as a hideout. If you want to experience the decor and artifacts from their lifestyle, give them a shot. read more

Fun place to experience. Good bit of western shops, restaurants, and alcohol options. We did the maze at the beginning and it was fun but so hot. Lol. Beers were pricey but I guess you have to pay the tourist tax. I reccomend going early afternoon so you can experience more stuff. We got there around 5 on a Thursday evening and some of the shops and fun things were closing. There's kids activities also. At 11&4 each day you can watch them herd the cattle. Neat little experience with the little one! We were looking for that Texas cowboy experience and read about DFW. We came super early and waited for like 1.5 hours before things started opening up. Around 12-1 is when they got really lively with the Cattle parade and the cowboys on horses going around and letting you pet their horses. Restaurants and stores start opening. Since the street is private, you can buy some drinks (beer or cocktail) and walk around the stockyard. They have cattle that you see, a horse area, some maze activity and other activities. There are some hotels here too, which a lot of the bars don't open until later. It's a cool activity to do with the family. read more

I honestly wasn't sure what to do while paying a visit to Fort Worth but stumbled upon The Stockyards on the search engine and decided to check it out! The Western feel and cattle drive was quite an experience that I think visitors from all over the country or the world would like to see at least once in a lifetime. With some cobblestone roads and saloon-like shops and restaurants, The Stockyards likely gets visitors year-round no problem, supporting their local businesses. There's wild west souvenir shops, western wear boutiques, boot barns, and even leather goods stores. For the foodies, there are beef jerky stands, candy shops, and good ole bbq. Parking can be difficult especially on days with special events. The lots fill up super fast even though you're paying, forget about free street parking along East Exchange Ave unless you get there early. I'd say definitely make a trip to The Stockyards and check it out yourself. read more

it was cool to check out the big steers with the huge longhorns during the parade. The free public event takes place every day at 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM a couple of things: 1. the paid parking lot does not have any signage on what the hourly rate is so you may want to drive around a block or so there is free street parking 2. the steer parade is really short about 5-10 min 3. the town itself looks like oldtown but is a big of a tourist trap with all the stores selling trinkets. there is a shake shack next to the wrangler store which seemed odd if they are trying to preserve the old town feel. 4. lot of stores and restaurants 5. rode on the weekends - check the schedule bottom line if your in the area it's worth stoppyig by for 1-2 hours to check out the parade and some of the shops. read more

Doing tourist things after figuring out we are visiting Fort Worth ... Staying downtown this was a short bus ride here. Great place to see some of the animals (petting zoo and cattle, and horseback folk all around. The food station/beer stations had a variety of menus and were strategically placed and pricing wasn't over the top expensive... I was pleasantly surprised. I am in firm belief that the overall planning and logistics of this place are professionally done & handled well! This venue is a must visit if in the area and you like animals/nature and good food and nic-nac shopping. Fun place to visit if in the area. The streets around the stockyard exchange are old Texas inspired. Gives one a glimpse into the history of ranch country and the old west. Review 4 in 2025. We are in Dallas/Frisco area for national football championship game and are doing touristy things. Ate lunch at Billy Bob's and stayed for 4 pm Longhorn cattle drive. The shops were super crowded inside so didn't buy anything. They shut down Exchange street for the cattle drive. There are lots of people here. The announcer asked where people are from and some International guests came from South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, etc. The cattle drive was cool and the long Horns were beautiful. It was a short cattle drive down the city block. We saw the cattle afterwards in a pen. Definitely recommend the cattle drive. It's free, but parking was $10 in Billy Bobs. read more

Having never been to this area, I've heard of The Stockyards in Fort Worth, and it was on my bucket list! What a lively place!! On the weekends, it can get very crowded, but the people are very friendly, here! Lots of options..... food, shops, museums, Texas Longhorns, etc. And I wasn't disappointed! We recently went to The Stockyards and watched the longhorn cattle drive down the Main Street and toured the shops. It's a preserved western town and we enjoyed checking this place. We watched the cattle drive at 11am, although they have a later time as well. We spend about 2 hours here. This place is touristy like others mentioned so I would go expecting this. It also is family friendly and saw mechanical horse machines that little kids can ride, a maze for kids, a train that kids can ride around on, and horses so if you have young kids, there are things for them to do there. You can ride in a horse drawn carriage as well if you would like. Things to know: You will have to find a place in advance to get a good view of the cattle run since this place fills up fast. I heard some of the better restaurants open later in the day here. You can check in advance to see when music is playing in the downtown area if this is your thing. read more

Second time to venture through the Stockyards. It's an older slice of an older western town in Ft. Worth, Texas. When the weather warms up the entire state heats up like an oven. Some of the most expensive pieces I've ever seen When we went it was PACKED but my fiance has gone multiple times and said it wasn't that bad all of the times he went, we assume it was because they were playing Oklahoma State. Good sights, a good experience. Cool to see the train and we missed the walkthrough with the longhorns. Love all the live music. Ft Worth Stock Exchange is still using the downtown roadway cattle drive. They still drive their cattle at downtown everyday at 11 am and 4 pm if weather permits. Basically they drive the cattle as parade the downtown for tourist attractions. During solar eclipse week, the visitors explode to maximum number. I think the cattle drive is a gimmick and overrated. I thought they are going to bring out hundred of the cows. I think is is less than 25. Very disappointed. However I do like the long horn with large overhang. I do like walk around stockyard museum and above broad walk to be the cattle yard. It nice to see them. read more

Yes, it's a tourist attraction. Yes, you should go if you are here! With cowboy style sights, shops, and smells, it's as close to a cattle town as many of us wish to go! Live demonstrations of cows running the street.... Why yes, that sounds fantastic! First time coming here and we liked the atmosphere of it all, the gift shops were cute, my family really enjoyed the root beer on tap. However, we did not like how there was no parking anywhere other than where you get charged, the signs are not very visible so we didn't realize we had to pay. Once we get back to our car we see a parking notice regarding paying for parking, ok no big deal. We were there for less than an hour and a half and it cost us $30 to park. I'm surprised there isn't a validation system considering a lot of the shops and restaurants are quite expensive. Really frustrating and put a damper on the entire experience. read more
